As with Howard Zinn, the legacy of James Loewen’s lies will live on long after his death.
“NEW YORK (AP) — James W. Loewen, whose million-selling “Lies My Teacher Told Me” books challenged traditional ideas and knowledge on everything from Thanksgiving to the Iraq War, has died. He was 79.
Loewen’s publisher, New Press, announced that the author died Thursday at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. A professor emeritus at the University of Vermont who lived in Washington, D.C., he had been diagnosed two years ago with Stage IV bladder cancer, enough time for him to post “Notes toward an obituary” on his website.
“Telling the truth about the past helps cause justice in the present,” was his guiding principle, he wrote. “Achieving justice in the present helps us tell the truth about the past.”…”

I am glad you mentioned this. The damage caused by Loewen and Zinn is immeasurable especially Zinn. These two singelhandedly changed the mindset and culture of young white students like no other offering two paths. The one most children took, “America is an evil white supremacist country and it is your fault” or the path I took “these slimey cowardly f*cks think they are going to break me? Its not going to happen”.
I failed a course once for refusing to change my stance on Zinn’s kosher anti white propaganda. The girls all ate it up though
