Hallmark Pulls Ad That Features Brides Kissing At The Altar

This was on the Hallmark Channel.

ABC News:

“NEW YORK — Under pressure from a conservative advocacy group, The Hallmark Channel has pulled ads for a wedding-planning website that featured two brides kissing at the altar.

The family-friendly network, which is in the midst of its heavily watched holiday programming, removed the ads because the controversy was a distraction, a spokesperson said in an interview Saturday.

“The debate surrounding these commercials on all sides was distracting from the purpose of our network, which is to provide entertainment value,” said a statement provided by Molly Biwer, senior vice president for public affairs and communications at Hallmark. …”

New York Times:

“We are not allowed to accept creatives that are deemed controversial,” an account representative for Hallmark responded.

The Hallmark Channel spokesman suggested on Friday afternoon that the issue was the couple’s kissing. “The decision not to air overt public displays of affection in our sponsored advertisement, regardless of the participants, is in line with our current policy, which includes not featuring political advertisements, offensive language, R-rated movie content and many other categories,” he said.

Only four of the ads were rejected as controversial, however, according to the email exchange with Zola and several of the company’s representatives. In one of the two ads that were permitted to continue to air, a bride and groom kiss passionately at the altar. …”

There were six of these ads.

It appears there was a White couple, a black couple and a lesbian couple and various mashups. This was the toxic ad that was pulled.

  1. There was a time, I am told, when TV was considered a guest in the viewer’s home. Networks and sponsors went out of their way NOT to offend anyone. Now they feel it’s their right to rub your nose in their cultural Marxist horseshit.

  2. Who even buys their ridiculously over-priced cards anymore? Do it the old-fashioned way. A hand written note – in cursive, of course – with all the right words is far more special than anything these corporations have to offer. And, it’s much, much cheaper.

  3. When corporations like Chick-Fil-A and Hallmark are willing to alienate their customer base, you know cosmopolitan convergence has made it to the executive level. That means the corporations most likely have knowingly hired people hostile to the company and its clientele. Are some members of the elites competing among themselves to see how quickly they can destroy family-friendly brands?

  4. In the New York Times (((arts))), tweeter feed all of the tweets that are complaining are ????????

  6. Although we rightly decry capitalism’s embrace of wokeness, it’s useful to remember the fact that “money talks” still works in our favor some of the time.

  8. The connect has to be made between Christianity, truth, fidelity to wife and family, and love of ones own versus the Moshiach, the Jew messiah, the anti-Christ anal sodomy, destruction, and ruin. It is getting pretty obvious now.
