Jair Bolsonaro Elected President of Brazil

Bolsonaro wins.

He won by 10 points over Haddad.

“RIO DE JANEIRO — Brazil on Sunday became the latest country to drift toward the far right, electing a strident populist as president in the nation’s most radical political change since democracy was restored over 30 years ago.

The new president, Jair Bolsonaro, has exalted the country’s military dictatorship, advocated torture and threatened to destroy, jail or drive into exile his political opponents.

He won by tapping into a deep well of resentment at the status quo in Brazil — a country whiplashed by rising crime and two years of political and economic turmoil — and by presenting himself as the alternative.

“We have everything we need to become a great nation,” Mr. Bolsonaro said Sunday night in a video broadcast on his Facebook account shortly after the race was called. “Together we will change the destiny of Brazil.” …”

As with Donald Trump, we’re going to reserve judgment and wait and see how this plays out. In the meantime, the crying and panicking has begun, so enjoy the lulz tonight.

Note: I’ve heard reports that Antifa are already rioting and being shot by police.

  1. I was starting to feel sorry about how worked up you were getting over this guy. I hate seeing you putting so much faith in these politicians only to watch break them your heart. 🙁

    😛

Brazil, as always, is a pretty good dowsing rod for where America is going. We’ll be a mongrelized, degenerate failure of a nation and we’ll still have bourgeois CivNat and AmNat morons in the upper third of the mudpile, thinking they can still vote their way back into national greatness.

  2. Fascist Brazil: Still coffee colored, but with more Church going, more uniforms, and more executions for criminals. Their IQ will remain unchanged so they will not be able to generate any real wealth. They will be a slightly more orderly third world dump.

    • lol This is an indication of why WN has failed for so many years. A White man, a nationalist and a populist comes to power in a large country that is 47% White. He does so by advancing a militantly Right-wing agenda, denouncing race-mixing, homosexuality and communism. And you write this off emtirely. WNs are hopeless.

  3. The benefit of Trump is most obvious overseas.

As we all understood during the 2016 campaign, America may be too far gone, but if we go down swinging, we help our brethren abroad.

Voting is part of going down swinging.

    • What kind of devout Christian is on his third marriage, makes casual comments to the press about spending his congressional allowance on sex, and claims that he wouldn’t even rape a female peer because she’s too ugly? This is like a Trump redux where too many evangelicals convinced themselves that he was a man of principle despite his near-constant history of ludicrous character failure. Maybe this guy’s policies will be good for Brazil but why make him out to be something he clearly isn’t?

      • I don’t know about personal morality but in most ways, Bolsonaro has far stronger parallels to Reagan than Trump. Everything about Bolsonaro vs. Haddad seems like a repeat of Reagan vs. Carter, not Trump vs. Clinton.

  4. Here was the event that changed everything in Brazil.

Germany defeating Brazil in the World Cup Soccer held in Brazil – total beat down something like 7-1. No other European country has ever won the world cup soccer when it was hosted in South America – well this one it did and I think the best women in Brazil decided, we need to make a change – get a German European leader.

  5. Forgive me if I have been misinformed, but I have heard that this guy salutes the US, is a Ziotard and a fan of Wall Street. So what if he likes talking of torture and military rule. What’s so great about him?

  6. Thoroughly enjoyed Let the Commies Hit the Floor – outstanding! Great vid, need more like them. Go Bolsinero, God bless Brazil.

  7. This event is HUGE – bigger than most people realize – and potentially world-changing. But most Americans haven’t even heard of Bolsonaro! Incredible that in a country as racially mixed as Brazil, a supposed “racist” (who has made a bunch of comments that make Trump seem like Obama) can win so convincingly. Goes to show the depth of hatred the ordinary folk have for the elites & PT.

  8. The real problem with Bolsonaro is not that he is a threat to “democracy” but that he is a threat to Brazil’s sovereignty. He wants to sell the country out to America and Israel. Everything you hear in the media is the same tired old NPC line “HE’S A RACIST, FASCIST, SEXIST, HOMOPHOBIC” and nothing about the actual danger he poses which is a geopolitical one. Because the Jew journalists don’t see that as a threat.

It’s really the same thing with Trump.
