I figured 2026 would be the year that MAGA would collapse under the weight of its own internal contradictions. I didn’t anticipate it would happen so soon or over Venezuela.

MAGA will continue to exist as a cult of personality for the types of people who are fans of Ted Cruz, Nikki Haley, Marco Rubio, Lindsey Graham, Tom Cotton, Ben Shapiro. It might attract some former Never Trumpers. It is bleeding out nationalists, populists, libertarians, former Alt-Righters, Rust Belt Independents, etc. The people who were repulsed by George W. Bush era neoconservatism and who wanted to put “America First” and who backed Trump in the primary in 2016 will move on.

  1. If I were a presidential advisor, I’d tell Trump to officially keep the United States out of any attacks on Israel’s enemies but take a page from LBJ’s book.

    Trump should take a page from Lyndon Baines Johnson who could Bill Clinton a thing or two about being slick and slimy by having any Americans he selects to fight for Israel actually fight under Israel, donning the IDF uniform and using Israeli planes, etc.

    LBJ did precisely this during the Six Day War that repelled a united attack by many Arab states and not only did Israel get more territory but thanks to the Great Wurlitzer, was extolled all over hell’s half acre as this plucky little country of Davids fending off all these Goliaths trying to destroy it.

    I was living near a military base during June of 1967 as a child and all I remember is that almost all of the military families had fathers who had to go out of the country on temporary duty for “training” that week.

    Later, Clinton would have Americans bombing Serbia wearing blue UN helmets. Another red flag to me.

    In any case, Trump could do the same but use highly paid mercenaries who used to be in either the American or NATO military to fly Israeli planes to attack Iran.

    This neoNeoCon strategy of the Trump is inappropriate and ill-advised for an administration that doesn’t want to be further hamstrung by one impeachment after another by a Democrat majority Congress.

    The Pro/Free Palestine Wave that the Democrats are riding for all they are worth is actually an ANTI-DRAFT MOVEMENT composed of 18-29 DRAFT AGE Americans on both Left and Right who can read the handwriting on the wall and don’t like what they are seeing.

    • His VP Delcy Rodriguez served him up on a silver platter to Trump. She shored up lots of support from the army beforehand, which is why there was zero resistance. Maduro’s personal security of Cubans were all bribed but ended up getting liquidated by Rodriguez’s people or someone working for her. It was a better than average show, but very much a show.

    • Since some 8 million Venezuelans have fled since Hugo Chavez tried to imitate Castro’s brand of Marxism there – mostly to other places in Latin America – it will be interesting to see if they start making their way back home. These ones sent up here by Maduro in the “Biden” regime were criminals. Maduro was imitating Castro here too, who emptied his prisons for the Mariel boat invasion of Florida during the Carter administration.

      Again, Trump could have taken a page from the LBJ-Clinton playbook of COVERT military support for Israel while building that BIG BEAUTIFUL WALL rather than simply hiring a bunch of INS personnel who will only end up twiddling their thumbs and processing the immivasion when the Democrats take over.

      Mark Levin keeps yammering about how we can walk and chew gum at the same time, so WHY CAN’T WE?     • The debts the Paul Singers of the world and the rest of The Usual Suspects collect through their well refined tactics of Usury are Odious Debts and therefore, should be repudiated. The debts were contracted by despotic regimes for the benefit of the oligarchs in charge who absconded with the money. The lenders to such regimes in Africa and S. America knew the loans were made in bad faith i.e. they were for the benefit of the scumbags in charge, not the country itself and that the loans would quickly go into default racking up fees and late charges.

      The usurers also knew they could rely on corrupt courts primarily in the U.S. and UK to collect on these Odious Debts by strangling the economic life out of these countries thereby punishing with further poverty the already poor citizens of these Third World shitholes. If there were an ounce of justice in the courts of the U.S. and the UK the debts would be declared Odious Debts and therefore, uncollectable. This is the same principle behind debts being declared null and void when contracted under fraud or for an illegal purpose such as drugs or illegal gambling.     Israel looks like it’s preparing for another war against Iran (at least). They have already instructed DJT what his role will be in this future war: the U.S. will do the majority of the fighting after Our Greatest Ally starts the war. None of the Profiles in Courage in Congress (with few exceptions e.g. Massie (R) Kentucky) will raise any objection. Miss Lindsay will set the tone. Perhaps he will wear his cheerleader outfit in public as he celebrates another war.

    • Unz recently penned an article comparing Trump to Caligula. Though Trump is fairly insane, I don’t think he’s gone full-bore Caligula-level crazy … yet. I must say that replacing the entire Senate with horses and maybe dog plus some pigs and chickens would be an awesome move though. It would at least double the overall intelligence level of the chamber and provide better entertainment. Lady G should appear in her evening gown – kind of like the character in the all-white NYC appartment in the original movie The Producers.

      • Clytemnestra, you are correct and as you have noted, Trump will deserve every bit of abuse he gets for starting wars especially on behalf of Our Greatest Ally.

        The Achilles’ heel of U.S. military strategy is the lack of troops and industrial capacity to sustain long term conflict, especially if it occurs in multiple theaters simultaneously. the military simply doesn’t have the manpower and there isn’t the industrial base either to replace losses of equipment. Remedying the lack of industrial capacity would take years and cost a fortune.

        Remedying the lack of qualified manpower would require conscription. Even using ‘stop loss’ orders to prevent men from leaving the military and calling up reserves wouldn’t provide sufficient manpower if there were significant conflicts. The U.S. Government would have to bring back conscription to provide sufficient numbers of troops. This burden would naturally fall most heavily on White males i.e. real Americans especially if there were a war with China over Taiwan.

        One is hard pressed to think of any other misguided policy from the U.S. Government that would incite such widespread, violent opposition to a Government policy. Conscription would unite the Right and Left against the Government resulting in eventual failure of conscription the way President Nixon ended conscription in Jan. 1973 after the Paris Peace Treaty was signed ending U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War. All the efforts of the Lügenpresse to sell war and conscription would be for naught as the public simply refused to cooperate with conscription. This doesn’t mean the Government wouldn’t pursue its destructive policies, if just means they would fail because of deep and broad opposition.

  12. The first link to ABC was classic old school interviewing. I don’t agree with his agenda, but he asked very good questions and put Rubio on the spot.

    It’s seems clear at this early hour, from that interview at least, that the Administration has an excellent operational plan. Sadly, tand ypically in post Vietnam era governance, it doesn’t have an effective articulated policy backing the operational plan. This was the main problem with Iraq. Great operational plan, superbly executed, but not a clear or at least viable policy goal.

    To put this in perspective, in the last days of WWII, the Allies had a policy backing their operational plan to end the Nazi regime. When Hitler was dead and had transfered power, they dealt with the successor authorities and demanded letters recognizing the defeat of the Nazi regime, ordering the Nazi resistance to end, and begin conditions for transferring power and authority to an already Allied agreed upon occupational authority. We don’t need to operationally occupy Venezuala. But it is clearly an operational goal to end the regime. But what next?

    Rubio says this was a law enforcement operation, with a law enforcement and military operational goal of ending various badness from Venezuala. In reality it’s aimed as a regime change. They can’t have it both ways.

    The Trump Administration needs to be clear about explaining that and demanding the successor authorities to submit to American power and negotiate with us a transition government which should include the legitimately recognized government in exile. It seems to me they don’t have a good communication strategy explaining this which means they haven’t really thought this through. Execution fantastic. End goal unclear and no food answers to rough questions. “What legal authority to run Venezuala?” Damn legal authority! Damn your neo liberal rules based order! Our removal of the Maduro regime by force is our authority! That should be the reply, but it wasnt. That’s not good.

      • As I’ve stated many times before, all of the actions of this administration thus far with respect to the great replacement amount to temporary patches. Yes, border crossings have plummeted. Yes the DHS is arresting invaders, mainly small-fry. This can all be undone in far less time under a President Newsome reversing Trump’s EOs since he would have full support of the blackrobed kritarchy in doing so. What nobody in the Gay Old Pedoburo is even discussing is going after those who hire the invaders. That means going after some folks with deep pockets – including Miriam Adelson (a major employer of invaders via her casino empire). One does not need a DHS Soviet-style ‘Army of the Interior Ministry’ to haul off maybe 100,000 or so employers of invaders and arrest their assets using the extant RICO laws.

    – That’s far greater than its share of global population or GDP — indicating relatively high consumption normalized to wealth and purchasing power…

    Using global “Rambo” logic:

    So, instead of trying to kill all the countries who are suppliers of drugs why not wipe out out the countries that are high consumers of illegal drugs like the USA, the very top of the illegal drug consumption list?

    Why don’t all the top nations join together to empty their nuke arsenals into America and just wipe the USA off the face of the earth and be done with this hypocritical king pin of the drug racket and maybe the other countries that are high consumers will then go after drug usage in their countries before they meet the same fate?

    The “Rambo” sword could be a two-edged sword…
