I had a low carb bowl yesterday for lunch.
What is a low carb bowl? It is basically like a taco salad without taco shells. It usually takes the form of some meat as a base (fajita chicken, fajita steak, carnitas, ground beef, ground turkey), plus some form of shredded cheese, plus some form of leafy green (spinach or lettuce), plus Pico de Gallo or salsa plus sour cream and guacamole. Hold off on the rice and beans.
If you are feeling weak and low energy on a low carb or Keto diet, it is probably your electrolytes. You will need to supplement with lots of potassium rich foods like avocados or spinach. In my experience, having a bowl for lunch with guacamole and spinach is the best solution. If you are on the go and need to eat out, you can always get a bowl at Chipotle. Try eating an avocado a day as a snack.
