I have one last prediction for 2026.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani will be a disaster for New York City.
By the end of the year, the bloom will be off the rose and his approval rating will be in the toilet. Mamdani will have become a punching bag for the GOP and an albatross for Democrats.
Far from reviving New York City, Mamdani will only accelerate existing trends. More transplants will leave New York and move to Florida which is only becoming more and more Republican. Florida is now a larger state than New York and will add even more seats in Congress in the 2030 Census.
Zohran Mamdani becoming mayor of New York will further aggravate housing prices in Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina where New York’s tax base is escaping to. Nothing will be done about Zionism. Benjamin Netanyahu won’t be arrested and put on trial for war crimes. Crime and homelessness will get worse in New York and the Sunbelt will remain more affordable.
MAGA will fail in 2026, but the Sanders-Mamdani vision of “democratic socialism” will also flop.
New Yorkers don’t care who you elect as president of your trailer park in Inbredville, AL so why do you care who the mayor of NYC is, Wallace?

I do think he will end up aggravating the ongoing, decades long exodus from New York which has driven up housing prices in Florida and all over the Sunbelt.
No one moves from Inbredville, AL to New York City anymore. The flow is outwards to our trailer parks. You can live in a trailer in Alabama with 5x the space for 1/10th of the cost that you would pay in New York and without the crime and taxes.
What happens up there matters in the sense that waves of refugees end up moving here. COVID alone completely changed the politics of Florida. Zohran Mamdani isn’t the future as you will find out this year.
