Tales From Detroit: The D Could Go Broke In a Week

Michigan

Paul Kersey’s Escape From Detroit was written in anticipation of the financial collapse of Detroit which should have happened in April.

The can was kicked down the road after a consent agreement over the city’s finances was reached with the state  … now it is June, and Mayor David Bing is warning that Detroit could go bankrupt next week if a lawsuit challenging that agreement isn’t dropped by Detroit’s own top lawyer:

“Detroit will run out of cash a week from today if a lawsuit challenging the validity of the city’s consent agreement with the state is not withdrawn, city officials said this morning.

Jack Martin, the city’s new chief financial officer, said the city will be broke by June 15 but should be able to make payroll for its employees. He said the city will be operating in a deficit situation if the state withholds payments on a portion of the $80 million in bond money needed to help keep the city afloat.

The battle ultimately could lead to an emergency manager if state officials deem the city to be in violation of the consent agreement that gives the state significant control over Detroit’s finances.

Deputy Treasurer Thomas Saxton told the city Thursday that the lawsuit against the consent agreement could force the state to hold back $80 million in revenue sharing that was used, essentially, as collateral for interim refinancing of bonds issued in March so Detroit would not run out of cash.”

Bing doesn’t have the power to stop Crittenden, one of his own appointees, from blowing up the consent agreement with her lawsuit. The D might get the emergency financial manager after all.

  1. It’s no skin off my nose either way. I’m doing a lot of fortification work on my house this summer in anticipation for the Chimpout in November, since a Romney victory is starting to look very likely.

  2. What was that expression a few months back?

    Cry me a river?

We cried a river of supposed “Black injustices” for fifty years. Let the dead bury the dead.

    The South was right.
    Secession. Now. Today. Forever.

  3. I expect it’ll be like the EU where in trying to prevent Greece going bust they ended up making Spain go bust instead. In this case i expect they’ll keep bailing out Detroit and it’ll be the state that goes bust instead.

  4. I take it that Crittendon is a black extremist. Our very own Greece situation, but my WAG is that the Dems will run from making much over it. It could expose the BRA cult and like the Wisconsin election if one of the cults is exposed like the union rackets were and the issue is all about them then the left loses. If it becomes like a game of survivor then who in their right mind would not vote the blacks off the island first?

  5. Apparently it’s Andrea Isom’s job to say: “He din’t do nuffins”, in professional TV reporter language. She does look a little heated up, though. Must have been those comments on wherever this video was posted.

  6. The video was hilarious, especially the white police chief bending over backwards to make excuses for the sleeping diversity.

313Chris, wise move not expecting these keystone bozos to rush to your defense when the next chimp out occurs. Romney will do his damnedest to try to lose but will win anyway.

  7. I’d like to say Robert O is wrong, but thats how I see it going down. The federal govt will bail out Detroit, Atlanta, CA and all the other DWLs wet dream locations and pass the bill on to middle White America

  9. Michigan Has At Least $10.13 Billion In Surpluses of the Taxpayers Money it is not using.

    Introduction

The State of Michigan at the State-level has approximately $10.13 billion of the taxpayer’s money it is not using, i. e. surpluses equal to $1,009 for every man, woman and child in Michigan or $4,034 for a family of 4. This does not include all the additional surpluses that exist in the school districts, cities, or counties in Michigan.

    *****Wake up people.It’s OUR money.

  10. Right, Loki, the government and its controllers hold immense wealth, while they cry for more. There is no need for taxation at all, when they can create money at will.

Detroit could become a “charter city,” such as some liberal activists are agitating to be set up in HAITI — a “non-profit COLONY” run by whites at our expense, for the benefit and education of the dark-skins who must live there by/under white rules — a “new colonialism” without the profit motive.

  11. Like the EU, the constant bailouts of failed entities moves the risk on to the balance sheets of the next higher organization. Eventually Detroit will bring down the state of Michigan and then the entire county and world if allowed to continue.

The us financial system will implode and this crap will stop. Probably a lot faster than most expect. I think the is is the last dominos to fall after Europe and Japan so user that for your estimated timeline. Maybe in time for the 3016 election

  12. Jesus, auto-correct is terrible. Thats what I get for trying to post with a phone on the crapper.

US is last domino to fall. Probably by 2016. Either the negro cities like detroit starve or big sister government takes what it needs by force to keep them from chimping.

Will be interesting. If the politicians fear the anger of the whites more than cries of “ray-cus-ism!” they will let the shitholes go. Whatever it takes to get re-elected, arson or death be damned.

So in some ways there is hope but in some ways there is none. It all depends on how and when the whites make their voices feared.
