Executive orders are nice.
It is what we expect from an incoming administration.
This could potentially be a far more significant development though: vulnerable swing state Democrats surrendered on immigration and voted to pass the Laken Riley Act. Immigration legislation uncoupled to amnesty for illegal aliens is clearing the filibuster in the Senate.
Once again, the way things usually go is that the House passes all kinds of red meat messaging bills to make the base happy, the opposing party blocks it in the Senate with the filibuster, NGOs sue and it gets tied up in federal courts for years. That’s why it seems like nothing ever happens.
Note: Trump is now well above my expectations with the January 6 pardons and immigration legislation.
That’s an interesting development. The 35 nays can be labelled as supporters of rapist-invaders, which is of course exactly what they are. Two “Independents” (Sanders of VT and King of ME). Rest of the scum are D-rats.
@Hunter Wallace,
“Note: Trump is now well above my expectations with the January 6 pardons and immigration legislation.”
Indeed. Nonetheless, it aligns with your general assessment of the Trump arc going into this direction when arguing with the various ((Neo-Nazis)), ((Reactionaries)), and Crypto-Commies commenting on this site both during the campaign and unti these first glorious days.
Nonetheless, this collective for the People’s Commission of the Dissident Right Commentariate has continued to point, spit, and sputter “Duh, Jews!” and accusing Trump of being King of Isreal.
At this point in the first few days of Trump’s Administration and the manifold examples that he means business, the Dissident Right Commentariate is like Wojack, pointing and sputtering “Duh, Jews!” You should do a meme using Wojack mocking them and do a deep dive into the contradictions of the Dissident Right in light of Trump’s successes. Otherwise, as Ironic Sock Account mentioned elsewhere, the movement is vulnerable to descending into utter irrelevance and extinction.
I agree that lots of people sputter on about the Jews like a broken record like it is the 1980s or 1990s.
