UPDATE: Diplomacy is outside of the Washington foreign policy establishment’s Overton Window.
Progressive Democrats learn you can’t suggest diplomacy in Ukraine. Just can’t. From @playbookdc: https://t.co/0eYO0y1Ekt pic.twitter.com/RMWyexesPL

Joe Biden is deferring to Zelensky. He has vowed to keep supporting Ukraine for “as long as it takes.” Zelensky’s war aims include reconquering all of Donbas and Crimea which Putin has declared to be part of Russia and vowed to use nuclear weapons to defend Russia’s territorial integrity.
“A group of 30 House liberals is urging President Biden to dramatically shift his strategy on the Ukraine war and pursue direct negotiations with Russia, the first time prominent members of his own party have pushed him to change his approach to Ukraine.
The letter, sent to the White House on Monday and obtained by The Washington Post, could create more pressure on Biden as he tries to sustain domestic support for the war effort, at a time when the region is heading into a potentially difficult winter and Republicans are threatening to cut aid to Ukraine if they retake Congress.
In a letter led by Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, the 30 Democrats call on Biden to pair the unprecedented economic and military support the United States is providing Ukraine with a “proactive diplomatic push, redoubling efforts to seek a realistic framework for a ceasefire.” …”
Biden isn’t going to negotiate with Russia.
AOC and other House progressives will also keep voting to rubber stamp unlimited arms packages.
Here is an ACCURATE explanation of the Progressives’ “anti-war” letter: https://niqnaq.wordpress.com/2022/10/25/wsws-214/
“The letter is not an anti-war declaration. Every one of the signers voted for the most recent legislation approving tens of billions more spending on US military aid to Ukraine. The cumulative total of some $60b is the largest amount of American military aid to any single country in half a century, since the Vietnam War. Just hours after the publication of the statement, Congressional Progressive Caucus Chair Pramila Jayapal issued a statement to “clarify” the document, declaring: ‘We are united as Democrats in our unequivocal commitment to supporting Ukraine in their fight for their democracy and freedom in the face of the illegal and outrageous Russian invasion, and nothing in the letter advocates for a change in that support.’ They are not opposed on principle to the US-NATO intervention, but are clearly concerned that the huge US commitment has no popular support at home, and could trigger a nuclear war. An additional concern is that the gargantuan Pentagon budget, swelled by the spending on the Ukraine war, is crowding out whatever remains of domestic social spending, setting the stage for significant cuts in core programs like Social Security and Medicare, especially if the Republican Party wins control of Congress….”
Neither the Progressive Democrats nor the Populist Republicans differ in any way but style from the rest of the Dem and Repub politicians regarding justification of war to destroy Russia, and support for Israel, and capitalism.
Here;s more proof of what your vaunted POPULISTS really are: For example, the first action of the new populist Italian Prine Minister Georgia Melonii is to withdraw a €500 subsidy for Italy’s poorest people – a lifeline for millions. She is also a strong supporter of Israel and fully supports the war against Russia.
Populists and Progressives are capitalists wearing sheep’s clothing, until they are elected. You cannot harm the Class system by voting for Progressives and Populists. .
Wow! Could you imagine being that clueless?
Threats or bribes forthcoming and those sexy time tapes are on reserve.
WWIII is part of the Great Reset Leap Forward and there won’t be any vote on it.
They’ve already issued a, uhm, clarification:

Looking up all the signees is left as an exercise, one I suggest all those who commented about the new UK PM consider undertaking.
Today progressivism is literally obsequious statism.
The sheer audacity and ‘chutzpah’ of “these people” is unbelievable. By every metric they are losing and ARE GOING TO LOSE but to defend their money printing scam they’re basically threatening the lives of EVERY MAN, WOMAN AND CHILD on the planet. The US dollar will not be the global reserve currency 50 years from now. The good times are over. The golden goose is dead. The scam worked for 80 years and brought the perpetrators of this fraud unprecedented power and wealth but it’s over now.
I understand that it’s an existential threat to those who’ve gone too far with the criminality and fraud. The Mossads, The Epsteins of this world just have to go down with the ship. Too much has been invested and too much has been risked. Why should the rest of us have our lives and the lives of our children threatened for the sake of Middle Eastern gangsters, financial fraudsters, extortionists, pedophiles and criminals?
As someone who grew up Progressive, in an era when Progressives were prepared to suffer any ill or hurt to defend the rights of others, I have to say that today’s ‘Progressives’ are not deserving of the title.
Even as recently as George Bush Jr.’s war with Iraq, Progressives were prepared, in their millions, to take to the streets and howl.
That so many of them are with the war party, viciously co-opting Ukrainians to be killed, wounded, or made homeless, in the WEF quest to regime change Vladimir Putin and once more subjugate Russia is extremely sad.
Where is Bernie Sanders on this issue?
Don’t answer – I got it covered – he’s been told to shut up because of the so-called interests of his blood brethren.
That the Republican Party is morphing into the only anti-war voice is bizarre, to say the least.
Ivan, we shall see if the party of lincoln, remains antiwar, when they regain control of the house and possibly senate, or revert back too their typical behavior and resume.catering too their donor class as usual….
