House Republicans Block Release of Epstein Files

There is another vote on it coming up this afternoon.

Democrats are now demanding that Trump release the Epstein files and are forcing votes on it. Rep. Hank Johnson of “Guam might capsize” fame even wrote a stupid song about it.

Axios:

“House Republicans on Monday night voted against attaching a Democratic amendment to landmark cryptocurrency legislation that would force the Justice Department to release the Jeffrey Epstein files.

Why it matters: It’s the outcome Democrats anticipated, and one they plan to gleefully cite as President Trump continues to grapple with the MAGA fallout over the DOJ’s handling of the documents. …”

Charlie Kirk is now saying we need to trust the government and stop talking about it. Trump’s approval rating in the Rasmussen daily tracking poll has been plunging since the Iran strike.

  1. Most of the MAGA voters, even if it unsettles them a bit, will accept Trump’s new position on Epstein files. I recall some Trump voting relatives a few years back, in the space of a few months, making arguments both for and against the Electoral College, all based on whether they thought it would get Trump elected.
Democracy is untenable long term. The masses are not intelligent enough or principled enough to make the system actually work.

  2. Imagine being such a good right wing politician, you manage to make it look like 2025 Democrats are going to protect the kids from pedo inc.

  3. Charlie Kirk should just do his best impression of Dax Shepard’s character in Idiocracy and say “I like money.”

  4. The Democrats no more want the Epstein files published than do the Republicans. Both sides are guilty as hell of sex with underage girls (and boys) and other crimes, too. Where there is prostitution, there is also money laundering, tax evasion, illegal drugs etc. Ask Hunter Biden about that.

The Democrats correctly see this as a free shot at the Republicans for being their usual, hypocritical selves, preaching about morality and “conservative” values, whatever those are. Trump and MAGA got their tits caught in a wringer over this one, and they deserve it. The Democrats are gambling that they can demand the release of the Epstein files but that Trump will successfully prevent that. They would get crushed too if the files were released.

The Usual Suspects are at the center of this scandal, they cannot afford for all the truth to come out. Perhaps Trump thinks a nice, short, victorious war will help people forget all about this scandal and all his friends’ involvement in it. His BFF 6,000 miles to the east has his own political problems too and great minds do think alike so look out below.

  5. Wait, this was a rules committee decision on an amendment to a bill concerning an entirely unrelated subject?!? If I was on that committee I might have voted against it too, for that reason. I despise the practice of bundling together unrelated topics that way, because you can never really tell which was the topic that led someone to vote the bill up or down.

Give us a bill solely devoted to releasing the files and then let’s see where the chips land.

  6. When I voted for Trump, I had no great expectations. He was, seemingly, the lesser of two evils. At this point all but his most hard core supporters give him any credibility.

You can forget about mass deportations too. Voting changes the names and faces but the same anti-White, un-American plot carries on.
