For years, there has been considerable speculation on the internet as to whether “the collapse” would come, and whether it would work to our advantage.
Greece is ground zero of the European financial crisis. The latest polls show that Golden Dawn’s popularity has surged to 22 percent. Meanwhile, the mainstream political parties have lost their legitimacy:

Whilst politicians are held in low regard and more than half of Greek citizens are so disillusioned with the political process that 54 percent no longer trust any political party, there are a few notable changes in the political landscape.
A report in Skai.gr shows that the popularity of the the ultra-nationalist Golden Dawn has risen 10 points since May, winning the party a popularity score of 22 percent. Moreover, their share of the vote as evidenced in polls for September, now stands at 13 percent.”
This is an optimistic sign.
Wouldn’t it be great if Americans gave up on Democrats vs. Republicans? It happened in the 1860s when Southerners got sick and tired of playing Whigs vs. Democrats.
I wouldn’t take it for more than mere posturing, but I find it interesting that Rush Limbaugh and Laura Ingram both made a big deal a few week ago about this election being the Republican party’s “last chance” to get it right.
I’m not saying the are people remotely capable of leading anyone out of the darkness, but as purveyors of opinion they make it their specialty to stay ahead of the breeze. Perhaps they sense it can’t keep going on like this, and they want a piece of whatever comes next.

Golden Dawn are very interesting. I don’t think they could win anywhere in good times, because they are so old school extreme and I don’t believe most people like or want fascism, but then again Greeks are different to the people in my country and things are very bad over there.

I’m surprised they have come so far, but not shocked given the severity of the economic crisis in Greece. This might be a preview of our own future.

It doesn’t matter if they can define it accurately, what matters in practical politics is what they think and that is what you have to work with, in the real world.

True, but that doesn’t mean we have to play the “omg fascism is so horrible” game here amongst ourselves. Also, it appears that over 1 in 5 Greeks are believing what they see from the Golden Dawn over what they hear in the media. When you’re starving, the political class calling the people feeding you “fascists” loses its bite apparently.
You don’t have to be fascist or national socialist to be pro white, there are other options and many in the pro white movement support them. The problem fascists and communists have, is only one man gets a vote and most people that vote, won’t vote for that.
As for 20%, I have seen this all before, with the UK’s BNP and Australia’s One Nation and they both screwed it up for themselves and everyone else that came after them, due to their political naivety and sheer incompetence.
As I have not yet seen any signs of political sophistication from Golden Dawn (they have already declared that if elected, they will attack Turkey lol), I am not getting excited about them either.
The one thing they have in their favor, is they are using different methods to the BNP and One Nation and that is something. If something failed in the past, you need to try something else.

Greeks are more clannish and probably naturally so, so they are less easily turned against themselves and more easily able to discern policies favorable and harmful to their national interests despite the torrent of media lies. And they’ll need that ability in spades because, as you rightly point out, Golden Dawn is pretty severely kook-infested. There’s no way the 22% who now say they support them are as similarly kooky or inclined towards the kind of “race-worship” (as I call it) that fascistic movements like GD are driven by. Hopefully the desire for the policies of national liberation/survival that they perceive GD as standing for will endure even if GD itself drifts back into obscurity.

Here’s an insight I had. When a group of people rise in rebellion deep in their souls, they become a quasi-State, a sort of Government in Exile in themselves. What is a government, after all, but a group of people who are motivated and empowered to move society in a certain direction? The motives of our current government are base financial motives. The motives of the White nationalist Shadow Government in Exile are a cry from the heart, a cri de couer.
It is precisely the cri de couer nature of White nationalists that make us so potentially powerful. Cri de couer is a French term; we don’t have a similar idiom in English because we Anglo-Americans are supposed to keep a stiff upper lip. White nationalists are clearly the cri de couer people. We have the courage to cry out in pain without worrying if we will be seen as whiners or womanish. Earlier version of White nationalism (WN 1.0) were violent because they saw no other tools of resistance, and because they didn’t want to be seen as ineffective whiners. I like the story of the Boudica rebellion. What we can learn from Boudica is that courage and inspiration are essential but not sufficient in waging war. One must use our big brains to develop better war technology and better generalship. Our ancestors depended on courage and cunning, but it didn’t occur to (most of) them to develop better technology, Jan Zizka being a shining exception. Boudica ( /?bu?d?k?/; alternative spelling: Boudicca), also known as Boadicea /bo?d??si??/ and known in Welsh as Buddug [?b??ð???][1] (d. AD 60 or 61) was queen of the British Iceni tribe who led an uprising against the occupying forces of the Roman Empire.
Boudica’s husband Prasutagus, ruler of the Iceni tribe, who had ruled as a nominally independent ally of Rome, left his kingdom jointly to his daughters and the Roman Emperor in his will. However, when he died, his will was ignored —the kingdom was annexed as if conquered, Boudica was flogged, her daughters were raped, and Roman financiers called in their loans.
In AD 60 or 61, while the Roman governor, Gaius Suetonius Paulinus, was leading a campaign on the island of Anglesey off the northwest coast of Wales—Boudica led the Iceni people in revolt, along with the Trinovantes and others,. They destroyed Camulodunum (modern Colchester), earlier the capital of the Trinovantes, but then a colonia (a settlement for discharged Roman soldiers) and the site of a temple to the former Emperor Claudius, which was built and maintained at local expense. They also routed a Roman legion, the IX Hispana, sent to relieve the settlement.
On hearing the news of the revolt, Suetonius hurried to Londinium (London), the twenty-year-old commercial settlement that was the rebels’ next target. Concluding that he did not have the numbers to defend the settlement, Suetonius evacuated and abandoned it—Londinium was burnt to the ground, as was Verulamium (St Albans). An estimated 70,000–80,000 people were killed in the three cities (though the figures are suspect).[2] Suetonius, meanwhile, regrouped his forces in the West Midlands and, despite being heavily outnumbered, defeated the Britons in the Battle of Watling Street. The crisis caused the Emperor Nero to consider withdrawing all Roman forces from Britain, but Suetonius’ eventual victory over Boudica re-secured Roman control of the province. Boudica then either killed herself, so she would not be captured, or fell ill and died—the extant sources, Tacitus[3] and Cassius Dio,[4] differ.
I also like the story of Jan Zizka, who invented an early form of tank warfare, in the 15th century!
Lastly, Bogdan Khmelnitski:
The Khmelnytsky Uprising,[1] was a Cossack rebellion in Rus/Ruthenian lands located in present-day Ukraine from 1648–1657, which turned into a Cossack war of liberation from Poland. Under the command of Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky, the Zaporozhian Cossacks allied with the Crimean Tatars and local peasantry and fought several battles against the armies and paramilitary forces of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The result was an eradication of the control of the Polish szlachta and their Jewish intermediaries, and the end of ecclesiastical jurisdiction for the Latin Rite Catholics (as well as Karaites, and other arendators) over the country. The uprising has taken on a symbolic meaning in the story of Ruthenian relationship with Russia. It resulted in the incorporation of Ukraine (lands located eastward from the river Dnieper) into the Tsardom of Russia at the Pereiaslav Agreement, where the Cossacks swore an oath of allegiance to the tsar. This, according to poet and artist Taras Shevchenko, brought about his people’s “enslavement” under Russia.[2]
On January 25, 1648, Khmelnytsky brought a contingent of 300-500 Cossacks to the Zaporizhian Sich and quickly killed the guards assigned by the Commonwealth to protect the entrance. Once at the Sich, his oratory and diplomatic skills struck a nerve with oppressed Ruthenians. As his men repelled an attempt by Commonwealth forces to retake the Sich, more recruits joined his cause. The Cossack Rada elected him Hetman by the end of the month. Khmelnytsky threw most of his resources into recruiting more fighters. He sent emissaries to Crimea, enjoining the Tatars to join him in a potential assault against their mutual enemy, the Commonwealth.Part of a series on

By April 1648 word of an uprising had spread throughout the Commonwealth. Either because they underestimated the size of the uprising,[4] or because they wanted to act quickly to prevent it from spreading,[5] the Commonwealth’s Grand Crown Hetman Miko?aj Potocki and Field Crown Hetman Marcin Kalinowski sent 3,000 soldiers under the command of Potocki’s son, Stefan, towards Khmelnytsky without waiting to gather additional forces from Prince Jeremi Wi?niowiecki. Khmelnytsky marshalled his forces and met his enemy at the Battle of Zhovti Vody, which saw a considerable amount of defections on the field of battle by registered Cossacks who changed their allegiance from the Commonwealth to Khmelnytsky. This victory was quickly followed by rout of the Commonwealth’s armies at the Battle of Korsun, which saw both the elder Potocki and Kalinowski captured and imprisoned by the Tatars.
In addition to the loss of significant forces and military leadership, the Polish state also lost King W?adys?aw IV Vasa, who died in 1648, leaving the Crown of Poland leaderless and in disarray at a time of rebellion. The Szlachta was on the run from its peasants, their palaces and estates in flames. All the while, Khmelnystky’s army marched westward.
Khmelnytsky stopped his forces at Bila Tserkva and issued a list of demands to the Polish Crown, including raising the number of Registered Cossacks, returning churches taken from the Orthodox faithful and paying the Cossacks for wages which had been withheld for 5 years.[6]
At this point news of the peasant uprisings troubled a noble-born such as Khmelnytsky; however, after discussing information gathered across the country with his advisors, the Cossack leadership soon realized the potential for autonomy was there for the taking. Although Khmelnytsky’s personal resentment of the Szlachta and the Magnates influenced his transformation into a revolutionary, it was his ambition to become the ruler of a Ruthenian nation that expanded the uprising from a simple rebellion into a national movement. Khmelnytsky had his forces join a peasant revolt at the Battle of Pyliavtsi, striking another terrible blow to weakened and depleted Polish forces.

Khmelnytsky was persuaded not to lay siege to Lviv in exchange for 200,000 red guldens, according to some sources, while Hrushevsky stated that Khmelnytsky did indeed lay siege to the town, for about two weeks. After obtaining the ransom he moved to besiege Zamo?? when he finally heard about the election of the new Polish King, John Casimir II, whom Khmelnytsky favored. According to Hrushevski John Casimir II sent him a letter in which he informed the Cossack leader about his election and assured him tht he would grant Cossacks and all of the Orthodox faith various privileges. He requested that Khmelnytsky stop his campaign and await the royal delegation. Khmelnytsky answered that he would comply with his monarch’s request and turned back. He made a triumphant entry into Kiev on Christmas Day of 1648, where he was hailed as “the Moses, savior, redeemer, and liberator of the people from Polish captivity … the illustrious ruler of Rus”. In February 1649, during negotiations with a Polish delegation headed by Sen. Adam Kysil in Pereiaslav, Khmelnytsky declared that he was “the sole autocrat of Rus” and that he had “enough power in Ukraine, Podolia, and Volhynia… in his land and principality stretching as far as Lviv, Che?m, and Halych”.[7] It became clear to the Polish envoys that Khmelnytsky had positioned himself no longer as simply a leader of the Zaporozhian Cossacks but as that of an independent state and stated his claims to the heritage of the Rus’. A Vilnius panegyric in Khmelnytsky’s honor (1650–1651) explained it this way: “While in Poland, it is King Jan II Casimir Vasa, in Rus it is Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky”.[8]
Within a few months almost all Polish nobles, officials and priests had been wiped out or driven from the lands of present-day Ukraine. The Commonwealth population losses in the uprising were over one million. In addition, Jews had substantial losses because they were the most numerous and accessible representatives of the szlachta regime.
A number of things. I don’t give a flying #$%^ about whether or not something’s

The point of a socialism, is that is it tied to the ETHNIC awareness that you can ONLY care for your own- you cannot care for those, to whom you have no affinity. Duh. Solitariness is good, but so, too, is communal identity. Think of that 1955 movie, “Picnic,” that made a star out of Kim Novak. I REMEMBER that sort of childhood- do you?
Yet, which sect has seen the most growth in the last few years, of groups in the USA? THE AMISH. Talk about ‘return to the past’!!! This is organic hippie-dom, on steroids! And restoring a sense of ‘isolation/community/knowing your neighbors.’ WOW.
One MAJOR thing we lack which the Greeks have, was alluded to above- the Greeks have intimate knowledge of dhimmitude- they lived under the Muslim yoke for some hundreds of years.
They also have the reality that we now lack- primarily because of editing out our White Man’s history- they KNOW WHO THEY ARE. They only fought the battle of Thermopylae, “last week,” in their minds. I’ve read posters on this very forum, not ‘get’ this- this is not aberrational, this is NORMAL. You have to have a sense/form of “TRADITION” or your community will literally atomize in two generations. That there are those on OD who find it either a)annoying, or b) appalling, is testament to how well the Judaizers have caused us to forget ‘the rock from which ye are hewn.’
The Greeks ‘remember’ the way the West has ALWAYS treated them as ‘third cousins’ as if it were last week- hell, yesterday! For they KEEP THEIR HISTORY ALIVE- from Humbert’s actions at Hagia Sophia (and yes, the Greeks want Constantinople back- and they have a right to!) that split the West from the rest of Christendom (why I harp about that ‘silly theological dictum’ is because it DOES matter), the raping, pillaging, and outright murder of Greeks by the Romans/West during multiple Crusades; the denial of history that Columbus was probably a Greek Prince from the isle of Chios, rather than a woolmerchant’s son from some Italian/Papal backwater; the leaving of Greece to that fall of Constantinople in 1453- an utterly INEXCUSABLE act by the West; etc., etc., etc.
The Greeks have a living memory. We merely have soundbytes, forgotten ten seconds after they are uttered. AND WE ARE MEANT TO THINK THAT WAY. Does anyone here remember Boesky? Pollard? The USS Liberty? Little Rock? Wallace’s standing on the steps of the High School? But, God forbid we should forget St. Rosa Parks, MLK, or Harvey Milk! They (Greeks) have history all around them. We demolish any building over 100 years old, and put up increasingly uglier cold monstrosities, because ‘the land is too valuable,’ no one ‘wants’ older buildings, and we must always buy, buy, buy the ever-distant subdivisions, ‘ticky-tacky’ homes, and McMansions THEY ‘tell us’ to own- while we never build up generational equity in ONE place, but only owe banks (read, jews) over and over and over, and over again.
They (Greeks- even some Western Europeans) have neighborhoods, where people have walked to their local butcher, baker, candlestick maker for generations, with fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, and dairy grown on the land, raised by their own countrymen, and full of nutrition, if they still CAN do so- while we have strip malls, enforced Stalinist commercial uniformity of the 12 ‘approved’ Chain stores, GMO crops, produce from Mexico, Argentina, and New Zealand, and never-ending ‘Twinkie’ crap, and HFCS aisles of plastic puke, all contributing to our increasingly obese ‘Wheat Bellies.’
If the Greeks succeed, it WILL be a signal for the rest of Christendom. Trouble is, in our Obamanation, we confuse Romney with a valid political ‘savior,’ and bemoan not being thought ‘nice,’ when we fear to augur for White Self-interest, Jewish disenfranchisement, and reduction of Niggers to the sub-human filth they are.
We have, in essence, forgotten who we ARE. White Men. Europeans. Civilization makers.
And therein lies our great failure at the present moment. More’s the pity.

They have done everything wrong in this election and are sitting around crying in their beer baffled that they are not sailing past Obama. The entire conservative talk show host mentality is claiming that there is nothing wrong with Wall street and claiming that the rich getting richer is what America is all about and is good.
They got away with this horseshit in the 80’s and 90’s when America was booming but it is over and if they think that is a winning strategy then they have no business thinking that they speak for us and should be shown the door. Golden Dawn is winning because they are targeting the poor and rural, not yuppie and urban.
Golden Dawn is not run by cowards who let the enemy define the frame.
Golden Dawn has a chance because they’re, at least so far, they have been fearless in standing up to Jewish smears. One (not only) very important step in practical politics for all strains and factions of White dissidents is identifying and opposing the Jew.
Check out this example. A Greek journalist tries to smear Golden Dawn by linking them to the Holo-HOAX. The Golden Dawn leader throws it back in his face without apology or hesitation and flatly states it did not happen.

There is no reason our side cannot come to power, when times are good, other than our own leadership’s political incompetence.
I ask myself, if our leadership is so good, how come we must we always be on the brink of complete disaster, for them to get close to real power? Our enemies have never had such problems.
Perhaps incompetence is the wrong word, but incompetence in gauging just how much corruption and grief the Greek people will put up with. I’m not saying that Golden Dawn has the right policy wonks to sort out all of Greece’s problems, but they presumably won’t work to screw the Greek people over.

I like Golden Dawn. I hope they continue to grow. They need to be a little smarter about things. First, JamieG posted above GD has said they want to go to war with Turkey. That is unwise. I don’t know what the issues are surrounding that, but imagine it has something to do with territory. They should let whatever that is go. For now. Greece needs an economic recovery, not a costly war.
Second, GD leadership has some ties to the past military junta. I guess there is nothing they can do about that, but I think that harms their chances.
Third, they need to calm down a little. Their leadership needs to stop fighting with people, whether provoked or not, such as the water throwing incident. Discussions about the whether or not the Holocaust happened, and things of that nature, need to be avoided. If some libtard reporter asked me about that, I would simply reply it has nothing to do with the issues I am campaigning on.

Our policies are 100% correct, but we do not understand people, or what makes them tick. Left wing policies are complete failures, but they always seem to win and take over everything.

@Stonelifter – This, combined with the security and food they provide to Greeks in need, probably accounts for a very large percentage of their support from non-hardline nationalists. There’s something very appealing about politicians who say what they mean and mean what they say and are willing to suffer for it, even when you don’t always agree with them. Ron Paul’s fundamental honesty was what made him so attractive to a lot of people.

Golden Dawn is winning in the streets. The electoral part is the confirmation, not the proof. The left won by intimidating people, by shooting people, and by twisting the law. While at the same time buying up the media and buying off the pols.
Golden Dawn are ass kickers. They truly do care about and support their people – and they prove this all over Greece, in the streets and countryside – DAILY. This is what winning politics actually looks like. Golden Dawn succeeds because it does he opposite of what losers like A3P, JaimeG (kenny g’s gayer cousin?), Jared Taylor, Kevin Macdonald and the rest of the hapless functional conservatives advise.
The people will only follow those with the courage to lead under their real names. They will only follow those willing to put their physical lives on the line. But you cuties go write the Next Great Essay. That will turn the tide!
Golden Dawn is the only serious nationalist party in the white world. It is succeeding by using the same techniques the NS discovered and developed, and when the time is ripe, they will work here in the US too. But notice that Golden Dawn has been around since 1980. Even if we don’t face the disastrous conditions that are the other reason the party is taking off, it sure would be nice if we had a WN or even a SN party actually worth joining. But we don’t.
