Joe Biden Embraces COVID Authoritarianism

I’ve never cared about vaccines or flu shots.

It is a huge issue for some people on both sides. My simple view of the matter has always been that every adult is responsible for their own health. Those who want to get vaccinated should be able to get vaccinated. Those who don’t want to get vaccinated have that right. COVID vaccines are now widely available. I don’t see why it is such a big deal in the context of all our other problems.

If you can’t get off your ass and go down to Walgreen’s and get “the jab,” why on earth should anyone else care more about your health than you do? Why should vaccinated people be forced to wear masks? This makes no sense whatsoever. This should have been over when the COVID vaccines became widely available and deaths from COVID flatlined into the summer. The reason it isn’t over is because COVID was the issue that put Joe Biden in the White House. The Democrats can’t let go of the issue because all the other issues which are popping up – illegal immigration, violent crime, gas prices, inflation, etc. – are so unfavorable for them. They also can’t resist the temptation to mind and meddle in other people’s business. This is why they have the government censoring the internet and “the intelligence community” spying on your phone.

Is it worth it? It isn’t even close to worth it when the people who are actually at risk of dying from COVID, which is to say, sick and elderly people have mostly been vaccinated. Forcing vaccinated students to wear masks and submit to weekly COVID tests has nothing to do with “science.” The same is true of forcing young and physically fit people in the military to be vaccinated. It is nothing but a power trip. Cases of the Delta variant are irrelevant. If deaths from COVID have dropped to a negligible level, it is simply no longer a crisis. It is just an excuse to bully people and force them to jump through endless hoops.

Once again, the crisis is over when the dying stops, which is what Joe Biden himself was saying less than two months ago. The ballgame is over. There is no justification for dragging this out.

Note: Ben Domenech is right. This has left the realm of being a health concern and is now nothing but pure culture war and politics.

  2. I don’t think the Deep State is going to win this one. I think they have dreams about rounding up all the antivaxx Trump supporters but there are way too many antivaxxers at this point in the US. People on the left are coming over also.

      But if you have the vaccine already, you’re protected against Covid already. Or so the provaxxers say. One of two things is going on here:

      1. The vaccine works, and the vaccinated have a small chance – less than 1%, according to that New York Post headline – of contacting Covid. In that case, the unvaccinated are only putting themselves at risk, not others. In this scenario, your “spread to other people” argument from is bullshit.

      2. The vaccine doesn’t work and/or isn’t effective enough to prevent vaccinated individuals from contacting the disease from the unvaccinated, who should then be forced to take said vaccine, which wasn’t strong enough to stop the vaccinated from getting the disease. In that scenario, your belief that “the vaccine works and is safe!” is bullshit.

      Either way, you’re spewing shit. Your real agenda is totalitarianism. You’re a Racist Liberal, which is effectively no different than being an anti-racist liberal.

      When I have the flu or cold, I generally stay inside. When I don’t show or feel any symptoms, I go outside and do my thing, and if I happen to be carrying around the flu or cold, I don’t particularly care. I refuse to wear a mask or stay inside just because someone else might catch something from me. Thankfully, more and more Americans are figuring out that mentality. Let Freedom Ring.
