Southern governors like Tate Reeves of Mississippi see AI data centers like Japanese automobile plants and are going out of their way to lure them here. AI deregulation has been a big focus of Trump 2.0.
Note: Personally, I would settle for low crime and potable water in Jackson, but our hands are tied by the Voting Rights Act and all the various federal civil rights laws.
AI is basically an advertising medium, nothing more, nothing less.
Most major universities have been playing around with robotics since the 1970’s or before. AI has robotic possibilities, but, this is nothing new, and Mississippi, and Alabama might want to try re-inventing the wheel.
Oh, well. West Virginia has poured millions, maybe billions into WVU’s civil engineering programs, and are yet to discover that water flows downhill, and parking lots, roofs and roads add to water runoff.
