Yoram Hazony: What Winning Looks Like, and How We Could Lose

Yoram Hazony’s full speech from NatCon 5 is out.

As the architect of Ziopopulism, which has replaced True Conservatism in the Trump era, I think his thoughts on the state of the movement are worth watching. Basically, Ziopopulism concedes most of the traditional nationalist demands – on immigration enforcement, on mass deportations, on stopping the Great Replacement, on cultural degeneration, increasingly on race, on confronting anti-White discrimination, on addressing trade imbalances, and so on. It makes space for all that in the mainstream. I know there are people who disagree and there is a lot to criticize about the way Trump had addressed these issues like his whimsical tariffs, but I think a good faith effort is being made.

In exchange for all of these various concessions, we are invited to support Netanyahu’s mad policies, which go far beyond what was tolerated in the days when the Republican establishment gave lip service to the two state solution. We will secure the border for you, but you got to look the other way when Israel “erases Amalek” and carries around the bodies of dead Palestinians in bulldozers. Hazony and other Ziopopulists cannot wrap their minds around why this deal is so divisive and unsatisfying.
