He could say that he is expanding legal immigration and granting amnesty to all illegal aliens and MAGA would praise him and claim it was always their position. It is people with preexisting beliefs who bought into the lie that it was ever something else.
You’ve seriously underestimated the intellectual and political beliefs of MAGA. If Trump did what you claim there would be absolute revolt of the movement and they would demand his head going so far as to support impeaching and removing him from office. Most of his administrations best staffers would immediately quite and it would rupture the GOP as thoroughly as the Conservative Party in the UK.
