Because in the latter scenario, the entire culture has said rather explicitly that is is ok. If only Jeffrey Epstein had waited until Virginia Robert’s 18th birthday, and paid her to be filmed having sex with these men, then distributed that film, he wouldn’t be in trouble, he would be considered a legitimate businessman.

In colloquial language, the word has been somewhat disingenuously expanded to encompass sexual involvement with anybody under the legal age of consent. The age of consent is an arbitrary statutory imposition. The reality is that once a girl reaches puberty and is able to bear children, she is – biologically-speaking – a woman.
In a traditional society, wouldn’t 13/14 year old girls be prepared by their families for marriage to older men? I am not here suggesting I approve or disapprove of such things, I merely note and observe certain nuances to the issue. The reason we call girls of that age ‘children’ is due to the pervasive value system you – rightly – denounce: among it, statism, left-liberalism and feminism.
Should women of fertile age be recognised to have moral agency? Or are they the property of their families and the wider community (especially their husbands-to-be and their families), with decisions about sex, marriage and property in the hands of the community’s patriarchs ultimately?
Looking at the Rotherham phenomenon here in Britain, much of that will have been down to how ethnic Moslems distinctively regard female sexuality as a communitarian responsibility. Who a young woman marries and has sex with is an issue of great importance to any community that seeks to replicate itself. It’s not just a private matter. This will have created frustrations among Moslem men. Moslems are not, on the whole, an individualistic culture as white Britons are. This underscores why racial diversity can’t work, but it also raises questions for us. The state has now wrapped a protective cloak over everybody, and especially women, taking the place of such things as culture and private authority.

pedophilia is an actual thing being sexually attracted to or having sex with a prepubescent. a 14 year old is a “young adult”.
