Obama Losing Northeastern White Working Class Voters

Northeast

Check it out … Obama is down by 22 points with White voters in the Northeast since the 2012 election:

Note: He is down by 14 points with Midwestern Whites, 3 points in the South, and 16 points in the West.

“That’s why the wave of new polls showing a decline in President Barack Obama’s approval rating are potentially important. It’s not that these polls show Republicans poised to take back the White House by 2016, or something. That’s way too far away. Instead, the polls give us an idea of which voters are peeling away from Obama and, therefore, might be most receptive to switching sides if the GOP could craft a message for them. Trying to win over the voters sticking with Obama would presumably be more difficult. …”

Social Security is still the third rail of American politics. Woe be it unto any Republican (or Democrat) that doesn’t vote for steep defense cuts in order to preserve Social Security and Medicare especially before the coming mid term Congressional election where older voters *always* turn out in greater proportion to other voters.

Means testing might fly as would a steep rise in the amount of income subject to withholding taxes but any messing with benefits is extremely risky for incumbents. It’s a classic case of guns or butter. Of course it is quite likely that the entire fiscal house of cards could collapse of it’s own into an economic depression of monumental proportions at this point regardless of what they do in Washington.

  2. From the article:

Additional gains among white working class voters will almost certainly be part of the next winning GOP coalition.

With the GOP spitting in whites’ faces daily now? In whose bizarro universe will these “gains” happen?

  3. Relative to the needs and expectations of working class whites, Obama is an under-performer, relative to the GOP candidate in 2008 and 2012, he is an over-performer.

The GOP will have an opportunity to move in a new direction with Rand Paul, I am not sold that they will actually do that. In any event, defeat by Hillary is very likely.

  4. Afterthought writes:

“The GOP will have an opportunity to move in a new direction with Rand Paul”

    Jack replies:

Oh dear. Race denying Libertarianism, strict Constitutionalism, economic Conservatism – these are not new directions. They’ve been tried and failed for…

    Over 100 years !

The White working class hates Libertarianism, hates anything goes capitalism, always has, always will.

It’s sure fire guaranteed to lose, that LOSE, the opposite of winning.

The white working class like union collective bargaining, likes minimum wage, likes social security, hates selfish rich as@ holes that try to make White American workers in to lowest cost labor, brought down to the wages of illegal alien Mestizos.

Yeah, Libertarians – Rand Paul are on the side of the US Chamber of Commerce – “wages are too high”, American workers over payed, should have let Ford and GM go bankrupt….”

This stuff is absolute poison with the White working class.

Why does our side keep tring this Libertarian economic conservatism year after year after year…

    After year, after year?

    It’s a cult, a cult of losing.

The moral of the story is…

Don’t feed the Libertarians. Don’t let them in your home or…

    They will never leave.

  5. Cankles Hillary will need amore Plastic Surgery than a alien could survive to win 2016. She’ll be the spitten image of that old hag ‘journolista’ that just croaked.

  6. From the article:

It suggests that the GOP would be wise to focus on winning over the Midwest, where Obama’s approval rating is now at minus-23 among white voters. That’s consistent with recent polling in Iowa, where Quinnipiac shows Obama’s numbers falling off the table.

Surprisingly, Obama has a slightly higher disapproval rating in the Midwest than he does in the South, 50% to 49%. But that’s probably because of a split between the mildly pro-Obama South Atlantic states and the ferociously anti-Obama Transappalachian South.

Sean Trende has a lengthy article at RCP about racial voting patterns and how they pertain to the future of the GOP. It’s a lengthy 4-part series well worth reading, but if you don’t want to do that then check out Kevin MacDonald’s very good summary of it at the Occidental Observer. One thing that struck me was this map of voting trends by state since 1988:

    http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2013/06/25/does_the_gop_have_to_pass_immigration_reform_118952-2.html

Scroll down to the map labelled “Shift in PVI, 1988-2012”. Look at all the bright red states in the Mountain West, the Midwest and the Transappalachian South compared to the blue states on the coasts. Of the Bicoastal states, only Pennsylvania, Oregon and Alaska have moved towards the GOP since 1988, while of the Flyover states, only Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada have moved towards the Democrats.

Bill Clinton won the electoral vote in the Flyover states twice while Obama lost it both times. But Obama has strengthened the Democrats’ stranglehold on the Bicoastal states by twice winning the South Atlantic electoral vote, something Clinton was never able to do. In the Senate illegal immigration vote, the Bicoastal senators overwhelmingly voted for amnesty (32-4). The Flyover senators also voted for amnesty but it was much closer (36-28).

It looks like the emerging great divide in American politics is between the Bicoastal and Flyover states rather than between North and South. Look for the GOP to continue to make gains in the Midwest while the Dems try to consolidate their hold on the South Atlantic states.

  7. From ASIMOV, Isaac, Foundation (originally Doubleday: 1951) Bantam (New York: 2004) hardcover, page 134 (Part III, “The Mayors,” chapter 8)

A horse having a wolf as a powerful and dangerous enemy lived in constant fear of its life. Being driven to desperation, it occurred to him to seek a strong ally. Whereupon he approached a man and offered an alliance, pointing out that the wolf was likewise an enemy of the man. The man accepted the new partnership at once, and offered to kill the wolf immediately if his new partner would only cooperate by placing his greater speed at the man’s disposal. The horse was willing, and allowed the man to place saddle and bridle upon him. The man mounted, hunted down the wolf, and killed him. The horse, joyful and relieved, thanked the man and said, “Now that our enemy is dead, remove your bridle and saddle and restore my freedom.” Whereupon the man laughed loudly and replied, “Never!” and applied the spurs with a will.

COMMENTARY: The “horse” is the working class; the “man” is the coterie of intellectuals who hate their country or some aspect thereof, grouped around the teaching of Marx and his epigones both orthodox and heretical. When these come to power, it is an eventual trip to the glue-factory for the “horse” whereon they rode to power. This leads me to submit the analogy of a “Labour” party, to a malignant tumor in the Body Politic so unfortunate as to host it. I believe that the Left in the West has abandoned the working class.

I know there exist a myriad of examples of individual socialists expressing contempt for the workers who are their constituents, but these rarely see the light of day in cold print. It would be very worthwhile to collect such examples when they surface, and immortalize them on at least one website, also in an old-fashioned print-on-bound-paper book.

  8. I looked at the source article, Obama is sinking among white non-rich Democrats and independents outside the South. Now will the Stupid Party capture them by promising them then delivering on some immigration restriction?

Rudel: Here’s how to do that: Campaign on this line: “Which would you rather have? Military bases in Whereverstan or Medicare? We’re soon coming up on the time when we have to make the choice, but let’s make the choice now and choose Medicare.” People will gobble that up because they will understand it.

  9. Really, who cares. What difference does it make? In the next presidential election we will either get a Republican who pays lip-service to whites, then stabs them in the back, or a Democrat that openly pushes anti-white policies and stabs whites in the chest. Politics is professional wrestling.

  10. Actually, whites will never get, from the GOP, a candidate who pays lip service to us. Rather, what we will get, is a pusillanimous, mealy-mouthed, obsequious, sycophantic, media boot-licker who extols the virtueS of racial equality. And racial equality means promoting the interests of blacks and subordinating the interests of whites. That is what the GOP candidate will, once again, offer white Americans.

  11. Jack Ryan,

Ford was never in danger of bankruptcy. GM and Chrysler actually did go “bankrupt,” technically speaking, but they went “bankrupt” in a special bankruptcy route that Obama, Pelosi and Reid hurried up and passed because if GM and Chrysler would have declared bankruptcy in regular bankruptcy court, the pensions and health benefits of retired union workers probably would have been severely cut back. However, both GM and Chrysler still would be in existence even if they went through regular bankruptcy court, because their finances weren’t that bad and no court would have allowed important corporations in a crucial industry to be liquidated. But the kind of bankruptcy they did go through, the one that Democrats created in a hurry, put union retiree pensions and health care higher on the bankruptcy totem pole.

I also think that most people really don’t much care about the minimum wage because they want to make way more than the minimum wage. Of course, if this immigration bill passes, wages will go south in a hurry.

I agree with most of the rest of what you have to say. Problem is, with your dislike of capitalism, you leave me with the impression that you’re some sort of communist. I do know that in the past you have glorified East Germany. Of course, if East Germany was so great, why did they build a wall to keep East Germans from getting out?

G Prune: Maybe so, but what kind of Republican will win? Jeb Bush? No thanks.

  12. I can’t imagine he has much more floor to lose in the South.

The fickle northern whites will be quickly convinced to vote for obama’s lesbian doppleganger in the form of Hillary. These people are stupid.

  13. The reddening of Michigan and Wisconsin is due to demographics. Low immigration coupled with the conservative and religious right having more children then leftists have resulted in an accelerating demographic change.

  14. From the link:

” Incredibly, the poll now even shows Obama with a stronger approval rating among affluent whites than downscale whites—something that’s never happened for a Democrat in a presidential election.”

Anti-white, anti-white. Democrats and Obama are virulently anti-white. Somehow this is settling home among the middle and lower middle class whites so hated by the liberal establishment.

  15. Hunter said it best in the comment section of a thread some time ago: the point of republicans is to divert money and attention until it’s too late.

This article is a distraction at best and a plant piece to raise false hopes say worst.

Obama is polling lower? Is he running for election again? Democrats abandoned non Dwl whites? Didn’t they admit as much last election cycle?

Until a republican stands up and says “enough” and unites all the dispossessed tax payers, I’ll believe it wheni see it.

  16. In other news: i just returned from a business trip to our nations capital. I killed a few hours at the tysons corner mall before heading to the airport.
It truly is our nations capital: a huge ritzy mall and not a single person speaking English except a white teenager or two. But every variety of towel head, Asian, beaner or unknown was walking around aimlessly until about 5:30 when the working age whites got off of tax slave duty.

  17. Don’t get me wrong: this want like a trip to Walmart. All the mystery meat walking around was clean and well dressed. It felt like kuwait except that nobody was chain smoking inside and the pockets of aging fashion conscience baby boomers out enjoying some cultural enrichment (the high rent kind that isn’t risky).

Damn this country sucks….a mall with a fucking tesla dealership in it and for two hours the only attractive white girls were some sort of Persian doing the “baka laka daka” thing.

I bought a $80 razor handle from Solingen Germany so I’ll never need pay a dime to the Gillette or unilever companies again for disposables.

  18. This article is a distraction at best and a plant piece to raise false hopes say worst.

We’re notorious for our skepticism of the Northeastern Yankee around here. I shared this poll only because it was an interesting counterpoint.

I don’t believe Yankees are going to change their ways. I’m sure they are disillusioned with Obama, but we saw countless polls like this one during 2012, and when the chips were down and these people had to make the decision – Obama or Romney – they chose to renig.

I’m sure they will vote for the Democratic candidate in 2016.

  19. “Obama or Romney – they chose to renig”

Besides the greater Talmudic influence emanating from New York City and the eastern Megalopolis, union memberships are numerous north of the Line, more northern white people DESPISE the elitism of wealth that Romney represented and they are less supportive of Endless War that Romney represented more than Obama.

  20. In fact, however, Obama is just as representative of global elitism and imperialism as Romney. Both are figureheads for the same system.

  21. Now give them yanks credit they would not knowingly vote for an anti-white extremist only the moderate anti-whites if given a choice.

  22. I don’t believe Yankees are going to change their ways.

Sadly, I do expect them to return to their vomit in 2016. However, it should be remembered that the working class has endured less extensive brainwashing than the college-educated, so it is not impossible that significant numbers of them can awaken to their disenfranchisement even in New England.

…the malls in New England are already largely peopled by veiled Muslim matrons and their broods just like YT described in Washington.

  23. Republican polices have inflicted more damage on the white working class than any other group. The Democrat program must be severely alienating working class whites given this trend away from Obama.

I wish there was a way to channel this unrest in useful directions. Unfortunately, the system functions like a Swiss watch when it comes to dissipating unrest. By design, working class whites have nowhere to go. They can vote Democrat, or they can vote Republican. It’s a lose-lose proposition.

I wish someone would found an American Golden Dawn. We need an organization that weds hard-left economic populism to ethno-nationalism.

  24. Hard left economic populism, besides being a terrible idea, will not fly outside the northern union States. – roger u

Why is it a “terrible idea”? By hard-left populist, I just mean a program that ensures the working and middle class capture most of the wealth created by the economy. As it stands now, the super-rich capture most of it. Is there something about life under the heel of the .001%, Wall Street banks, multi-national corporations, and the US Chamber of Commerce that you believe people find appealing?

  25. “the polls give us an idea of which voters are peeling away from Obama and, therefore, might be most receptive to switching sides if the GOP could craft a message for them.”

Choices, choices, choices driving on the road. Turn left or right of the two tower franchise Inc. McDonalds or Burger King.

  26. “I also think that most people really don’t much care about the minimum wage because they want to make way more than the minimum wage. ”

You’re wrong. In the North, many workers, especially union workers, believe absolutely that their high wages are tied to and depend upon an ever increasing minimum wage. I frankly do not know the merits of this line of thinking, I’ve really never researched it to any great extent. I do know that union building trade wages and “prevailing wage” is tied to some extent to minimum wage and rises to some degree when there is an increase of the minimum wage. Again, I don’t know the exact details or dimensions of the matter. But like I said, REGARDLESS of the actual truth or falsity of the claims, a great many Northern people are 100 percent certain that in order to keep their high wages, there must be continuous and significant increases in the minimum wage. In other words, they very much do care about the minimum wage because they think the higher it is, the higher their “good” wages will be.

This is what they believe. Strongly, too.

  27. “Hard left economic populism, besides being a terrible idea, will not fly outside the northern union States.”

And a lot of the most populous Western states. And quite a few of the most populous Midwestern states. Like many, you drastically underestimate the PRIORITY of economic populism of the great masses of white people.

But, just taking your statement, the Northern union states are enough, anyway.

  28. I wish someone would found an American Golden Dawn. We need an organization that weds hard-left economic populism to ethno-nationalism.

Besides the American part, I wish the LS would go more in this direction. The LS’s quasi-libertarianism, their knee-jerk reaction against any hint of socialism, and their official policy of accepting Negroes are not helpful. The Golden Dawn, and Jobbik along with it, are the best organisations currently existing in the white world and we could all learn from them both in tactics and in worldview.

  29. The Golden Dawn, and Jobbik along with it, are the best organisations currently existing in the white world and we could all learn from them both in tactics and in worldview

By the way, the latest polls, released two days ago, show Golden Dawn at 14.5% support with their strongest support coming from young people.

Municipal elections are nine months away.

  30. “Jack replies:

Oh dear. Race denying Libertarianism, strict Constitutionalism, economic Conservatism – these are not new directions. They’ve been tried and failed for…

    Over 100 years !”

Relentless. There has to be more to this than what he’s telling us. He wastes far too much time on one father & son act when the other father & son act gets barely a mention. And, that’s the one that did do damage.

  31. Puggg,

“I also think that most people really don’t much care about the minimum wage because they want to make way more than the minimum wage.”

Not true. Even my conservative White friends up here in the North support increasing the minimum wage to keep up with inflation, which it hasn’t done since 1990. A large chunk of Whites will never make “way more than the minimum wage” because they aren’t blessed with the right skills and/or don’t have the luck of knowing the right people. That’s why we have the minimum wage – to protect Whites at the bottom who are incapable of climbing the social ladder due to lack of skills and/or lack of knowing the right people. Southrons might not care much for the minimum wage (no disrespect you guys), but we Yankees sure as hell care. On that note, I salute the Washington DC council for passing a “living wage” law that requires all businesses with at least $5 million in annual profits (i.e., Walmart) to pay their employees at least $12.50 an hour. Conservatism Inc. hated that law. I love it!

“if GM and Chrysler would have declared bankruptcy in regular bankruptcy court, the pensions and health benefits of retired union workers probably would have been severely cut back.”

Which is exactly why the White working class opposed the cuts in the first place. Why should their contractually guaranteed pensions and health benefits be stripped from them just so the shareholders can continue to rack in massive profits? There I said it. No one in this country has the “right” to make millions AT THE DIRECT EXPENSE of poor and middle class Whites. To assert otherwise is plutocracy, plain and simple. Plutocracy is anti-White. Henry Ford is the only rich capitalist I can think of who could be called pro-White, and even he showed his true colors (ahem) when he hired a bunch of blacks when White workers went on strike.

“I agree with most of the rest of what you have to say. Problem is, with your dislike of capitalism, you leave me with the impression that you’re some sort of communist.”

It doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Just because we aren’t capitalists doesn’t mean we support communism and vice versa. A mixed economy is the real solution. Norway has a mixed economy and is No.1 on the human development index.

“I do know that in the past you have glorified East Germany. Of course, if East Germany was so great, why did they build a wall to keep East Germans from getting out?”

From an economic standpoint, communism failed. Even William Pierce mentioned in his classic 1971 article, “Why conservatives can’t win,” that nations have ruined themselves with bad economic policy (i.e., a top-down government controlled economy). But from a social, cultural, and racial standpoint, orthodox communism actually shielded East Europe from the degenerative cancer of Cultural Marxism, hence why Russia is most traditional nation of all the White nations here in the 21st century.

  32. Lew,

“We need an organization that weds hard-left economic populism to ethno-nationalism.”

    Agreed.

However, I think there are a couple points we need to keep in mind, and they’re directly related to roger u’s comment: “Hard left economic populism, besides being a terrible idea, will not fly outside the northern union States.”

    1. For better or worse, Southrons simply don’t support strong unions, high taxes, welfare, and other left wing economic programs. Yankees have traditionally supported all those things. Combining hard left economic populism with ethnonationalism would potentially appeal to Yankees, but not to most Southrons. Even OD’s resident Chief supports abolishing the welfare state as a means of dismantling BRA, and from what I can tell, Hunter isn’t exactly an individualist capitalist. I don’t support the abolition of welfare – I only support abolishing it for non-Whites. There is no good moral reason why White taxpayers should have to fund EBT cards and food stamps for non-Whites under ANY circumstance. If non-whites want welfare, than other non-whites should fund it, NOT White taxpayers.

    2. It’s extremely important that Northern Whites in the movement make a distinction between economic leftism and social/cultural leftism. None of us are racial leftists, but I’m not at all sympathetic to the belief that there are a ton of pro-White Northerners who refuse to come out of the closet because the “damn rednecks” in the South are against gay marriage. It’s the “anything goes” social and cultural prescriptions that turn off me and many other traditional Whites from White Nationalism. You need something much more than “we’re all White!” to unite our people. Sam Francis warned about this way back in 1995, commenting on the differences between a skeletal movement and a fleshed out movement. Southern Nationalists, though they have many obstacles in front of them, are much more fleshed out than White Nationalists. There’s a common culture, common Faith, common history, common social values, etc. I personally don’t agree with all those values – for example, I think John Donahue was absolutely right when he said Roe vs. Wade lowered the crime rate in the long term. (Y’all should know what I mean by that). But I also don’t pretend that those values are meaningless and that Whites will ignore them in the name of saving their race. I also don’t think a white ethnostate is sustainable if it has an “anything goes” culture. There needs to be a common culture with common social values, and that culture needs to be based on traditional forms of White behavior – strong nuclear heterosexual families, lots of children, small tight knit communities no larger than 50,000, etc. Forget the propositional crap.

    Dissolve the Union

  33. “might be most receptive to switching sides if the GOP could craft a message for them”

Don’t worry, Grover Norquist is working overtime scaring off the monochromatic ones with promises of open borders, falling wages, increased unemployment and a drastically regressive tax system.

I’d like to see a map showing what the election results would have been if the only votes counted were those of old-stock White American men. (Protestant + Mormon = a good approximation of old-stock) I’m guessing Romney’s victory in 2012 would have been more lopsided than Monroe’s in 1820.

Not that Romney deserved the White support he got. On matters of substance, “centrist” Republicans are just as bad as Obama. Indeed, on two issues they are worse:
    1. Taxes – Norquist & Co. want to make the national tax system more regressive. This would increase the percentage of national taxes paid by the South/Midwest/Great Plains and decrease the share of national taxes paid by the Left Coast/Northeast. I repeat: regressive taxes at the national level would *increase* the percentage paid by the Alabama and *decrease* the percentage paid by Manhattan. (I realize that regressive taxes at the state and local level are good for White Americans in places like Alabama which have a large Black population and a miniscule Jewish population.)
    2. Foreign policy – Richard Perle & Co. want American “boots on the ground” in Syria and Iran, and they claim that Russia is our “biggest geopolitical adversary”. Bolshevik Jew Lazar Kaganovich destroyed Christ the Savior Cathedral in the 1930s, and capitalist Jew Jed Sunden recently hired foolish young whores, aka FEMEN, to desecrate the rebuilt structure. Are the neocons eager to finish the job? Thanks to Norquist’s “fair tax”, Adelson and his ilk wouldn’t even have to pay for it. Red-state good-old-boys would.

  34. Dan Poole,

For better or worse, Southrons simply don’t support strong unions, high taxes, welfare, and other left wing economic programs.

It’s unfortunate because they don’t understand that by rejecting economic populism, they’re offering up themselves as wage slaves to the corporate / banking oligarchy. Roger U may unintentionally fit in this category.

If I could give a tip to SNst opinion leaders, I’d suggest they study and promote the economic leftism of Huey P. Long, a Southerner. Long was no fool. He understood that Louisiana’s white working class, and Louisiana’s oil and gas resources, were being exploited by Standard Oil and east coast banking.

  35. A lot of white folks are financially hurting inside and outside the South. The time has never been better to move toward economic leftism.

Also, Golden Dawn served food to 10,000 Greek families. Nothing fancy. No bullshit. Just helping people and telling the truth.

    http://golden-dawn-international-newsroom /2013/07/10000-greeks-fed-today-solidarity-to.html

“Tens of thousands of Greeks were gathered outside the Central Offices of the Party to supply themselves with the goods they deserve! Despite the hot sun and the terror instigated by the Chief of the Police, the minister of Civilian Protection and the Mayor of Athens, 10.000 Greeks came to receive a helping hand and to show their support for the Social Nationalist Movement.

The Leader of the Golden Dawn hailed and was hailed by the People, spreading the message of the Resistance: We will not bow down to the thieves, the traitors, the criminals!

The comrades maintained complete discipline and order throughout the event, helping all those attended and giving priority to Greeks with large families. At the same time, they were giving water to all those waiting in line. In the end, many tonnes of meat, fish, pasta, vegetables and clothes were given to 10.000 Greeks that are facing the disastrous (and completely intended) results of the Memorandum and the EU.

  36. Mosin Nagant, here’s something off-topic about the security state. The House narrowly defeated a bill to curtail some of the NSA’s programs. The majority of the blacks in the House supported the bill. Quite interesting, I would say. Now as for Golden Dawn, I am sympathetic to an economically liberal, socially conservative ideology, but only with racial liberalism.

  37. “I wish someone would found an American Golden Dawn. We need an organization that weds hard-left economic populism to ethno-nationalism.”

I think that kind of organization would work best in the rust-belt states with a long union history.

  38. @Lew

“If I could give a tip to SNst opinion leaders, I’d suggest they study and promote the economic leftism of Huey P. Long, a Southerner. Long was no fool. In other words, the white working class is a nigger.

  40. Scott,

Why do you say that? You can’t have societal stability without a prosperous middle class and wealth as widely distributed across society as is feasible. That isn’t a nigger POV; it’s timeless wisdom vindicated by history in many times and places. I’ll repeat my comment / question for Roger U to you.

I just mean a program that ensures the working and middle class capture most of the wealth created by the economy. As it stands now, the super-rich capture most of it. Is there something about life under the heel of the .001%, Wall Street banks, multi-national corporations, and the US Chamber of Commerce that you believe people find appealing?

Amen. Southern nationalism DOES NOT have to spout the GOP economic position to gain credibility.

A lot of this attitude comes from Southern baby boomer GOP (Ronald Reagan) worshippers who spent the last 30 years getting educated on economics by Rush Limbaugh where even the slightest hint of the word socialism sparks violent anger.

Target the young who could care a less about Ronald Reagan and his BS.

  42. The Golden Dawn, and Jobbik along with it, are the best organisations currently existing in the white world and we could all learn from them both in tactics and in worldview.

I agree. If you are not looking at and copying Golden Dawn’s tactics, you are wasting time in my opinion. I look at what GD is doing and it’s exciting to see leadership that knows what to do for a change.
