Live Thread: 2012 Vice Presidential Debate

Kentucky

I think Paul Ryan was the clear winner: he was calm, collected, courteous, well prepared, and came across as far more presidential than Joe Biden who was doing his best imitation of Chris Matthews.

Note: The CNN post-debate poll has Ryan winning the debate, 48 percent to 44 percent. Obama and Biden are reminding independent voters in the debates of why we are tired of listening to them.

  1. John – yes. Biden was Biden. But LISTEN to Mosin.

The Lever Pullers couldn’t care less about Biden’s jack-assery. He’s a Democrat. It’s the equivalent of “He Black” for Black voters.

  2. I’ll decide when I’ll stop, Landshark. But I agree, it’s time now. The digression was not too irrelevant really, beginning from the point where the two Catholics explained the relationship of their religion to their politics. Incidentally, I am neither Catholic nor Protestant, and not somewhere in between — and there is one Church.

  3. “I’m not sure it was a draw. Biden overdid it. Interruption, eye rolling, jackassery.”

It was so effective when Romney did it, all that smiling, that Biden was bound to try it too, but it didn’t come off as well.

  4. We are very proud of our fellow globalist race traitor Joe Biden. He, like Chris Matthews, embodies the true soul of everything good in the white race; strong Catholic working-class manhood, with a human heart of steel. Biden did utterly destroy the randroid freak Paul Ryan, and will lead our Obama team onto victory and, despite Obama’s unfortunate quarrel with the Catholic Church over birth control and abortion, will lead us into the pope’s beautiful one-world government; amen

  5. Biden looked like a flapping bird too. Hand gestures are not normally a problem but combined with “Gurning” the person looks really thick. He overdid things that Romney
Used but was still in command of.

The Libya business and Iraq war resolution are
    Really going to be trouble.

  6. Malarkey is not an Irish world. Blarney relates to Irish habits of exaggeration and taking credit for sh*t you don’t do. Lord Blarney was an Irish peer who bullshitted Queen Elizabeth. She gave up trying following his excuses one day saying “it’s all Blarney!”

    Malarkey is not Irish anything.

  7. Ronald Reagan was a Protestant and signed the illegal alien amnesty. George W. Bush is a Protestant and allowed the invasion of illegals under his watch and tried to get them amnesty. Bill Clinton also a Protestant and did nothing to stop the invasion under his watch.

Saying that “the Catholics” have flooded this country with non-whites is about the most moronic thing I can imagine. There has been exactly one Catholic President and he was assassinated before the Immigration Act of 1965, and when illegal immigration wasn’t much of a problem.

WASPs aren’t innocent victims in the USA, the WASP elites wanted cheap Catholic labor from Ireland, Italy, Poland and now Latin America. They flooded their own country.

Having Protestant vs Catholic arguments amongst whites in America is so sad. The white percentage of the population continues to plummet and you fools are worried about what religion this squalid third world country will be in the future.

  8. 1. I am Catholic first. White and everything else comes after.

    2. If we Catholics did commit genocide against Protestants, we obviously didn’t do the job well enough. This forum alone is crawling with them.

    3. Protestant/Enlightenment “culture” is what created the mess we’re in.

    4. I don’t care if anyone here hates Catholics. The fact that we’re hated means we’re doing our job. Besides, there’s hatred and there’s hatred. On one hand, there’s the true bigoted hatred — the kind on display in this thread — and on the other there’s the more-in-sorrow-than-in-anger hatred that can serve a constructive purpose. Look at Fr. John +. He hates us, and yet he’s still and stand-up guy with plenty of good points to make. Fyodor Dostoevsky was likewise no fan of the Church, but that didn’t stop him from writing novels full of capital-T truth.

    5. Most American Catholics are of the Joe Biden type: cultural Catholics. Like most American Jews, these folks identify as members of a religion while failing to practice what it teaches. These Easter-Wedding-Funeral-Christmas Catholics feel entitled to the cultural and spiritual benefits of the Church, yet feel no shame in ignoring any teaching of the Church that gets in the way of their next orgasm or abortion.

Anyone can call himself a Catholic, but only a person who believes 100% of what the Church teaches and is willing to suffer for them really is Catholic.

    6. Those of you who think the Church is socialist, etc. are talking through your hats. You know nothing about the Church, which has always and continues to condemn Marxian communism and socialism (along with other forms of materialist ideology) as intrinsically anti-Christian and evil. Anyone with even the most passing familiarity with what the Church teaches about economic and social relations (e.g., Rerum Novarum, Pope Leo XIII , May 15, 1891) would know as much.

[T]he socialists, working on the poor man’s envy of the rich, are striving to do away with private property, and contend that individual possessions should… be administered by the State… [b]y… transferring property from private individuals to the community… But their contentions are… clearly powerless to end the controversy… They are, moreover, emphatically unjust, for they would rob the lawful possessor, distort the functions of the State, and create utter confusion in the community”. 7. Don’t listen to the Catholic-haters, folks. They are unwitting tools of the international Luciferian revolution that seeks to destroy all order and hierarchy and impose their own Ordo a chaos upon the universe. Their opinions about what the Church teaches and does and what the Church actually teaches and does are precisely worthless,

And don’t take my word for it, either. If you want to know what the Church really teaches, just read The Catechism of the Catholic Church. You can read it online for free.

    8. I’m not worried about the Protestants any more than I worry about the Jews. Protestantism, like Judiasm, is dying all over the world, and is no longer a significant player in world affairs. The Evangelicals are rapidly replacing the Protestants as the premier non-Catholic Christian movement in the world today.

    9. Sadly, as a movement based upon ideology and emotion rather than on the Rock set in place by our Lord, the Evangelicals will not survive the coming global war on Christianity. When the materialistic, Freemasonic illuminist world order joins its super-science with the fanatical jihad of Mohammedanism to crush the Church, all the camp meeting hysterics, snake-handling, and megachurch worshiptainment in the world won’t help. Only the Real Presence will stand. In the end, only those Christian bodies with valid Sacraments and valid apostolic succession will be able to survive. That’s us and the Orthodox.

    10. Didn’t watch the debate, nor do I care who “won”.

  9. “Biden: I refuse to impose my own morals on others.”

Yeah, that one was a hoot. Can’t interfere with women’s bodies on abortions but with obamacare the gov will own your body and tell you what you can and can’t do with it. Its ok when the government owns slaves.

I also enjoyed the geography lessons over afghanistan and the brag about flying around it in a chopper. Biden needs to check a map on which is bigger, Syria or Libya as he got those confused.

  10. @John.

There was no Lord Blarney. There is ,of course, a Blarney Castle, containing the Blarney Stone. Its in Co.Cork.

Blarney Castle was the seat of the McCarthys. They were in rebellion against the Crown. The McCarthy(the head of the clan)so obfuscated and bamboozled the beseiging English commander that “Blarney” passed into the language as a word for extreme verbiage.

This has nothing to do with the debate but facts are facts.

    Yours are wrong.

  11. “WASP elites wanted cheap Catholic labor from Ireland, Italy, Poland and now Latin America. They flooded their own country. Having Protestant vs Catholic arguments amongst whites in America is so sad. The white percentage of the population continues to plummet and you fools are worried about what religion this squalid third world country will be in the future.” Not necessarily “worrying about,” but at least recognising the extent of the religious shift that corresponds to the demographic shift, both far away from the original genetic and religious heritage of these states. “Sad”argument? Facts are facts, not emotions.

  12. if catholics are so great why did they have to flee catholic nations to find success? 313piss is anti true america in every way. Will I see you on the 28th?

  13. “The white percentage of the population continues to plummet and you fools are worried about what religion”: Does the religion of whites matter at all, as long as they are white?

  14. We may soon be elevating a cultist of the Mormon cult to the federal kingship, something unimagined by earlier generations. Either the Mormon, or a United Church of Christ Lapsed Muslim, and definitely a practising Romanist to be the vice chair.

  15. “combined with ‘Gurning’ (…) overdid things that Romney used but was still in command of”: Just what I was saying: he was “gurning,” and his straight-ticket-Democrat white Catholic supporters were certain to admire every glare that “showed how tough he is.”

  16. I stand corrected. Lord of Blarney Castle.
I do however what to correct a couple of things you have said.

It is quick common to drop the actual name of the lord of a castle and simply insert the castle name for theirs.
So the stylings: Lord Blarney and Lord of Blarney commonly occur around the story about Elizabeth. I also understand that she said it in response to said Lord’s ambiguous loyalty. Not a siege. The Elizabethan forces would have simply flattened any castle with cannon.

  17. “We may soon be elevating a cultist of the Mormon cult to the federal kingship, something unimagined by earlier generations. Either the Mormon, or a United Church of Christ Lapsed Muslim, and definitely a practising Romanist to be the vice chair.”-

Mosin- did anyone here read/see the WND column by Corsi, about ‘Obama’s Ring’ and how it encapsulates the first words of the Muslim oath?

Saying that today, and reading the previous sentence, makes me think of Tolkien’s -“One ring to bind them, etc.”

Sorry, giving the “O” way too much significance. (meaning B. O., not Oprah ‘O’)

That’s because Biden is drunken old pure sociopath, and Romney, for all his faults, is not.

  19. Fr John – of course the Paleo-Liberal media is trying to tout Old Drunk Joe as winning – but the fact that the CCN – Commie Coon News – poll indicates that Ryan won the Lox and Bagel Show – that’s a shift in the winds……..

Not just White Catholic Dems – all the Dems. I watched him speak in front of a crowd of Negroes. They LOVED him! “Dat old White Man sho’ is funny!”. He loved them too.

He was appealing to the base that AGREES with him. They don’t think he did ANYTHING wrong. They think he did just great.

  21. I agree with Gottfried that it makes no sense for whites to fight over religion, and that WASP elites are largely responsible for allowing and promoting the immigration mess. Even in small towns in the South, many Protestant churches are in love with foreign outreach and immigrants.

  22. Mosin Nagant says:
WASPs aren’t innocent victims in the USA, the WASP elites wanted cheap Catholic labor from Ireland, Italy, Poland and now Latin America. They flooded their own country.”

    Jack Ryan replies:

I support immigration of White Europeans from the nations you listed – don’t care if these White nations had “Catholic” White working class populations.

Hitler came of age in Austrian White working class, Catholic communities. The NSDAP was strongest in Bavaria/Munich – lower middle class Catholic areas.

Please don’t let Christian Church divisions left over from centuries long past destroy your/our ability to work with solid Indo European White communities.

My building and the maintenence of neighborhood buildings is controlled by ex-Yugoslavian Whites (Croatians, Serbs, even a few Bosnian Muslims), they are very solid, hard working White people, don’t take crap from Black criminals, punks, Libs etc.

  23. What is Romney but a member of yet another of the hundreds of thousands sects in the ongoing vanity project called Protestantism?

Jehova’s Witness, Baptist, Lutheran, Seventh Day Adventist, Mormon, and on and on and on. Once you take the first step, really it makes no difference. It’s all the same, no one better than the other.

Romney’s your guy, Protestant America. The fruition of all your unfettered liberties. A freak show of beliefs that would make even a pagan blush. This guy is going to unleash America’s full Satanic destiny on the world like you have never seen. But I know we can all rest assured you’ll still be blaming Catholics.

Believe me, we’re all hoping for the best here. Show me somebody who can do a damn thing for this country and I really don’t care what they believe in. But bottom line is we are so far away from hearing the Falconer, to paraphrase Yeats, that no greater good will come of this in a thousand years.

  24. A neocon site to be sure, but they expose Joe’s lies. I could not care less about Bibi and Israel, but the rest of the list is telling.

    Breitbart:
Fact Check: Top Ten Worst Lies by Joe Biden in VP Debate

    10. “With all due respect, that’s a bunch of malarkey….not a single thing he said is accurate.” At the outset of the debate, Biden tried to paint Ryan as a liar–when Biden, in fact, was the one lying. Ryan had pointed out: 1) that the White House had distanced itself from the Cairo embassy’s apologies on 9/11; 2) that Obama had failed to speak up for Iranian protestors in 2009; 3) that the Obama administration called Syria’s dictator a “reformer”; 4) and that the Obama administration is imposing defense cuts and projecting weakness. All of that is true.

    9. “The president has met with Bibi [Netanyahu] a dozen times….This is a bunch of stuff.” While they have met several times–not a dozen–that includes a meeting at which Obama made the Israeli prime minister enter the White House through a back entrance, refused to take a picture with him, and left him on his own for dinner. Specifically, Ryan had criticized Obama’s refusal to meet Netanyahu in New York last month, and to tape talk show interviews instead–a clear snub that sent the wrong signal, again, to Israel’s enemies.

    8. “Just let the taxes expire like they’re supposed to on those millionaires.” Biden’s “millionaires” are actually households earning more than $250,000 a year, which includes many middle-class families with two earners, and small business owners in particular who report business earnings as personal income. Biden and Obama have repeatedly labeled those earning over $250,000 as “millionaires and billionaires,” distorting the actual impact of their tax plan on the non-millionaires it would hit hardest, who create a vast proportion of small business jobs.

    7. “You know, I heard that death panel argument from Sarah Palin. It seems that every vice presidential debate, I hear this kind of stuff about panels.” Biden’s cheap shot against Palin was an attempt to diminish both her and the man sitting across from him. But Palin never talked about “death panels” in her debate with Biden, for the simple reason that Obamacare had not yet been proposed. Nor did Ryan mention “death panels”–he had addressed the undeniable fact that Obamacare proposes a board to impose cost controls.

    6. “The congressman here cut embassy security in his budget by $300 million below what we asked for.” Biden’s lie about Ryan’s budget was an attempt to dodge responsibility for lax embassy security–and to cover up that the Obama called for new cuts to embassy security just days after the 9/11 attacks. Ryan’s proposal, which called for a 19% overall decrease in non-defense discretionary spending, does not even mention embassy security–the Obama campaign merely made up that number by applying 19% across the board.

    5. “No, they are not four years closer to a nuclear weapon.” Biden’s attempt to lie about the glaring reality of the Iranian nuclear program fell flat. Iran is indeed four years closer to a nuclear weapon, and the Obama administration–believing it knew better than its predecessors–tried to reinvent the wheel on talks with Iran, causing frustration to our allies in Europe and the Middle East. Meeting after meeting this year has failed to produce results, and the loophole-filled sanctions, while hurting Iran somewhat, are not stopping its nuclear program.

    4. “No religious institution, Catholic or otherwise…has to be a vehicle to get contraception in any insurance policy they provide. That is a fact.” No, it is not a fact–it is the opposite of a fact, and saying “that is a fact” does not make it any less a blatant lie. The Obama administration is forcing religious institutions to provide contraceptive and abortion drugs through their insurance policies. That is the reason several dozen religious institutions are suing the administration to defend their First Amendment freedom of religion.

    3. “It came from this man voting to put two wars on a credit card…I was there. I voted against him.” Biden voted for both the Iraq war and the Afghanistan war. He did not vote for George W. Bush’s plan to extend coverage of Medicare to prescription drugs (though he voted for an earlier, similar proposal), nor did he vote for the Bush tax cuts. But he voted for both of the wars he derided last night. To quote Bill Clinton’s speech to the Democratic National Convention: “It takes some brass to attack a guy for doing what you did.”

    2. “What we did is we saved $716 billion and put it back — applied it to Medicare.” Biden repeated the lie the Obama administration has been telling since before Obamacare passed in 2010: that cuts to Medicare today were savings that extend the life of the program. They would be–if the same $716 billion wasn’t also being used to pay for Obamacare. As Ryan pointed out in 2010, and again last night, you can’t double-count the same cuts. Taking $716 billion out of Medicare means exactly that–and hurts, not helps, the program’s solvency.

    1. “Well, we weren’t told they wanted more security again.” Biden lied through his teeth about the fact that the administration–specifically, the State Department–had been told again and again that security on the ground in Libya, and in Benghazi in particular, was inadequate. The day before, in Congressional hearings on the Libya attacks, former regional security director Eric Nordstrom described his frustration with having those requests turned down by the government bureaucracy: “For me the Taliban is on the inside of the building.”

  25. Biden is probably more likely to attack Iran based on this Debate.

My god he pretends he had noting to do with Iraq! He’s the only real warmonger on stage.

  26. “the ultimate catholic Theocratic Statist state”?

Dixiegirl, you need to get back on your meds. Having said that I would agree RC hierarchy in many cases has sold out its White parishoners to the anti-Whites. But how is this any different than what Protestant leadership has been doing to its followers (and, I might add, for a lot longer than RC leadership has been doing it).

The only question that really matters is are you pro-White or are you anti-White. Do you think the anti-Whites really give a rat’s ass what church you go to before they decide to genocide you or not?

  27. Personal anecdote: I have legal relatives who are irish-italian catholics. Besides me, they are the only racially sensible people in my family. All my good anglo and german protestant family are clueless.

  28. Anglo’s have had their racism beaten out of em since 1865…

The Germans? I don’t think they were ever racists in the way the movies about Nazis make them out to be. Many Germans yearn for the cosmopolis and seem to dislike hierarchy or racial boundaries.

  29. Ride the tiger, Landshark. That’s what we traditional folk are all doing now in the Kali Yuga (Hesiod’s Iron Age). Evola rules!

Excellent Yeats quote…and my favorite two lines from the same poem:

The best lack all conviction, while the worst
    Are full of passionate intensity.

The worst with their “passionate intensity” sounds like a good description of Joe Biden or any other rabid liberal to me. Abundantly displayed by both Biden and the “impartial” moderator of the debate.

    Deo Vindice

  30. There is no branch of Christianity nor people among white European stock that is not afflicted by the root heresy of Liberalism which is leading to the destruction of western civilization as we know it. So it’s really rather pointless to engage in the religious wars.

But just like a prairie fire destroys the old to make room for new life, the decrepit Amurrican BRA Empire built on false liberal ideals must crash and burn. It cannot be redeemed anyway, only you, an individual person, can be.

The guttural voice, the voice of Satan in his pride, boasted to Our Lord: “I can destroy your Church.”
The gentle voice of Our Lord: “You can? Then go ahead and do so.”
Satan: “To do so, I need more time and more power.”
Our Lord: “How much time? How much power?”
Satan: “75 to 100 years, and a greater power over those who will give themselves over to my service.”
Our Lord: “You have the time, you will have the power. Do with them what you will.”

    Deo Vindice

People like “Dixiegirl” and “Mosin-Nagant” just alienate white allies in our fight to preseve a European America. I doubt she is even from Dixie..and if she is..she is unfortunately the stereotype of poor white trash that the Yankees use against the south,
    To Dixiegirl..
Yes miss paragon of the South,,I was born and raised a Catholic. I violently disagree with the present Catholic bishops on most of their social issues.. But miss queen of Dixie what makes you so ,much better than me??? My great great grandparents ( a newly married couple) took a boat from Ireland in 1835 and landed at the port of New York. They spent a couple of years their and their first child a daughter was born there. They then had the good sense to move south to Mobile, Alabama, where their first son was born in 1842, my great grandfather. he was 19 years old in 1861 when the war of northern aggression broke out. He went with his protestant and catholic fellow Alabamians and joined the 3rd Alabama Infantry regiment which was sent to join the Army of Northern Virginia. He stood in the Bloody lane at Antietam with Rode’s Alabama Brigade firing at yankee irish. he was wounded at Chancellorsville where his regiment led Jackson’s famous flank march around the Union lines. H e came home…married ..had grandsons and grandaughters in Mobile. The all like most protestants..marched off to war in 1941..my uncle was hero with the band of brothers regiment. So miss “Dixiegirl…what’s your qualifications to be a spokesperson for Dixie??? other than hating Catholics??

  32. Previous comment applies to Earlmundo Pitts. It was noted several months ago that he emerges to attack catholics whenever commenters here get close to blaming Jews..he’s a kosher troll

  33. Dixiegirl:
What Confederate regiment did your ancestors serve with ?? Same question to Mr. Russian rifle (Mosin Nagant)

  34. The vast majority of Irish born fought for the union. Absolutely lopsided stats. Not conjecture but fact. Same with the Germans. They were clearly hostile culturally to Dixie.

  35. John..your full of shit as well.. 40,000 Irish fought for the south, in proportion to our portion of the Southern population. So what Confederate unit did your ancestors fight` with?? Which state and regiment?

  36. “Look at Fr. John +. He hates us, and yet he’s still and stand-up guy with plenty of good points to make.” Robert Oculus

You are technically mistaken, Robert. As a Catholic myself, (but not a Romanist- mutually exclusive terms) it’s not the PEOPLE I hate, it’s what the system DOES to those people, that keeps them in denial about truth. THAT’s what I hate. And I hate that, simply because the Ecclesia does remain Semper Edeam.

You cannot say that of Rome, after Vatican II. Or the Schism. Or the Reformation.
You just cannot, and be taken seriously.
