I do snicker somewhat at the whole “Libertarian” thing. I knew a bunch in college and understood that their primary motive at the time in the early 90s for swallowing that whole philosophy hook, line, and sinker was to smoke weed. But somehow that one selfish motivation meshed with a overly intellectual “whiteness” style instincts to create a catechism type all encompassing ideology and they were talking nonsense such as privatizing the army, etc. Other types of people, most middling IQ whites, other races, etc have no problems being hypocrites over some issue that is important to them regardless of how it may seemingly conflict with other things they profess.
However I do think the Paul’s mean well. You never want this type of philosophy in charge, but it’s always good to have one voice like this among the choir. Sometimes it’s best to let nature take it’s course, i.e. you don’t squander eight thousand dollars on medical treatment for the family pet, however when one of your actual family members needs medical care you don’t apply that type of reasoning to dictate your decision in this situation.

As a quick aside I could not help but notice the arguments here on libertarianism. Well my religion considers individualism to be a mortal sin and that includes libertarianism. Laws are made for society as a whole and the common good and a lawful government derives it’s authority from God not the people. The whole concept of americanism is foreign and is not compatible with legitimate catholicism.
After all we Catholics have a totalitarian religion that governs all aspects of our lives.
