This is the same Jake “the Snake” Sullivan who was telling the world today that the U.S. commitment to Israel and Taiwan is “rock solid”. Ha!
Israel has nothing to worry about, they already own the U.S. Government but Taiwan is on borrowed time, and not much of it either.
The U.S. should have made a grand bargain to get out from under the imperial commitments to Taiwan and S. Korea years ago but it’s too late now. Most likely China will invade and conquer Taiwan while the U.S. response is ineffective, at best. At worst those idiots in Washington will be exchanging nukes with Peking.

You’ve been watching Fox News propaganda. The medical system in Australia and other capitalist countries is suffering from budget cuts, privatization, understaffed and strained to the limit, so there is pressure to appear to be doing something with public hygiene reducing the spread. Capitalist Australia wants to appear to be trying to do public hygiene, but cannot do it properly. Hygiene does work in China and a few other socialist countries, and WESTERN AUSTRALIA kept the disease out completely, for a long time, just by closing the border with the rest of Australia and by thoroughly testing and quarantining everyone coming into Western Australia through Perth. But the Delta strain that was created by India’s laissez-faire herd immunity policy allowing the virus to flourish and “gain function” among over a billion people, can hardly be contained by hygiene alone. China recognized that Delta, being much more infectious and durable than the original strain, requires universal vaccination in addition to hygiene, to bring it under control.

Here in Australia, businesses are going under, people have to mask up, can’t leave their immediate area, and can’t leave their house unless for groceries, work or some exercise.

The corporations that received contracts were ones that made the largest donations to the Clinton Foundation, and the contracts given were for designed the benefit of those corporations, not for the needs of the poor people of Haiti. The temporary shelters that were built were so poorly designed that many could not be used, and the thousands of houses and hundreds of schools that are said to have been built were NEVER EVEN BUILT! Where it’s endless war or endless humanitarian aid, it’s all about MONEY.
Nothing will change until the money (USD) goes bad. The U.S. Government implicitly assumes that it can print tons of money everyday backed by nothing to keep the Empire going. History shows that such a strategy must fail in the long term, Weimar Germany being just one example. When the USD loses most of its value it’s lights out for the Empire.
When the money goes bad it goes slowly at first, then all at once. It looks like the U.S. Government is transitioning between the slowly and the ‘all at once’ stage now. The U.S. clusterfuck in Kabul, the obvious dementia of the President, the manifest unfitness of Cackling Kamala and other officers of the Government for public office, the widespread corruption of the ruling class in business, academia, NGOs, religious institutions and government at all levels have destroyed confidence in the U.S.
The U.S. is running on momentum from the past now. Another failure such as Taiwan being captured by the government in Peking and the USD will rapidly lose much of its remaining value. As a practical matter the U.S. Government cannot prevent the government in Peking from taking over Taiwan anyway but it doesn’t mean, in its infinite stupidity that the U.S. Government can’t try to prevent it.
Taiwan is only about 100 miles from mainland China but 7,000 miles from the U.S. west coast. The math is easy on this one, even Dementia Joe, well, maybe not Dementia Joe but certainly Cackling Kamala can figure this one out after consulting the math department at MIT. Taiwan is ultimately Chinese territory anyway, something the Nationalist Government in Taipei admitted until recently.
Good comment, well thought. The Empire of the Almighty Dollar depends on the Dollar being worshipped by the world. The collapse of a bankrupted Empire is opportunity for common people to secure their rights.
