Trump’s Mexico Gamble Was a Huge Win

“About an hour before Donald Trump made his joint statement with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, a strategist in Trump’s extended circle saw success on the horizon.

“I bet they have a nice meeting where they both explain their positions and promise to talk further — it doesn’t have to be any more complicated than that,” the strategist explained. “If [Trump] just has a calm, behind-closed-doors meeting, has a photo taken, looks presidential, and gets out of town, that’s a big win.”

Indeed, it was a big win — a very big win — for Trump. Going into a meeting with the potential for disaster — who knew how Pena Nieto would receive the world’s most controversial presidential candidate or what embarrassments might lie ahead? — Trump came out of the meeting looking very much like a potential President of the United States. Standing beside the Mexican leader in front of a green-gray granite wall reminiscent of the United Nations, Trump presented the picture of a statesman.

Less than 24 hours earlier, Trump was reciting “The Snake” before a rowdy audience in Everett, Washington. In Mexico, he looked like a statesman. …”

Trump knocked this one out of the park. He came across as firm, presidential, qualified and a tough negotiator who will advance America’s interests. He looked like a statesman who can accomplish his goals while striking a softer tone. Most importantly, the Trump curious can now visualize Trump as negotiator-in-chief:

What is Hillary left with after this? All she can do is sputter “racist, racist, racist” and “bigot, bigot, bigot.” It will come across as weak and politically correct.

Note: The “unqualified” tag is holding Trump down in the polls. After this display, he looks very qualified and like the strong negotiator he claims to be.

One possible reason the president of Mexico called for this and then not being a petulant snot was the possibility of terrorism that came thru Mexico. Southern Command a DoD branch made an explicit warning that terrorist sympathizers have used that route

    • Maybe this Mexican is White Nationalist. Mexico by the looks of him is White Supremist. I know his sons are pretty handsome and the daughters easy on eye.

  4. Mexico has a problem with immigrants coming up from Central America in order to enter the U.S. Making it more difficult to enter the U.S. could help MX too.

    • Trump ought to talk about how much he admires Mexico and wishes to emulate them, especially regarding immigration law. Mexico’s immigration laws are extremely harsh, and rigorously enforced. If you even *look* Central American, police assume your citizenship card is fake.

        Millions of Mexicans look central American. I doubt they’re being beaten to a pulp by their own police.

        • No, the Messicans can tell the difference between their mestizoes and the New World Indians from Central America.

          • But not all central Americans are full indios. Not even a majority are. I doubt Mexico’s efforts to prevent their infiltration is based very much on racial appearance.

        • It happens, especially when mestizos migrate to the whiter northern states to look for factory jobs. Latin America never had a civil-rights movement and probably never will. Race officially doesn’t exist there, so if you ask why people of lighter complexion own most of the land and get all the good jobs, or why everyone on TV looks like they just flew in from Germany, you’re likely to fall down several flights of stairs in a one-story police station.

        • Lots of Mexicans are indigenous. The Mexican nation was created by Europeans. So, prior to the arrival of Europeans there was no Mexican border. The indians in Central America were the same as those in Mexico. But they can tell by their accents. And a lot of Central Americans get robbed by gangs and police as they travel through Mexico to the U.S. I’ve talked to people from Central America who have told me about their experiences.

    • Once you know what to look for you can spot these Central Americans out from ordinary Mexicans. They are mostly very short full blooded Mayan Indians.

    Well–I myself am a racist. If Hillary Clinton says I’m a racist, I don’t think of her as “sputtering.” I think of her as making a statement, one with which I agree.

  6. Maybe he couldn’t “combat” the notion that Mexico sends drugs, crime and rapists because it DOES!

    • What it sends is SERIOUS ORGANIZED CRIME, Trumps speech focusing on “rape” sounds more petty crime than mafia threat these gangs actually are.

  8. What makes the Mexicans think they have a choice about whether a wall goes up or not or whether they will be made to pay for it. They have no choice.

    I’m wondering if Trump went to Mexico and behind closed doors offered to help the Mexican President to eliminate the narco-terror state that de facto rules a sizable portion of Mexico. This is one of the factors that is driving immigration. If it is the case that the President or much of his administration if compromised through corruption there certainly could have been threats to expose the state’s connection to the cartels and pledges to attempt to prosecute their officials.

    • The media portrays the Meth epidemic as being controlled by white skinheads. In reality it is dominated by Mexicans and they have set up shop in many American towns and cities.

      • That last season of Breaking Bad really went off the deep end with the “Nazi Prison Gang” thing. You see posters on IMDB thinking these prison gangs are political activists, when they are simply apolitical criminals whose response to racial reality in the prison system is get a bunch of Tattoos that blacks and mexicans find the most scary.

  15. The countries south of the border need to start learning and accepting that the United States is a sovereign nation, not a jobs program for the rest of the world. Maybe Trump can start setting them right.

  22. I would like to personally apologize to Mr. Trump. Due to a history of being betrayed by politicians and listening to the media I was convinced that he would embrace some form of amnesty. Instead Trump stayed true to his message and eloquently put forward an America First immigration policy. I am now fully supportive of his campaign and won’t doubt him again.

  25. Simple fact. Mexico, like all the other Latin Ametican countries, Has a white, Spanish/Portuguese ruling and upper class. The Mestizos are in the middle, and the Indios are at the bottom. Most of the interlopers in Mexico are Indios. Many can’t even speak Spanish.
