Amren 2.0

In Hatewatch, Larry Keller speculates about the future of the biannual Amren conferences. The question he tackles is whether or not local clubs are the answer to anti-fascist harassment. I think there is a lot of merit in this idea.

As I have said repeatedly, the main reason people go to these conferences is for the networking, camaraderie, friendships, and behind the scenes action. I’m told some attendees have found mates there. The real conference takes place in the casual conversation that goes on in the breaks between speakers, at lunch, at the bar, at dinner, and after hours in the hotel rooms. The scheduled lineup of speakers is really just an excuse for geographically dispersed racialists to gather in a central location. It is a shame that Amren only puts on this show every two years.

We all know by now that public conferences have serious drawbacks. They attract anti-fascist scum who poison the environment and pressure hotels to cancel our reservations. Anyone can attend a public conference. This includes people who many of us would prefer to exclude. Antifa spies can attend, snap damaging photos, and use ritual shaming and guilt by association to damage the careers of high profile attendees. Lots of people don’t attend the public conferences for this reason. All of these factors combine to depress turnout.

A private conference has none of these disadvantages. The private model also retains the advantages that make a conference worth the expense of attending. If I was organizing a national conference, I wouldn’t even consider the public model. I would only invite people I know and trust and “known entities” who comrades can vouch for. The 2010 Amren conference was forced to adopt this model at the last minute. It is a superior model anyway and I hope future conferences will be organized along these lines. Next time around this should be done well in advance.

The catch of the private model is getting new people involved in Amren and the broader White Advocacy movement. Lots of good people show up at the biannual public conferences who don’t have a record of previous involvement in the pro-White scene. They don’t know anyone. Quite often their racial views are still evolving. I have two friends who attended previous Amren conferences at this stage of their development. We need a new mechanism for getting newbies to the national conference while filtering out potential spies and saboteurs.

Local clubs are the solution to this problem. Ideally, we could create Amren clubs in every state of the union and the major metropolitan areas. These private clubs could host monthly events at local restaurants, state parks, or historical sites. There is an endless number of potential meeting places for this type of social networking. It is my understanding that the Chicago group has been doing this for years. New recruits could meet established racialists in their local area. These established racialists could then decide whether to recommend inviting them to the private national conference.

The networking, camaraderie, friendships, and behind the scenes action that go on at the biannual conference, which only lasts a few days a year, could potentially go on around the clock all year long. The only thing better than the biannual gathering is having racialist friends in your local area, on your college campus, or within driving distance. OD is taking its first steps in this direction with the Virginia Network. We already have a few local people who are interested in organizing a regional book club and touring the local historical sites. In particular, I can’t wait to get the time to hike the Blue Ridge Mountains and go kayaking in the spring.

I’m learning how to do online social networking with Pip Pockets. We’re gradually learning the basics of Twitter, Facebook, Digg, and YouTube. We plan to fully exploit all of these mediums to amplify our message and increase the size of the OD audience. We’re also going to take a hard look at podcasts. I’ve joked around several times now about adding a “Radio Free Virginia” section to OD after the site redesign. Jim Giles is correct when he says that radio and video are more powerful than the written word. Most Americans don’t have the patience to read more than a few lines of text. This limitation alone severely restricts the size of our potential audience.

Amren could profit by moving in this direction as well. They should have a daily updated WordPress blog and Facebook page. Twitter is still a mystery to me, but Stuff Black People Don’t Like is building a huge following there. I’m told that every journalist in America is on Twitter now. Young people love YouTube. There are all sorts of missed opportunities to exploit with video. All of these social networking mediums could be exploited to organize racialists into a web of real world state and regional groups. Personal interaction in the real world will drain a lot of the poisonous acrimony, conspiracy mongering, character assassination, fantasism, and backbiting that prevails in racialist circles on the internet.

Just some food for thought. If Jared Taylor plays his cards right, I think Amren could emerge from all this stronger and more influential than ever before.

  1. Hunter, this is politics. You are just as likely, if not more likely, to be stabbed in the back by someone you know, as someone you don’t know!

If Taylor doesn’t sue—it’s going to look bad for Taylor. Very bad.

The New Rules of PR and Marketing is a book every racially aware white person must read. Yes, it is important to know history and to read the fine words of Oliver, Francis, McDonald and other crusaders for our people, but to fail to understand the changing dynamics of how ideas are spread, we are doomed.

Put down those fictional stories of rebellion and boring studies of IQ.. read a book that matters.

Hunter, I already told you to pick this one up. Read it on google for free. All ODers need to educate themsevels on the important changes in marketing.

  3. AmRen is a media outlet, a think tank, a journal. It’s not a membership organization in that sense. Jared needs precise control of the message and the actions performed in the name of the group. He also needs to limit the scope of discourse to his core objective – which is producing and spreading these valuable ideas.

Why reinvent the wheel? It seems that it would be prudent to utilize the CofCC and/or the A3P wheels which already exist.

The problem with social networking tools is that you’ll probably get pulled after you’ve invested quite a bit of time and energy into cultivating a base. This isn’t griefing; it’s what’s happened to the major pro-White groups. We’re at severe disadvantages on Facebook, YouTube, and with Google Ads.

The prudent path to me would seem to be creating and cultivating an A3P presence in Virginia. Occidental Dominion?

  4. I think it would be better for local groups to be autonomous from Amren as this provides them with more leeway in addressing the JQ. The object is to build a mass movement, and any mass movement that doesn’t get the JQ will be co-opted and driven off a cliff. And no, the vast majority of people will not get it unless it is spoon fed to them – I’ve seen enough to ever doubt that.

  5. Anyone could run with this idea. It doesn’t have to be Amren. Wikitopian has his own group in Indiana. We’re doing it now in Virginia. I think Greg has a group in California. There is no reason why similar groups could not be established in, say, Michigan or Pennsylvania.

  6. You’re thinking of a racialist Freemasonry for the 21st Century – without the funny hats and gobbledygook. I think that organizing such events in private clubs or homes is the correct approach. Additionally, with teleconferencing and the like, there’s no need for everyone to be physically at the same place. It’ll cut down the costs associated with travel. I think a bi-weekly meeting over good food and drink with somebody preparing and presenting a paper on a racialist topic is great. Organizing a super event every two years attracts too much attention and Leftist and minority scum. The only problem I see is the lack of anonymity that such venues will entail and the constant danger of a Judas in the midst. As you know White racialists face professional and personal ruin when outed. Who can afford to lose his or her job these days? Hence, a semi-conspiratorial atmosphere and methods might be necessary. Study Bolsheviks in pre-Revolutionary Russia and their cat and mouse game with Tsarist secret police.

  7. You’re giving them too much credit by calling them anti-fascists. Rather, they’re anti-fascist fascists or true fascists, as it were. Democrats and liberals don’t shut down their ideological opponents by means of intimidation and violence. We’re talking totalitarian Leftist thugs and hoodlums at heart. Nothing more.

  8. Hunter,
Host a monthly teleconference. There are free conference services on the web, but you could also probably use Skype, given how leet we all are. Structure, routine, titles, and tasks.

  9. “A private conference has none of these disadvantages. ”

This is a great idea, but even this could be fraught with trouble due to the sinister machinations of the Zionist Occupied Government.

Look at what they are trying to do to Christians in San Diego!

Sadly we are rapidly heading towards a ‘New Stasi’ suppressing Whites right here in this ‘Once White Country’!!! My advice: become well versed in the techniques used by Eastern European dissidents who lived under Communist (Lech Walsea, Alexander Solzhenitsyn, and Alexandr Dugin)

  10. It is a bad idea for Jared Taylor to sue anybody over the AmRen shutdown for one simple reason: DISCOVERY. Whatever anti-racist group he might sue can ask a judge to grant them access to the names of the conference registrants, perhaps even to AmRen’s subscriber list, in order to prepare their defense. Most judges would approve of such requests. Thus a lawsuit would deliver AmRen’s database into the hands of the enemy. That would simply be the end of American Renaissance. Taylor knows this, thus he will not sue.

  11. I would be humiliated if somebody posted the AmRen subscriber list.

    …I’VE LET MY SUBSCRIPTION LAPSE

    *comedy cymbals*

  12. I agree with Wikitopian. As I’ve already mentioned to you, I really think it would be worthwhile to look into starting your own Virginia A3P group. Why not try to extend something that’s already there?

  13. It is a bad idea for Jared Taylor to sue anybody over the AmRen shutdown for one simple reason: DISCOVERY. It’s a breach-of-contract cause of action. The elements are (1) contract, (2) performance by plaintiff, (3) breach by the defendant, (4) damages. You obviously overlooked the fact that the defendant hotel would already have the names of the registrants (because they had reserved rooms), and AmRen’s subscriber list is in no way relevant to any of those things. There are some bad judges out there, but it’s still hard to imagine any ordering disclosure of something so patently irrelevant. Moreover, even if a judge compelled such discovery, Am Ren could simply ignore the order and dismiss the case, or appeal.

  14. Ben, you couldn’t be more wrong. Greg J. is absolutely right that the wide scope of modern discovery would be reason enough alone to keep that matter out of court. Given the liberal rules of discovery, the other side could, and would, go on a fishing expedition. Given the court’s likely bias against AmRen, I’m sure arguing relevance would be fruitless. Believe me, I’ve been in litigation for years. It’s a loser under normal circumstances, a sure loser here.

But there is a deeper reason AmRen should not rely on the courts: we’re not fighting for Constitutional rights or some rights enforced by US or state law. Seeking redress from the same government that is systematically dispossessing us–to the point of actually deliberately importing Third World non-White, Muslim refugees to cities the government feels are “too white” (Minneapolis, Lewiston, etc.), is politically dumb, not to mention likely a waste of time and resources.

As if it’s a big secret, as if google and yahoo and AOL (Langley, VA) don’t have it already. Lulz.

Unless AmRen seeks consequential damages (highly unlikely), I can’t imagine any court I’ve ever been in allowing a “fishing expedition” in sensitive waters. You obviously practice somewhere very different.

  17. I would think that it’s the glaring civil rights law violations that should be pursued here. The criminal law violations, such as, death threats, ethnic intimidation, stalking, abridgement of constitutional rights, racial discrimination, etc. Specifically, was there a criminal act committed by the chief agitator and suspect? Furthermore, can law enforcement be charged with willful malfeasance for ignoring these torts?
As was mentioned before, if the roles were reversed, and Negroes or Jews were harassed like this, the system would have busted up the perps in a heartbeat. Why is there no White legal defense foundation in existence, since things have reached critical mass? Forget about political parties, what we need is a legal front.

  18. AmRen probably wrote hefty cancellation penalties into their contracts with the hotels. Thus they will probably receive substantial monies from the four hotels without litigation being required.

Suing one of the anti- groups would be a discovery disaster.

I repeat: Taylor knows this. He will not sue.

  19. Symbol Hijacker: It is wise to err on the side of cynicism RE the Feds and assume they are snooping into all of our affairs. The same is true with the big internet service providers. But they generally do not go out of the way to publicize that fact or the information they find.

So there is a world of difference between your hypothetical lists and placing the AmRen subscriber and registrant lists into the hands of tattlers and finger-pointers and rats who would immediately post them on the internet.

Do you see the difference? I have to ask, because all this “knowing” cynicism spread about the internet really boils down to the conviction that it makes “no difference.” But it does make a difference in this case, a big difference.

  20. ben – Our respective judgments re: discovery could be shaded by our practice experience in our given states and District Court, as you correctly point out.

  21. My gut response is that the courts are really their turf and the kind of money we’re talking about could be put to explosive use out here in the field. I’m not arguing against some kind of defense league, but it seems a bit like a suicide mission into the deepest darkest heart of the beast: DC lawyers.

    …Just sayin’.

That’s the difference between possible monitoring by the government, which despite all its problems is still a bureaucracy with rules that’s partially run by gentiles and slightly accountable to a gentile majority and private jew cabals like Google and Facebook which were probably created by jewry for the explicit purpose of spying on gentiles, are absolutely unaccountable to anyone, and which are under absolute jew control.

To give a specific example, the CIA might be illegally monitoring your web browsing and may even put together lists of right wing extremists (to use the ADL terminology), but they aren’t going to pass that information on to your workplace to get you fired, nor are they going to post it to the web so anyone considering hiring you will find a list of racists as the first result when searching your name and date of birth.

So Greg is quite right, government lists may be used against you at some time in a future Alex Jones outcome where the New World Order is rounding people up, but lists in the hands of antis can be used to harm you immediately.

  23. Greetings Hunter and to all OC readers. This is my first post here. I hope to make many more.

I have been an on and off again subscriber to American Renaissance Magazine since its inception, attended some Jared Taylor speaking engagements and closely followed the bi-annual conferences which have been solid successes. There is no substitute for meeting our people in person.

I am frankly very surprised that this was the first time that Antis were successful in breaking up the conference by using threats against hotel staff, threats of violent disruption.

This is just what Antis do. Antis use disruptions, threats of violence and minor real violence to censure even milk toast, mainstream “Conservative” speakers at college campuses and anywhere else.

This subject all comes down to “crowd control” and organization. How does a bar, social club, shopping mall attract the “right type of patrons” and keep out the “wrong types” – ones that will ruin the business. Of course there are racial, cultural groups that most bars, social clubs, neighborhoods, countries want to keep out, need to keep out.

    American Renaissance Dress Codes Work

When most regular White folks contemplate facing mobs of criminal Blacks, Muslim extremists, Reds, Anarchists etc, they tend to think that only paramilitary forces with big guns will have any chance of keeping order. But the reality is dress codes work really well.
When American Renaissance requires all attendees to wear a suit and tie – this actually works to keep out ~ 98% of the Antis who simply don’t know how to dress this way and would feel very uncomfortable doing so. And should any of the Antis actually find the way to dress in a suit and tie, it’s very unlikely that they will feel like rioting, throwing tables or water balloons filled with urine while they are dressed in Sunday church clothes.

    🙂

I’ve taught in inner city public schools, dress codes work. Anti mobs hate dress codes.

On the other hand, I also think it’s a good idea to have security done at our events by White motorcycle gang/club members like the Hell’s Angels did at the Rolling Stones concert at Altamont Speedway in California.

    🙂
