#22. Great Moments In BRA History: Obama and Tuscaloosa Tornado

Alabama

The tornado that hit Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, Cullman, Phil Campbell and other cities and towns in North Alabama was absolutely devastating.

I clearly remember that day. If I am not mistaken, Barack Obama was doing a fundraiser in New York City and The Oprah Winfrey Show in Chicago. Everyone here was panicking.

Then he flew over our state to “observe” the damage. He preached to us for a few days. Then he went back to Washington.

How strange.

Note: If memory serves, the League of the South wanted to help out back then.
