Rubio Calls For U.S. To Defend Turkey Against Russia

By Hunter Wallace

This type of insane rhetoric alone should be enough to disqualify Rubio as a legitimate candidate for president:

“It is important for us to be very clear that we will respond and defend Turkey if they come under assault from the Russians. Otherwise the entire NATO alliance comes into question,” Rubio, who is running for president, said on Fox News.

“If Russia believes that they can respond and retaliate against Turkey because NATO is not going to do anything about it, what they are basically doing is making the argument that NATO is no longer viable, that it is a feckless alliance.”

The incident was the first time a NATO member has shot down a Russian target since the Cold War, and it threatened to escalate the political tensions surrounding the 4-year-old civil war in Syria. …”

The neocons are still smarting over their failure to start World War 3 during the Cold War. It was the one that got away.

Note: The fact that Trump isn’t being advised by these lunatics is one of the strongest arguments for his candidacy. It was his shining moment in the last debate.

  1. This convinces me that Rubio is either one of two things:

    1) A total moron, or;

    2) A return of the American “Cold Warrior”, who on principle believes that [in this case non-Communist] Russia represents the greatest existing threat to the American way of life.

I’m not sure which of the above defines Rubio. Could it not be both? His belief could be that Russia is America’s enemy, and that belief is genuinely principled. However, it may also be stupid.

I understand that Turkey is a NATO country and ostensibly America’s ally, but it’s been a long time since Turkey acted in public like an American ally. This is a bit delicate since wrong-headedness could further alienate Turkey from the West, but I’m not sure rhetoric supporting Turkey will change Erdogan’s direction.

  2. Haxo’s comment represents the stupid and useless element of OD, which is admittedly quite heavy. Mr. Adelson does not control a Sunni Islamic nation. Israel does not control a Sunni Muslim nation. All someone like Adelson has is money and access. Anyone with any intelligence knows that, if you really wanted to look (a la kook) at Adelson’s activities it would prove his lack of influence. But since he has money and is Jewish it makes for great wingnut fodder.

Can’t guys like Hack-off stick to the tried & true? Like Jews controlling Japan & along with FDR and the British Monarchy (and Churchill) causing the US entry into WW2. The stuff you really know about. (Oops, and the Dutch monarchy)

  3. People say Trump is a shill. Another dark horse. May be and wouldn’t surprise me but Jesus look what the alternatives are. The people running against Trump are the worst kind of idiots.

I wonder, where are the people who are clamoring for a war with Russia? Jews excepted. Do they think this will get them any votes at all or is it just for Jew money?

    • It is not possible to have an intelligent exchange with people like Sam. The irrational views and theories will always bar any rational exchange based on facts and educated opinion. Sam & other bottom-dwellers must have a one size fits all excuse, response or answer for every single situation. If you take away that crutch of idiocy they cannot process anything. Thus the 7-11 counter job,

Sam, give this a try. Attempt, in your world hypothetically attempt an analysis of the situation that does not involve “the Jews”. Of course you can argue with Israel as a nation with national interests, but no different than any other country in the Near or Middle East.

Go ahead and give it a try. You know, just as a WeeNie hypothetical exercise.

  4. Rubio simply disqualified himself from holding office.

For example Turkey regularly violates Greek Airspace. Incursions that last minutes buzzing airfields and cities. Greece would technically be justified in shootdowns.

Turkey pointlessly shot down a jet that violated airspace for no more than 10 seconds in an area that contains no sensitive installations.
Clearly the Turk F-16’s mission was to ambush.

Rubio is nuts to have said what he said.

  5. Rubio’s warmongering is bizarre. Reminds me of a suborned Churchill. With none of the gravitas and extensive CV of service.

Rubio has not earned this bellicose attitude.

    • Thank you for writing rwo normal, provocative and quite intelligent posts. No question, you’ve proven me wrong.

On the Greece thing, you’re right, though that’s what they do to each other. Both being NATO members I can’t see an incident. These days it’s probably best to never say never.

You are also right about the shoot down. I think it was an SU-24. It was likely going at least 600 mph, maybe as fast as just around the sound barrier. That piece of Turkey that sticks into Syria is pretty small and you’re right, again (!!), about the plane not being there very long. It was a bulls**t move.

What really is the problem is what happened to the two crew members (pilots). Not long ago there was a similar incident around the Golan Heights. A Russian plane came over the Israeli border just a few hundred meters, or maybe it was a bit more (like 800 meters). The Israeli’s shot it down. You didn’t hear a lot about it because the Russians knew what they were doing, probing Israeli defenses, and were prepared for a reaction.

What is very, very different is the pilot in the Israeli incident floated down in Syria, safe. In the Turkish situation the pilots were shot and killed while parachuting down. That is something no country can abide. It’s no better than murdering the pilots. In fact it is murdering the pilots. Except for Barry Obama no leader of a nation capable of responding would hesitate.

  6. Like it or not, the powers that be have selected Hillary to be the next President. They made the mistake, the last two times, of putting clowns and ridiculous characters up against their candidate. This time, however, they’ll put Bush up as the “respectable,” credible opposition that will lose, as planned.

  7. Turkey wouldn’t allow U.S. forces to deploy from their country during the Iraq war, but we’re supposed to be patsies and support them against Russia.

The cabana boy’s comments are another example of why he’s not a serious choice for Trump’s running mate. Just as Clinton pick Al Gore to add gravitas to the ticket, Trump will choose someone like Ted Cruz.

  8. O/T but not really – have you Goys seen Trumps latest wife? OMG!!! Is she a Russian? Melania Trump is stunning. Their little boy is GORGEOUS! Such beautiful people. He has so many kids a few losses to the Tribe are of no concern. After the YEARS of enduring the horror of every time I open a website, and am ambushed by the ghastly images of the grotesque bonobos clothed in Human garb aka the “Obamas”, the Trumpenkreig Clan is a dazzling visual feast for the ocular nerve!

    Heil the Trumpenkreig!

  9. Maybe Rubio was confused, thought the Russians had a conflict with an American Thanksgiving Day Turkey.

On the plus side, our enemies – the cursed Neo Conservatives (not all Jews) seem very much beaten down, reduced to making obscure, snide remarks on CNN saying “We ought to go to war with Russia or get Assad” or something.

    • What do you think of the idea that what the Balkans were to Europe and the world between 1870-1914, the Near East is today? There are some extremely dangerous potential situations in that region, with too many military and other interests in very close proximity to one another.

Because of the obvious dangers and our weak leadership I am tempted to conclude we need out of Syria. Our efforts have been very poorly handled and things are probably not going to get any better. Other than making some genuine efforts to help Syrian Christians, what’s wrong with leaving it to the Russians? The US never had significant interests in Syria and maybe we should learn something from Iraq. Like there are no circumstances where a republic will end up in Syria. Isn’t a stable Syria under Assad the best achievable endgame?

      • There are some parallels between this incident and Serbia and World War I and Poland and World War II. It says a lot about the Republican establishment that they think Bush or Rubio are the “serious candidates” in the race while Trump is a “carnival barker.”

        • On Bush, why do our wonderful MSM, such strong believers in democracy, try to foist upon us second rate aristocracies? Another Bush? Hilldabeast? This is the media’s view of democracy, the best people we can produce? The same media that promotes the CSA as like apartheid-era South Africa, but much worse?

To date, Rubio seems a tool. I think he’s likely to be on the Republican ticket. Why? I’m not really sure. On the other hand he couldn’t be worse than Barry O. I guess he’s what you get when half you childhood is in Indonesia

  10. “…Trump will choose someone like Ted Cruz.”

Let’s hope not. Rafael is an insider with a sign on his chest that says “outsider”. That anyone still falls for the rhetoric is a testament to why we’re still saddled with GOPe.

Rubio thinks he’s scoring points. He is, with his donors. But it’s gotten to the point that a score with donors is an automatic loss with voters. He has that high school kid look about him that says “what, what’d I do wrong? It shoulda worked!”

  11. The NATO alliance SHOULD come into question. It was set up as a purely defensive alliance against Soviet military aggression in non Communist Europe.

The Soviet Union is gone and NATO should have gone with it. Instead, it has become a purely aggressive force used against ex- communist Europe, Russia and ME.

  12. I stand with Russia. There is ZERO doubt that the US warmongers have been trying to install a puppet government in Syria for years now. Turkey has been supporting the “moderate” terrorists almost as much as the US. The shooting down of a Russian jet had nothing to do with a supposed airspace violation, and everything to do with the fact that Russia was bombing the “moderate” terrorists as much as the ones calling themselves ISIS. It’s even been shown that Turkey has a long, long history of airspace violations with its neighbors. You can take it to the bank that if Turkey had its jets shot down in a similar scenario, the US would be condemning the actions and calling it a provocation of war.

Do you know why our stooge “leaders” can lie so effortlessly, wave their hypocrisy in everyone’s face and not even try to hide it too much? Because average White Americans sit on their ass and are still worried about who “their team” is going to be playing this week.

Rubio is a waterboy for the globalists. He couldn’t piece together an original thought in his head if his life depended on it. I really mean that. The guy is an idiot. From top to bottom, the Republican party is full of people like him who have no desire for truth and serving the American people.

  13. ‘I stand with Russia. There is ZERO doubt that the US warmongers have been trying to install a puppet government in Syria for years now. Turkey has been supporting the “moderate” terrorists almost as much as the US. The shooting down of a Russian jet had nothing to do with a supposed airspace violation, and everything to do with the fact that Russia was bombing the “moderate” terrorists as much as the ones calling themselves ISIS.’

    That is the truth.

Rubio, to anyone who knows even a bit of this truth, comes across like a toxin – bold policy declaration formulated for those whose news diet is the exclusive consumption of network broadcasts.

When I see him calling on us to attack Russia (the few trying to actively defend Western Civilization)and support Turkey – who are training the enemies of it, I literally feel my stomach wretching.

  14. Yes, it is hard to say there is no difference between Trump and Rubio. There is a big difference on foreign policy even if Trump would preserve the US Empire. Rubio is unquestionably the neocon candidate.

  15. Yes, of course “we” (what you mean “we” Jewish person? 🙂 should leave Syria to the Russians.

“We” should leave lots of places to the Russians.

    Ukraine, Crimea…. Germany, Sweden, Alaska.

And an invasion of good looking, fun Russian gals is desperately needed at the University of Chicago. I met won, wasted a lot of time giving her tennis lessons, she’s a twin of Maria Sharapova. Unfortunately she’s deeply in a no sex church and gets hysterical just to be in the same hotel suite as a heterosexual White male – me.! Anna Kournikova is more fun. Still, why would any sane, healthy White Western person not support Vladimir Putin and the Russians? Everything he/they do is right.

    • The Univ of Chicago’s co-eds were famous in my day as amongst the “not shave the legs” crowd. I think Sam & Denise mentioned hanging out at some college there to meet dates. I don’t know anything about the school. Chicago State?

Jack, we’ve all run into our share of brick walls. Just hope it didn’t cost you too much!

  16. Denise
‘ have you Goys seen Trumps latest wife? OMG!!! Is she a Russian? Melania Trump is stunning. Their little boy is GORGEOUS!’

    She is Slovene.

Denise, I’m not totally on board with Putin, yet.

If he obliterates ISIS and manages to holocaust Israel and Warkike in the process, I’m 100% in.

  17. ‘Still, why would any sane, healthy White Western person not support Vladimir Putin and the Russians? Everything he/they do is right.’

I agree, Mr. Ryan – still, there are an awful lot of people running around, who fit your description, and who have not yet pickt up on the psyche war being waged to undermine them.

It’s hard to break through the massive web of disinformation placet around us, since WWII.

    That’s why:)

    • If you can’t arrange Slovaks, Croats are an option. Latvians & Lithuanians have a record you admire, but I really think it’s the Ukrainians who could ring your bell on tossing this out. And you may as well keep chewing the scenery because these boys are dumb as a stump about you. You keep that female name, throw out a few flirtatious lines now and again, and you could get away with even more. Although to be honest, I don’t know how much more you can do. You have already demonstrated greater knowledge of Yiddish than most Jews in America.

And some of the other stuff. What do you call you blog-The tea-bagging room, or something? For your next trick why don’t you come with a story behind a new name? You were torn between “the Watering Hole” or “Paths of Glory”, so you put them together for your new blog, “Denise’s Glory Hole”! Perfect for the “new WN”.

  18. I’m sorry Sam. In my exuberance at all the Wonderful Things that are happening, I saw “Trump” where I should have read “Putin”.

The Rus are TRULY cheesed about the downed planes. Syria is a back door to Russia – I kid you now. Putin had to move. He knows the Tribe are gunning for HIM.

    Deeds, not words. Wait………….it’s coming.

  19. What Putin should do is make sure he sweeps away the rebels and Mercs in Syria.

Keep your eye on the ball.

The Turks are just acting stupid at this point. Obviously angry that the Russians have decimated the Turk proxy army in the area. Putin has also shown Obama for the Muslim-sympathizer that he is.

  20. ‘You keep that female name, throw out a few flirtatious lines now and again, and you could get away with even more’

Warspite : just because you do not like Miss Denise’s Weltanschuung, does not mean you have to call into question that she is who she says she is, nor ought you use her name in a disparaging manner.

In my view, those things tend to undermine what you are trying to articulate.

    • Ok Junius. You’re right. Go on & keep believing. Some things are a matter of faith.

I’ll proceed based upon my opinion of the record. I guess you might say I will proceed based on reason.

What’s this “don’t like” accusation? I find the Denise character interesting and usually hysterical. The aforementioned knows more about Jewish liturgy and practice than most Jews I’ve met! More than I know.

  21. One thing’s for sure, there’s no need for us to waste our blood treasure fighting other people’s wars. This kind of talk is yet another good argument for going separate ways. Especially if that figure saying that Southerners make up 40% of the U.S. military is true. If the non-Southern establishment figures and groups want to fight WWIII so badly, they should put their people in harm’s way. Madeleine Albright’s cold-blooded comment from the 90’s comes to mind.

  22. Interested – to a Jew like AlNotSoBright – all the Goyim are things to be used, and discarded. Re; fighting wars? The Jewhadis are bringing the war to the West.

    • Madeline NotSoBright Jewish? Ha! Only by a Eugenics theory. In fact, her not being Jewish is what convinced me of her lack of genius. I refer to her official story, and her surprise. A liar or not too smart? Or ashamed?

I see the Denise shift has changed.

  23. “Denise, I’m not totally on board with Putin, yet.
If he obliterates ISIS and manages to holocaust Israel and Warkike in the process, I’m 100% in.”

Sam, that would be the Parousia. And warspittle will be in hell, like all his compatriots. The Eternally Guilty.
“… but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains. … John 9:41

    • What a bunch of lunatic garbage. As long as fruitcakes like this are WeeNies, and can be easily would up by Project Denise, no one need be concerned about the WN movement!

This third rate court jester must have stepped out of a pre-Vatican II meeting of priests only interested in “following orders”. And boys in their early to mid teens, of course. Unless you’re Mel Gibson’s father, no Catholic in an English speaking country buys your nonsense.

Maybe you’re 80 yrs old and were educated by some deeply antisemitic mentor. Other than that, there is no explanation for your horrible theology. You adopt a conclusion then work backwards. What a surprise!

I think you would do well to have some conversations with a priest, or maybe even a bishop. By any measure or any from any angle in 2015 you are not only wrong, your interpretations suggest a deeply disturbed individual.

  24. Rubio is a halfwit pretty boy, a puppet of the Jews. That anyone would take this fool to be a serious contender for the presidency s incredible.

  25. Rubio is actually comedy gelte! He’s punching way over his head, and hits himself in the face every time! He needs to be who he truly id- the Vibrant masseuse in a Jew Fag spa! Send him to Tel Aviv!

    • Rubio is a puppet of the Jews? Don’t you really mean a marionette? LOL. Where DO you guys come up with this stuff! I guess anyone who supports the right of Israel to exist is a tool of the Jews. Damn, that covers a lot of pols! You really think it’s possible for 12% or 13% of the population to do that?? (I’m figuring there must be -at least-as many Jews in the US are there are blacks to be so ubiquitous and have such enormous influence)

You do have your puppets wrong. Ted Cruz has long been on the Zionist payroll. If Rubio is now an agent, CI, rep, etc. of International Zion it has happened at the highest levels and since last year. I’ll find out for you tomorrow in Denver & let you know. I leave for our beautiful airport in 20 minutes. A limo will be picking me up. It’s standard so we don’t have to deal with parking.

As Denise is aware, I won’t be flying direct, as no second tier level does. We have to confuse those state bureaus, right D? However, after 32 yrs of attending I have earned first class for travel. It may actually be 33 yrs, I think. I’ll have to check my membership card.

  26. Rubio is just repeating what his Jewish donors and Jewish policy makers are telling him. This tells us who is controlling Rubio. Rubio is a puppet for his Jewish donors- Pro Turkey, pro ISIS and anti Russian(Christian).

Israel and American jewish political groups want Assad out of power and they will help ISIS in order to get Assad out of power. If ISIS does remove Assad from power, then those same jews will then talk about just how crazy those Syrian Muslims are, of course omitting that it is they that put those ISIS type of muslims in power in the first place.

  27. Rubio is just following his Jews script. He probably doesn’t have a clue.

I’ve read that the plane was not in Turkish airspace. That the Turks made a five mile “security zone” line inside of Syria that they call their space and that’s where the Russian plane was shot down. That changes the situation to be even more drastic as it is now. The situation is very dangerous.

This adds with the Malaysian plane brought down by the Jews in the Indian ocean. Notice right after they bought the plane down the Jew media screamed that it was in Pakistan. They were going to use this plane as another false flag. Unfortunately for the Jews they were caught. They bought another plane exactly like the Malaysian plane from Malaysian airlines and said they were going to dismantle it for parts in Florida. Like Boeing doesn’t sell spare parts already for their planes. But surprise, surprise plane spotters found the plane in a hanger in Israel. Probably fitting it out for some kind of mayhem.

See what they’re doing. The Malaysian plane is bought down by their control of the automatic flight control. It has a lot of Chinese on it. They leak that it went to Diego Garcia air base. Even leak that an engineer took a photo there with an iphone he hid up his ass. So instead of the Jews it’s the Americans that did it. Now Americans control Turkey and attack Russia. So the Jews start a third world war with Russia/China vs. US and all their biggest opponents are taken out at once. They sit in their shelters and laugh their psychopathic laughs. I hope someone in the sub service realizes this and nukes them good.

    • I knew I could count on one or more of you genuine wingnuts to give me something to pass out at the meeting!

At only about 12% of the US population 35,000,000, plus what? Another 35m in the rest of the world, Jews have to work super duper hard to do all the stuff genius WeeNies ascribe to them. A mere 1% of the world’s population has to work hard to control the other 99%!

  28. Sam – there are a LOT more Hebes than they let on. There are 2 sets of books – one for themselves, and one for the Goyim. Multiply ANY population numbers by 5.

City Data provides clues, in the “religion” dept.

    • See, you wouldn’t doubt an authority like Denise, right. She will attest to there being as many Jews as Blacks in America. Plus another 8%-9% of Canada’s population, which constitutes our North American reserve force. In the event our Hebrew brothers in, e.g., the Southwest was cut off we have over 3,000,000 in Canada to bring in. I personally have worked with the 100,000 strong Sons & Daughters of David organization in Calgary. Also took in a Flames game or two. I wasn’t as close to the Edmonton chapter with The Great One and all. (How do you think he was able to play in L.A., dummy!)

Even with the 36-36m in the US, a little over 3 in The Great White North, the number is under 40m. Unless you consider Mexico in North America, as well as Curaçao. There are so many in Curaçao, Bonaire was made a closed city over 50 yrs ago dedicated to the International Zionist World Control resort built there. It’s covered up by being billed as a serene diving destination. LOL, means certain Gentiles are allowed in for scuba diviing. In the old days I heard they had Frank and Dino, Charlton Heston, Lloyd Bridges & his kids, Ava Gardner, Lizabeth Scott & Eartha Kitt, Lena Horne, etc. Do you think Paul McCartney & Elvis should be in the old days?? LOL.

I stopped paying attention two or three yrs after Kurt Cobain came, along with that foul mouthed Catholic wife who later offed him. There’s still a lot of glam & prestige in hanging out during Passover & such, but I’d rather go to the one in Hawaii. In fact, it’s been so long since I’ve been to the Bonaire shindig the last time I was there I hung out with Tori & that cute blonde gal who was on the show with her. Talk about white! I never met the nasty one, but thought Tiffany A-T a LOT of fun.

  29. Denise,

There are enough clearly identifiable problems with real, anti White, anti Southern Jewish individuals, organizations without people going off the deep end with wild conspiracy theories claiming somehow the JOOOOOOZ are responsible for plane crashes, climate change etc.

Arch Zionist spy Jonathon Pollard was just released this week. Alternative Right blogs should have commented, demonstrated the Israeli 5th column in our country – but too many people are obsessed with weird stuff regular folk think these CT people are loons.

  30. Warspite,”…I stopped paying attention two or three yrs after Kurt Cobain came, along with that foul mouthed Catholic wife who later offed him…”

Cobains wife Courtney claims to be Jewish. There’s a documentary movie about her and Kurt where a El Duce on camera said Courtney offered him $50,000 to kill Kurt. Unfortunately for him 2 weeks later he was run over by a train.

Courtney appears to be a psychopath from the reactions to her. Her Father, a lot of acquaintances, her former boyfriend and the investigator she hired to look into Kurt’s disappearance. Her daughter even got a restraining order on Courtney not to come near her.

An interesting video about Kurt and the “self described” Jew Courtney.

    • Courtney Love, Jewish? Ha ha ha. You have zippo understanding of what she’s all about if you’re going by what she says in public. She wants people like to to swallow her bs. Part of her artistry.

Great first album by her band Hole, though!

Cobain was the Jewish one. Courtney just a contrarianistic wannabee. Not too fond of her Catholic upbringing!

  31. Denise
‘Sam J – with Jews you lose EVERYTHING….your society, your country, your like.’

Our politicians are totally jewed out! Our voices and concerns mean NOTHING! Jews own them, lock, stock and barrel.

Ted Cruz openly, shamelessly cucks for traitor kike Pollard.

    Ted Cruz’s Favorite Rabbi
Ted Cruz and rabbi to the stars Shmuley Boteach have forged an unlikely friendship over an unusual issue: the release of a convicted spy.
Thanks to an atypical shared interest, Ted Cruz has befriended an extraordinarily well-connected rabbi—a relationship that could pay big dividends as his presidential campaign gains momentum.

Shmuley Boteach, one of the pro-Israel community’s most colorful and well-connected leaders, and Ted Cruz have built a close and trusting bond. The two have connected over a shared stance on a controversial spy and have helped each other advance their political ends.

In an interview with The Daily Beast, the rabbi said he and Cruz bonded over their commitment to Israel and said they both have advocated for convicted spy Jonathan Pollard, who spent 30 years in prison for selling highly classified intelligence to the Israeli government.

That friendship has yielded help for both sides. Cruz has been introduced to Boteach’s friends—like megadonor Sheldon Adelson—and Boteach has gotten the inside track on issues he cares about—like the release of Pollard. Boteach said the senator privately gave him a heads-up that the White House was planning to release Pollard, as The Hill initially reported.

“Of course, he has been a very big advocate for Pollard’s release,” said Boteach, who noted that he shared that view and once visited the spy in prison. (snip)

    • Are you aware what a boring, snooze you are. Same thing, over and over and over. The same 10 or 12 Jews, over and over and over. It’s too repetitive and boring to be called a broken record. The vinyl with a skip in it might be LZ II, while you are just some diseased mind manic, or worse.

And you’re so stupid you fall again & again into the trap set by the Denise Character. Are you really so stupid you don’t get what is being done to you? Personally, I don’t care. Keep it up because do you really think they can’t find out who you are, where you live, etc., with a push of the button? But go ahead, keep letting “Denise” lead you by the nose, you pathetic moron.

  32. Sam,

If Ted Cruz goes to Washington, that will be the closest thing to planting a Confederate flag on the oval office, because the senator is the only leading candidate who speaks constantly about constitutionalism and rule of law.

If you don’t like Cruz’s relationship to the Jewish lobby, with whom would you replace him? : Trump, Bush, Carson, or Rubio?

  33. Junius
‘If you don’t like Cruz’s relationship to the Jewish lobby, with whom would you replace him?

I’m sure you know, since I’ve made it abundantly clear.

More on rat Pollard. He should have been executed. Shame on Cruz!!

Pollard and the Poisonous “Ally” Israel
    NOVEMBER 20, 2015

The official and ecstatic Israeli welcome given to Jewish spy Jonathan Pollard’s release has definitively revealed the hate-filled attitude of the Jewish state toward America—and how poisonous the US’s supposed “best ally in the Middle East” actually is.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hailed Pollard’s release, saying that he had “longed for this day. The people of Israel welcome the release of Jonathan Pollard.”

Israeli President Reuven Rivlin said in a statement that “Over the years, we’ve felt Pollard’s pain and felt responsible and obliged to bring about his release.”

The full caucus of the Israeli Knesset (parliament) said in an official statement released by its chairman Nahman Shai, that it “would not rest until [Pollard] was free to depart the United States for any destination of [his] choosing, first and foremost—Israel.”

Pollard’s release was judicially correct: he had served a full 30 years in prison, and had qualified for parole.

But his crime was so heinous, so outrageous, and so devastating to America, that it is an indication of the poisonous nature of the Israeli state that it has officially welcomed the spy’s release in such a manner.

At the time of Pollard’s sentencing, US Secretary of Defense Caspar Weinberger made a formal statement before the court (original PDF here) explaining why Pollard had to be sentenced to jail for a long period.

    In his statement, Weinberger wrote:

It is difficult for me, even in the so-called “year of the spy,” to conceive of a greater harm to national security than that caused by the defendant in view of the breadth, the critical importance to the US, and the high sensitivity of the information he sold to Israel.

That information was intentionally reserved by the United States for its own use, because to disclose it, to anyone or any nation, would cause the greatest harm to our national security.

In so doing, he both damaged and destroyed policies and national assets which have taken many years, great effort, and enormous national resources to secure.
The exact nature of Pollard’s offenses were so serious that they are still classified. Israel in fact, denied for sixteen years after his sentencing that Pollard had even been on their payroll. (snip)

Pollard gave the Israelis vast amounts of data dealing with specific American intelligence systems and how they worked.

A number of officials strongly suspect that the Israelis repackaged much of Pollard’s material and provided it to the Soviet Union.

A significant percentage of Pollard’s documents, including some that described the techniques the American Navy used to track Soviet submarines around the world, was of practical importance only to the Soviet Union.

One longtime CIA officer who worked as a station chief in the Middle East said he understood that “certain elements in the Israeli military had used it”—Pollard’s material—“to trade for people they wanted to get out,” including Jewish scientists working in missile technology and on nuclear issues.

They also said that the documents that Pollard had been directed by his Israeli handlers to betray led them to no other conclusion.

High-level suspicions about Israeli-Soviet collusion were expressed as early as December, 1985, a month after Pollard’s arrest, when William J. Casey, the late CIA director, who was known for his close ties to the Israeli leadership, stunned one of his station chiefs by suddenly complaining about the Israelis breaking the “ground rules.”

The issue arose when Casey urged increased monitoring of the Israelis during an otherwise routine visit, I was told by the station chief, who is now retired. “He asked if I knew anything about the Pollard case,” the station chief recalled, and he said that Casey had added, “For your information, the Israelis used Pollard to obtain our attack plan against the USSR all of it. The coordinates, the firing locations, the sequences. And for guess who? The Soviets.”

Casey had then explained that the Israelis had traded the Pollard data for Soviet emigres. “How’s that for cheating?” he had asked. (snip)

I’m sure you know, since I’ve made it abundantly clear.’

No, Sir, I do not know – I misst those remarks.

I owned a body shop years ago that repaired customer cars and dealer vehicles.

When parts were needed that were on back order or were not made any more we had to get items from salvage yards and make due.

At times we had to choose the best items available in a yard full of distressed or damaged goods.

In my opinion Trump is the best option in the picked over bone yard.

Thank you for your reply, Sam. I liked your analogy.

I prefer Cruz, because his track is clear and known, much as Trump’s remains murky.

Though I do not think a President Trump would realign our alliances, I do agree with you that Trump’s presidency could be a big boon to the country.

I appreciate that, as publick figures go, Trump is at the very edge of straight-talking; further, his understanding of business is desperately needed, at a time when we borrow a million dollars a minute, and have lost almost our entire manufacturing base, and, of course, the immigration situation is totally insane – and we could believe that he would make some appreciable headway on that.
