Tucker Carlson Is Open To Endorsing Andrew Yang’s Presidential Campaign

FOX News Insider:

“Tucker Carlson said Thursday that automation and AI could eliminate millions of American jobs and only one Democrat is bringing it up.

The issue has been central to the campaign of entrepreneur Andrew Yang, who has also proposed a $1,000-per-month universal basic income to address the predicted job losses.

“I want somebody to tell the truth about it,” Carlson said on “Fox News @ Night,” adding that he’d be open to voting for someone like Yang who “thinks deeply” about a critical issue like automation.

Carlson said the issue is “completely real” and will also affect sectors of white-collar America, like the medical and legal industries. He said at the same time, millions of people are coming into the United States, filling jobs that may not even exist in five to 10 years.

“Nobody’s talking about it, cuz ‘Russia!'” he said. …”

If Tucker Carlson decided that he had seen enough and was willing to throw his hat into the ring and challenge Blompf for the Republican nomination, he would be saving me a lot of trouble. Unfortunately, there is no one who is running on both UBI and a sane immigration policy. All the people who are currently mad about Yang’s position on immigration would rally behind Tucker.

Note: I’m not really concerned about this because I expect Yang will move to the center after winning the Democratic nomination. He is a moderate anyway and will easily gel with populist voters.

  1. Automation won’t go very far in America because of political, cultural and social factors. Not technology.

In Europe, repetitive tasks that can be done with little or no thought, have been automated. Which they should be.

This is largely in packaging and material handling, typically areas where Human resources have had trouble in keeping up with the output of machinery.

Jobs that involve, pick up the metal part off the skid, stick it in the press, step on the pedal/mash the buttons, take the part out and put it on another skid, do it 300 more times, or until break time, are becoming automated, or already are, in the outside world. But not here. And maybe never.

  2. “Carlson said the issue is “completely real” and will also affect sectors of white-collar America, like the medical and legal industries.”

Typical statement by those with no practical experience in industry or with construction and farm work.

Any repetitive tasks that can be done with little or no thought, are candidates for automation.

Automation removes the drudgery from work. It frees up some people for more enjoyable and mentally challenging tasks. But it leaves the more numerous dullards and slugs unemployed and unemployable.

But none of that matters, because the Judeo-Capitalist-Communists will never allow America® to stay up with the rest of the world.

  3. So when Yang becomes the “Tonto” to Biden’s “Lone Ranger” in the next election,..are you STILL going to support him, Brad?
