In Philadelphia, the face of this new era is the George Soros-backed district attorney Larry Krasner who is the “progressive prosecutor” whose policies has led Philadelphia to the highest murder rate in the country. Krasner defeated his Democratic primary opponent in May.
In San Francisco, the face of this new era is district attorney Chesa Boudin, a “progressive prosecutor” whose parents were in the Weather Underground and went to prison for armed robbery who has presided over the decriminalization of organized looting in San Francisco which has the highest rate of property crime in the country. Boudin is more interested in prosecuting cops than in holding criminals in jail. He was the first “progressive prosecutor” in the country to end the practice of cash bail which he touts on his website as the “most progressive bail policy in the nation” and a model for other cities.
San Francisco and Philadelphia are both struggling with a sharp rise in police retirements and a decline in police recruits. It is the same same story in nearly every big city in the country. The police force is way down. Crime is way up. “Progressive prosecutors” have stopped enforcing civility laws and drug laws. Tent cities of homeless people or Bidenvilles are sprouting up even in places like Venice Beach and Hollywood. Criminals are experiencing a renaissance unseen since the 1990s.

Boudin typically begins with his parents, who joined the militant organization known as the Weather Underground in the 1960s to fight against American apartheid and the war in Vietnam. In 1981, when Boudin was 14 months old, they left him with a babysitter to serve as unarmed getaway drivers while members of another revolutionary group robbed a Brink’s armored car in Nanuet, New York. Remembered as one of the watershed excesses of countercultural radicalism, the heist left two police officers and a guard dead. Neither of Boudin’s parents fired a shot. His mother pleaded guilty, his father did not, but both were convicted of murder and sent to prison. Boudin was adopted by two other members of the Weather Underground, the education reformer Bill Ayers and the clinical-law professor Bernardine Dohrn. He spent his childhood in a world of radical-left ideological purity, shuttled between the comfortable life of his adoptive family and the prisons where he visited his biological parents. …

Unprompted, Boudin asked if I’d heard about a recent assault — a 94-year-old woman stabbed multiple times. Police were apparently saying they had arrested the guy weeks earlier but that Boudin’s office failed to jail him at the time.
“The funny thing is,” Boudin said, “we asked a judge to hold him, and the judge turned us down.” Just then, another surfer appeared alongside Boudin and said he’d seen one of the anti-recall mailers. He complimented Boudin on the quality of the brochure and said, “Good luck with all that!”

At some point, you have to ask yourself who would elect someone like Chesa Boudin in San Francisco or Larry Krasner in Philadelphia or Kim Gardner in St. Louis or Mike Schmidt in Portland or Pete Holmes in Seattle? It is the DILEs or Bobos who live in these big cities and the concentrated filth and lawlessness that you see there reflects their bohemian values. The same people who refuse to enforce basic civility laws in the Bay Area where they live have no problem censoring the internet.
How should I put this? These people are extremely libertarian and permissive when it comes to things that ACTUALLY matter to maintaining a civilization like family structure, sexual morality or violent crime. They are extremely authoritarian, however, when it comes to things that DON’T matter like thought policing, conformity on their various -isms and -phobias, censoring and punishing people for harmless words and attitudes or turning the world upside down over a virus which has an over 99% survival rate.
Their project can be summed up as turning the world upside down in the name of “social justice.” The demonization of the police and the glorification of criminals is just one example of this.
I don’t see what’s not to like? Philadelphia and San Francisco were still a nice places even in the late 90’s. The rapid decline into zombie apocoplyse has to be waking normies up. I bet we start seeing cannibalism soon. Atlanta too.
Rampant violence is NOT caused by “not enough guns” (inadequate police and prison industry) but by the nature of the system itself. Hiring even more guns (police and prison industry) and letting them be as violent as necessary to stop the violence is NOT the correct solution for systemic violence caused by systemic (capitalist) inequality.
Community-based, locally-elected police are needed, but peace officers can only exist in a truly communal economic system, which is very difficult or impossible to establish in such a thoroughly ethnically-mixed NON-nation as the U.S.
