Pew Research: Migrant Encounters At The U.S. Mexico Border Are At Their Lowest Level In More Than 50 Years

In the comment section, I said that I would post good news if I came across it. The U.S.-Mexico border remains the biggest success story of Donald Trump’s second term.

Pew Research:

“U.S. Border Patrol encounters with migrants crossing into the United States from Mexico have fallen to their lowest level in more than 50 years, according to a Pew Research Center analysis of statistics from the federal government.

The Border Patrol recorded 237,538 encounters with migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border in the 2025 fiscal year, which began in October 2024 and ended in September 2025. That was down from more than 1.5 million encounters in fiscal 2024, more than 2 million in fiscal 2023 and a record of more than 2.2 million in fiscal 2022. The 2025 total was the lowest in any fiscal year since 1970, according to historical data from the Border Patrol. …”

Just to be crystal clear, I am not in the “whitepiller” or “blackpiller” camps on Donald Trump’s immigration policy. Federale is the best representative of the “whitepiller” position.

Federale:

“There is a desperate campaign being waged by the losers from the long defunct National Justice Party (NJP) their former hangers-on, and other professional blackpillers. Their refrain is that nothing is being done, everything if fake and gay, basically they are repeating the Mike Peinovich lies as they are apparently less intelligent that the jew Peinovich. The current specific claim that Trump is doing nothing on So our professional blackpillers are left looking like fools, creating some wild 5-dimensional chess that the jews are playing, while aligning themselves with domestic Muslims, mostly Sunni who don’t care about Iran, the very Sunnis they claim are creatures of Israel, and separating themselves from the American people who don’t like Muslims. The late adherents of the NJP are determined to align themselves with the people that Americans generally detest, Muslims of any stripe. The NJPers think that if they create an alliance with Palestinians and Iranians they will somehow win elections in America. However, they cannot explain how Iran will rescue them when Iran declined to rescue Hamas or Hezbollah, their allies, and waited to attack Israel after both had gone down to defeat in detail by Israel. It is best not to ally with someone who will let you be destroyed by the jews. …”

José Alberto Niño is the best representative of the “blackpiller” position.

José Niño:

“The Trump administration has deployed thousands of Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers to Minnesota in what amounts to little more than political theater. Two Americans are already dead from this operation, yet the state hosts a fraction of the illegal immigrant population found in Republican strongholds like Texas, Florida, and Georgia.

The numbers tell a damning story. Minnesota is home to roughly 130,000 illegal immigrants, representing about 2.2% of the state’s population according to Pew Research. That figure accounts for less than 1% of the national illegal population of 14 million that Pew highlighted. A controversial 2018 Yale study by researchers affiliated with Princeton claimed the national figure could be as high as 22 million. Even accepting the highest mainstream estimates, Minnesota’s 130,000 represents a drop in the bucket. …”

My position is between these two extremes.

Trump deserves credit for getting the border under control and gutting the refugee resettlement program. At the same time, “mass deportations” haven’t happened, construction of the border wall has been too slow and the theatrical standoffs with caped libtards in sanctuary cities is burning up too much political capital. Legal immigration including H-1B visas has been cut, but Trump is selling U.S. citizenship with his Gold Card program and Congress has doubled H-2B visas for Big Ag. Congress and the Trump administration have also refused to crackdown on employers of illegal aliens. No permanent changes have been made to our immigration system which can’t be reversed by the next Democratic president.
