Federal Judge Strikes Down Trump Asylum Ban

I think we can all agree that the greatest accomplishment of Trump’s second term has been the decline in illegal immigration at the border from late January through July.

NPR:

“A federal judge in Washington, D.C. ruled Wednesday that the Trump administration cannot deny entry to people crossing the southern border to apply for asylum. The court found that neither the constitution nor federal immigration law allow the president to make that decision.

The proclamation to deny entry to asylum seekers at the southern border was issued by President Trump on his first day in office.

Asylum has been part of U.S. law since 1980, allowing those who fear for their safety to seek refuge in the U.S. as long as they can show a credible fear of persecution in their home country. In the past, other U.S. presidents had attempted to make asylum seeking more difficult, but the scope of Trump’s order was unprecedented. …”

We have celebrated the turnaround.

This decision could potentially unravel that progress.

It has been less than a week since the Supreme Court ruled on the tyranny of federal district court judges trying to usurp power from the executive branch. That’s why I didn’t feel the need to chime in every single time a Trump policy hit a speed bump like this in a lower court. I figured that the Supreme Court would eventually put a stop to it. This is the first attempt to exploit a loophole.

  1. Another day, another decree from a lawless imperial Blackrobe. There will always be a loophole and there will always be some clown to exploit it.

We do have to give the Trump admin points for stopping the flow across the border. The GOP (which is really still the GOPe, despite all victory claims from the Tangerine team) is worse than useless on the issue as a significant percentile of blackrobed clowns were appointed by R-jerseys and nearly all were approved by a significant number of J-jersey AIPAC stooges in senate seats. The only way to get rid of them is to force their retirement or remove them with felony charges. The house and senate are at least a corrupt and controlled as the blackrobed clowns themselves are.

If Musk is serious about launching a new party, he should concentrate heavily on congress and state houses. The thing that third parties alway fall on their asses about are these races, which are not as glamorous as those for president, but very important nonetheless. Imagine if 1/3 of congress were neither R-jerseys or D-jerseys (and not owned by AIPAC and its many sister-pacs). The uniparty would have a more difficult time getting anything done, which is a good thing.

  2. We will see if Trump is still playing this game. Almost 5 years now he has used the judges to escape blame for his perfidies. Nothing in the Constitution gives lower courts the power of Judicial Review. The Supreme Court has it, but a simple majority vote in Congress (both houses) can remove it.

That Jew is just testing Trump, to see if he is still playing that game.

  3. Andy Jackson, had a similar situation, what was it , he was said too have remarked, to the supreme Court of that time ? ” they made their ruling, not let them enforce it ” or something to that effect, oh ya, a bonafide constitutional crisis, in the making, yes, entertaining and very interesting …….
