NEW: We’ve only been here about an hour and already a large group of 46 migrants just crossed the Rio and presented themselves to local deputies here in Del Rio, TX. Several of the migrants I asked said they are coming from Venezuela, just like yesterday. @FoxNews pic.twitter.com/yGy0wc5kvf— Bill Melugin (@BillFOXLA) May 9, 2021
DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is currently testifying before Congress this morning on the threat to national security posed by shitlords ridiculing the incompetence of the political establishment.
“WASHINGTON — Attorney General Merrick Garland and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas are set to testify Wednesday before a Senate committee about the threat of domestic extremism facing the nation.
Both Cabinet members are scheduled to speak about the issue at a 10 a.m. ET hearing before the Senate Appropriations Committee.
Their testimony comes as the Department of Homeland Security launched a new strategy to collect and analyze intelligence about security threats from public social media posts. …”
He is doing a helluva job on the border.
The border wasn’t this bad even when George W. Bush was president.
“U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents encountered 178,622 illegal immigrants attempting to cross the border in April, the highest one-month total in two decades, according to data released Tuesday.
The number represents a 3 percent increase from the previous month. Meanwhile, the number of single adults arrested by U.S. agents at the border grew to more than 111,000 in April — the highest monthly total in more than a decade — as Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) used the Title 42 public health order to return most of them to Mexico. …”
The border is 10x as bad as it was at this time a year ago. Immigration faded as an issue in the 2020 election because of COVID restrictions.
“Apprehensions of undocumented immigrants at the US border with Mexico rose to a fresh 15-year high in April as the Biden administration failed to deter migrants, official data showed Tuesday.
US Customs and Border Protection reported it had interdicted 178,622 people trying to enter the United States without official immigration papers last month, up more than 5,000 from March’s high numbers.
The figure was also more than ten times that of April 2020, when a tough crackdown by president Donald Trump’s government was in place. …”
The shitlords are only pointing out the obvious though. The overwhelming majority of the country is opposed to Joe Biden’s immigration policies.
“Twenty Republican governors are urging the Biden administration to take further action on the crisis at the southern border as the question of where to house the surge in unaccompanied children is impacting states — with the governors describing the situation as “unacceptable and unsustainable.”
“The crisis is too big to ignore and is now spilling over the border states into all of our states,” the letter to President Biden, from governors from states including South Dakota, Georgia, Iowa, Nebraska and New Hampshire, says.
Officials at the border encountered more than 172,000 migrants in March, including a record number of unaccompanied children numbering at more than 18,000. Similar numbers are expected for April and could rise in the summer months. …”
America is back now though.
ICE deportations have also dropped to the lowest level on record.
We have a border crisis that exceeds the previous one in Obama’s second term. It is also totally because the Biden administration has been captured by progressive activists who blew up Stephen Miller’s bandaids. They came into office and one of the first things that Joe Biden did was sign an executive order which essentially abolished ICE. It was blocked by a federal judge in Texas.
