The GOP is going to learn quickly and brutally that running a Campaign on “muh Socialism” fear-mongering is going to fall flat on its face with every age group under the age of 50.
Because, you see, younger Generation X, Millennials, and the first wave of Zoomers care about things like crushing student loan debt, rising rent costs, the lack of any employment possessing hope of advancement, and the dearth of employment paying more than $12/hr.
They don’t necessarily care about fulfilling heretical interpretations of Biblical prophecy, the rising DOW and median wage numbers that mean nothing when compared with $10-$12/hr retail gigs, or the idea of starving out a poor Brown country to ignite civil war in the name of “Democracy.”
“Women of color have heard this before. Instead of ‘We disagree,’ it’s ‘She doesn’t know what she’s talking about,’” Omar tweeted. “They have to make us feel small. This from an Administration that thinks climate change is a Chinese hoax.”
Earlier in the day, Pence accused Omar of not knowing “what she’s talking about” after she appeared to lay some responsibility for the ongoing situation in Venezuela on the Trump administration over its “bullying” tactics and sanctions.
Freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., fired back at Vice President Pence on Friday after he took issue with her remarks on the escalating tensions in Venezuela.
Earlier in the week, Omar made comments on PBS’ “Democracy Now!,” saying that “a lot of the policies that we have put in place has kind of helped lead the devastation in Venezuela and we have sort of set the stage for where we are arriving today.”
“This particular bullying and the use of sanctions to eventually intervene and make regime change really does not help the people of countries like Venezuela, and it certainly does not help and is not in the interest of the United States,” she added.
She is one hundred percent correct with this statement – America is now famous for utilizing economic blockade, sanctions, and embargoes to strangle nations perceived to be “the enemy” in order to stir internal tensions, humanitarian crises used to justify intervention, and overall misery for those in the line of fire.
The script for Venezuela was played almost identically with Saddam Hussein’s Iraq – minus the assertions of WMD (for now).
Pence separately took issue with those remarks on Thursday, accusing her on Twitter of picking “socialism over freedom.” He went on to extend the administration’s support to “the freedom-loving people of Venezuela.”
The man was literally reduced to becoming a walking meme of the declining Boomer generation – a clown that cites nonsense like “freedoms” while American youth struggle with wage slavery and heroin overdoses.
Can anyone reasonably imagine Pence winning a 2020 VP debate against someone like Tulsi Gabbard?
It would be “Shock and Awe” in terms of a beat-down.
