Is this a recipe for success? Maybe not—but it sure is a spectacle. It’s hard not to think of the movie Idiocracy, where the line between satire and reality gets awfully blurry. Maybe that’s the point: to laugh at the madness, just like we do with German public TV.

For the overwhelming majority of White people in my area (people who the “movement” has never had any traction with because it is full of bizarre weirdos), they grew up with “Fort Benning” and “Fort Rucker” and just dislike the disorienting, Biden era “woke” name changes. Those people will be satisfied with the return of familiar names to familiar places.

The bases are just being re-named in name only. The Army found other people with the same last names. Totally unsatisfying to all parties this way. I know I’m disappointed, but I don’t know what I really expected, except that Trump in the speech linked in the video posted above said “Fort Robert E. Lee!” The base is just some named for a black medal of honor recipient named Lee, etc.
Well I assume you’ve by now heard this was not what any of us thought. A easy mistake since he literally said Robert E Lee and A.P.Hill. Instead there named after folks with the same last name or initials. Fort Lee is now named after a buffalo soldier (black) of the Spanish-American war Fitz Lee and there are at least three union soldier’s possibly more and another black fellow as well.
This is probably one of the dumbest things I’ve seen in a while.
