It seems that someone over at Takimag is a fan of Revilo P. Oliver who famously broke with William F. Buckley and his conservative phonies. Their stock is rising in my estimation. Oliver was long before my time, but almost everyone involved in White Nationalism has been indirectly influenced by his work. If you’re not familar with him, you should definitely check him out.

  1. I’m a big fan of Revilo, he had high intelligence, determination, and a noble personality. All the traits that make a great leader.

He also wasn’t afraid to call a spade a spade. He actually used the word nigger in his writings. A far cry from today’s neutered intellectuals.

  2. I wish that someone with a DVD copy of After 50 Years, the 1969 promotional film that he made for the National Youth Alliance, would put it up on YouTube.

  3. “He became, as he had not been in earlier times, a fervent supporter of Adolf Hitler and praised the “clear-sighted realism” of Reinhard Heydrich.”

Alas for the fallen who bare the truth with them to their graves. The OQOnline keeps erasing my benign comments because of my website. Such courage will win the day. Hitler is a somebody who must be confronted. You can’t dismiss him with a line, or go around him, climb over him or go under him. And the reason why is because the locus of Western thought remains still imprisoned in 1781 when Kant published his famous Critique which destroyed once and for all teleology whether Jewish, Marxist, Scientific or Christian. Kaput. Dead. But this fact is not confronted and accepted anywhere but in the direct line of development from Kant to National Socialism, which has been driven deep underground.

To quote from the article again:
“‘I do not deprecate metaphysical thought, of which I am the first to vindicate the necessity, but I do suggest that when conservatives undertake to formulate a political doctrine, they will do well to give priority to thought about problems within the very narrow range of what is now possible.'”

It shows that, although Mr. Oliver came to accept Hitler, he didn’t understand the Western metaphysic followed by Hitler and leading National Socialists, who understood an earth-shattering change in world-view and consciousness had come upon the West from a quiet man working in Koeingsberg; that the grasping of that world-view and the essential understanding of it is the necessary thing from which the political doctrine will emerge as readily as butter from the churning of cream.

Now, I can descry such a fundamental lack of knowledge of the Western revolution in ideas that began with Kant and changed the world as we know it, but it, regardless, because of its truth value, cannot be hid forever, and even barred from the source and history of its development, even in its rejection by the materialistic juadised world, its outline exists, and those who feel the West will, in time, come to understand what is now an essential part of their being and cannot be shaken off unless Western Civilisation go with it.

  4. Yes one of the stranger things I have ever read was ‘Hitler was a direct product of Enlightenment Philosophy’, but if one really does research it, it is in fact TRUE!

The Enlightenment: Not just for liberals and marxists! 😉

  5. We’re beyond the age of metaphysics. Get over it. Good riddance.

@Anthony: The “direct line” from Kant to National Socialism is known as the time line.

  6. It takes a bizarre cult like religious faith to believe science has the answer for everything. We are not beyond the age of metaphysics, It is an impossibility. Science can not, nor has it answered everything, there are some things that have no answer – the primary forces of nature for one. That is the point.

Rick, prove that science has answered every question possible to every why? It is the Marxist faith that has tried to do away with metaphysics, and this is well known. You are merely making an unsubstantiated claim, and that is your faith, that does not even rise to a metaphysic.

  7. Thanks for writing about Oliver — I had, unfortunately, never heard of him. Clear thinker! (Or is that redundant?)

Via Oliver, I discovered this Letter of the Emperor Claudius to the Alexandrians. Fascinating! Could’ve been written today:

“…and on the other hand, I explicitly order the Jews [of Alexandria] not to agitate for more privileges than they formerly possessed, and not in the future to send out a separate embassy as though they lived in a separate city (a thing unprecedented), and not to force their way into gymnasiarchic or cosmetic games, while enjoying their own privileges [paying no taxes] and sharing a great abundance of advantages in a city not their own, and not to bring in or admit Jews who come down the river from Egypt or from Syria, a proceeding which will compel me to conceive serious suspicions. Otherwise I will by all means take vengeance on them as fomenters of which is a general plague infecting the whole world….”

  8. Lena – Lost me. Who said anything about science answering everything? What kind of answers do you need any way? If by metaphysics you mean some mythic or religious worldview then pretend all you want. White nationalism is about blood, soil, fraternity and freedom. If rejecting metaphysics is Marxist then call me comrade.

  9. metaphysics
Branch of philosophy concerned with providing a comprehensive account of the most general features of reality as a whole; the study of being as such. Questions about the existence and nature of minds, bodies, god, space, time, causality, unity, identity, and the world are all metaphysical issues. From Plato onwards, many philosophers have tried to determine what kinds of things (and how many of each) exist. But Kant argued that this task is impossible; he proposed instead that we consider the general structure of our thought about the world. Strawson calls the former activity revisionary, and the latter descriptive, metaphysics.

  10. “Yes one of the stranger things I have ever read was ‘Hitler was a direct product of Enlightenment Philosophy’…”

Yes, if I’m not mistaken, I think the late Erik von Kuehnelt-Leddihn dabbled in that line of argument.

  11. Lena – I know what metaphysics is, and it’s dead as a discipline. That doesn’t mean philosophers and others conclude anything concerning science. Read on in your little dictionary.

  12. Rick, you didn’t know what metaphysics was, talking abouth myths and such as opposed to Epistemology, Onotology, and Ethics. Your Blood and Soil belongs to metaphysics. Not that you would know it. You are a liar. As such there is nothing to discuss with you, and I hope Lena refrains.
