I have one last prediction for 2026.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani will be a disaster for New York City.
By the end of the year, the bloom will be off the rose and his approval rating will be in the toilet. Mamdani will have become a punching bag for the GOP and an albatross for Democrats.
Far from reviving New York City, Mamdani will only accelerate existing trends. More transplants will leave New York and move to Florida which is only becoming more and more Republican. Florida is now a larger state than New York and will add even more seats in Congress in the 2030 Census.
Zohran Mamdani becoming mayor of New York will further aggravate housing prices in Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina where New York’s tax base is escaping to.
