Tucker Carlson: Drop Israel

It has been almost 48 hours.

In light of experience, I have adopted a wait and see approach to Israel’s war with Iran. Israel has attacked Iran several times over the past few months and previous strikes haven’t boiled over into World War III. I have serious doubts about Iran’s ability to defend itself or respond to Israel’s aggression. I also doubt we will see anything resembling an American ground invasion of Iraq, a Libya style aerial bombardment campaign or an “anti-terrorism” intervention and occupation like in Syria.

Bibi Netanyahu went to Washington in April and pleaded with Trump to support and participate in the attack. Trump chose not to do so and sent Steve Witkoff to negotiate with Iran. Regardless of whether or not these negotiations were in bad faith, the fact remains that the United States did not participate in the attack and we are currently not at war with Iran. This is due to the massive political headwinds that confront the Trump administration. There is no public support for going to war with Iran.

The strikes are already polling badly.

CNN:

“A Quinnipiac University poll released this week – ahead of Israel’s strikes – epitomized the shifting landscape.

Polls for decades have asked Americans to choose whether they sympathize more with Israelis or Palestinians, and Israel is almost always the runaway favorite. But this one showed Americans sided with the Israelis by a historically narrow margin: 37% to 32%. …

To wit:

A March poll from the Pew Research Center showed 53% of Americans – a majority – had an unfavorable opinion of Israel. That was up from 42% in 2022, before the current war in Gaza. The same poll showed Americans said by more than a 20-point margin that they lacked confidence in Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

A March poll from Marquette University Law School showed Americans evenly split on Israel: 43% favorable to 43% unfavorable.

And a February Reuters/Ipsos poll showed about 4 in 10 Americans leaned toward the idea that Israel’s problems are “none of our business.” …

The Quinnipiac poll showed the percentage of Republicans who sympathized more with the Israelis than Palestinians dropping from 86% in October 2023 to 64% today. (Almost all of the shift was to a neutral position, rather than to the Palestinians.)

And the Pew poll showed unfavorable views of Israel among Republicans and Republican-leaning independents rising from 27% in 2022 to 37% in March. Most remarkably, right-leaning voters under the age of 50 were about evenly split in their views of Israel …”

Support for Israel *among Republican voters* has dropped by 20 points since October 7th. This reflects the overall trend of declining support for Israel across the political spectrum.

FOX News:

“According to the poll, which was first shared with Fox News on Friday, 45% of those questioned said they would support Israel conducting targeted airstrikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities if diplomatic efforts between the U.S. and Iran fail.

Thirty-seven percent said they opposed Israeli airstrikes, with 18% unsure. …

Six in 10 Republicans said they support the airstrikes, but that backing dropped to 35% among independents and 32% among Democrats.

Twenty-seven percent of Republicans opposed the Israeli airstrikes, with a third of independents and just over half of Democrats opposed. …”

Democrats and Independents are outright hostile to Israel.

Republicans are split. It is Trump’s MAGA base that is opposed to the strikes.

Keep in mind that these polls only reflect attitudes toward Israel and support for Israel striking Iranian nuclear facilities. Going to war with Iran is a separate question and polls far more poorly. Trump isn’t capable of selling that idea *to his own base* much less to the rest of the country.

MAGA is consolidating around the idea that Israel started this war without our support and should own it and we should stay out of it. Tucker Carlson has gone so far to embrace the position that we should drop Israel altogether. Netanyahu’s actions and the GOP Congress clapping like seals is only reinforcing the stereotype that Israel is an albatross that tries to manipulate our government into fighting its wars in the Middle East. This is accelerating the collapse in support for Israel on the Right.

Trump is frozen like a deer in headlights.

He is caught between his own political base, his donors, Netanyahu and the Republican Congress. He can’t sell a war with Iran that even Charlie Kirk isn’t going to support.

The Hill:

“President Trump’s handling of escalating tensions in the Middle East is casting a spotlight on divisions among the president’s supporters about whether the U.S. should have any involvement in a brewing conflict.

Trump has had voices in his ear advocating for differing approaches to Iran as his administration sought to broker an agreement limiting Tehran’s nuclear program.

Figures like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson have argued voters backed Trump because he would not involve the nation in foreign conflicts.

Carlson, in his morning newsletter Friday, said Trump is “complicit” in Israel’s attack on Iran and warned the escalating conflict between the two nations could lead the U.S. into war.

“What happens next will define Donald Trump’s presidency,” Carlson wrote. …”

So, now we wait to see how the chips fall.

An unpredictable chain of events has been unleashed here. It is not as simple as we are “at war with Iran.” Nothing has happened yet except shooting down missiles and drones which happened under Biden. We would have plunged in head first ten years ago, but Israel doesn’t have that kind of pull anymore.

  1. Any reduction in Israel’s power over the US Empire is to be cheered. Of course, an end to the power of both Tel Aviv and DC over us would be the best possible outcome.

  2. The Chinese scholar (born in 1976, he came to Vancouver at age 6, where he grew up, and studied at Yale) says in his last lesson before August, which anticipated the current events, that military conflict is inherently built into the American system, and therefore inevitable and consequential from its perspective. Moreover, Trump is the most learned disciple of the mafia-like Roy Cohn.

  3. Eastern Communists who are the stronger of the two that control the world and formed the Brics want two States there. Russia and China back Iran and the Communists here are shouting Fight Oligarchy!, get rid of income inequality! and wanting to move away from Israel.

  4. In many respects the “New” American Right is more contemptible than its prior form in the Bush era. At least the former was open about its philosemitism. You may have chosen to double down on your ZOG support but the propaganda you are promoting here cannot stand unchallenged.

    >Bibi Netanyahu went to Washington in April and pleaded with Trump to support and participate in the attack. Trump chose not to do so and sent Steve Witkoff to negotiate with Iran. Who is to say that Bibi and Trump did not come to exactly this arrangement in April? The jew Witkoff engaged in bad faith negotiations to create cover for the surprise attack and it worked. That alone *is* participation in the attack, regardless of the other material (apparently 300 some hellfire missiles a few days prior) and intelligence provided. The propaganda is attempting to create the illusion of a separation between the Zionist entities in Palestine and North America but *THERE IS NO ZOG PALESTINE WITHOUT ZOG AMERICA*. You are parroting the propaganda framing of this being “Israel’s war,” when the reality is that this is the continuation of the Judeo-American imperial project that has been the works since before 9-11 and now that Syria finally fell (something Trump was also complicit in!) they are moving against Iran. Only American right wingers are pathetic and servile enough to fall for this propaganda. Absolutely disgusting.

    • 1.) It is a good thing we are not “at war with Iran.”

2.) It is a great thing that virtually all MAGA influencers – Kirk, Posobiec, Benny Johnson, Tucker, Candace, Bannon – are loudly against getting involved in this war.

3.) If it were not for Trump’s base being so loudly against it, we would have attacked Iran with Israel.

And yes, there is a huge difference between Israel being at war with Iran and U.S. military assets being involved in the conflict and American troops “dying for Israel.” Letting Israel down to fight its own wars is a welcome change. Hopefully, it topples the Netanyahu government

  5. That deer in the headlights is one false flag attack away from a ground war in Iran. Psst, it wasn’t the towel heads who did 911 and Trumpy bear knows it. It sucks to be you Donald.

  6. The most phenomenal revelation is that Iran is not nearly the threat Israel has portrayed it to be. Tehran is getting its face kicked in and can’t hit Israel harder than Hezbollah used to. Israel is seemingly untouchable and it has gotten to the point it can just kill anybody it likes. I don’t like it, we don’t like it, but that’s what it is. They have crushed Assad, Nasrallah, Hamas, Saddam, Qaddafi, and we’ll likely hear that the Ayatollah has been killed soon. The only silverlining in this is that everyone hates the jews now, but what does that matter if they can do whatever they want regardless?

  7. Good for Tucker Carlson. He has a very forthright, honest, patriotic point of view.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Charlie Kirk, Steve Bannon and many others on the “right”.

We are, unfortunately, already in a low-level war with Iran, a war which is contrary to American national interests. Our sanctions are an act of economic warfare, our military foreign aid to Israel is an act of proxy warfare, and intercepting Iranian drones and missiles headed towards Israel is a direct act of air warfare against Iran which emboldens Israel to strike Iran, because they know that America will protect them from the consequences of their actions.

Yes, Biden did the same, but that is part of the reason why many of us voted against Genocide Joe’s chosen successor. We voted for the “peace candidate” endorsed by Tucker Carlson, Tulsi Gabbard and the mayor of Dearborn Heights Michigan. We voted against the candidate endorsed by Liz Cheney.

We should all be doing our part to enlighten our White American Evangelical Christian brothers. Otherwise, they will become the scapegoats for the crimes of the Jews.

“White Nationalists” who knew better but failed to use their platforms to warn our people will deserve contempt.

    • Sanctions on Iran, shooting down missiles and drones over Israel, foreign aid to Israel, giving Israel weapons, cucking for Israel at the U.N. … none of this is anything new and has been going on for years. I’m waiting to see if anything changes. I’m inclined to believe it will by the end of next week.

  8. If I give ZOG any advice? Take out the Persian Navy,

    Only reason?

    Gas Prices going to high!

    The last Advice To ZOG!

    Ever!

  9. Serious question: why do you think polling even matters? If the donors paid for something (Adelson) then they will get what they paid for. We saw firsthand Democrats sink any chance of reelection by not restraining Israel one bit during the election cycle. Kamala hardly said anything against Israel when her base was absolutely screaming at her at how unpopular supporting Israel is.

So why would it matter to Republicans either?

  10. You also have to ask yourself another question: How
does this America actually come to want to dominate
and direct us, its ancestors who are thousands of years
older? What do these people even “know” about them-
selves? Why can’t they let the free forces of Europe pre-
vail – but have to destroy its natural laws? It’s all sick!
Because their core is sick, they don’t have actually one!

  11. America has it’s own war to wage….. against rioters waving Mexican flags. Deploy the troops there. Fvk Israel. Trump also needs to focus on restructuring trade with China and reshoring America’s manufacturing sector.
He can’t be wasting time with this Israeli nonsense.
    Priorities…

  12. Israel has asked the US to help.
I’m just wondering if Israel will send their military to help the US with the riots, or deportations.
“I want, I want, I want”…….but they never give a damn thing back.

  13. This scumbag is lying to us—-

The U.S. had nothing to do with the attack on Iran, tonight. If we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the U.S. Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before. However, we can easily get a deal done between Iran and Israel, and end this bloody conflict!!!

  14. Trump is trying to start a civil war in Iran with his air war. The plan includes having the Israhelli controlled Azeri military invade Iran, to start off the festivities.

This is a regime change operation. Your guy is a worse warmonger than W Bush.

    • George W. Bush invaded Iraq and sparked a twenty year quagmire and occupation which spawned ISIS and spread a cancer across the entire region. We haven’t even done missile strikes in Iran. Get a grip.

  15. Your guy has now ordered ICE to stop the raids. Even the pretense is now gone. He has gotten some arrested and given them free room and board before they will just be released, with a court date of 2065. As for deportations, he is the lowest of the low. Obama had four times the deportations than your president has at this point.

    • There is nothing new about Big Ag and the hotel and restaurant industry being addicted to cheap labor and lobbying the government. Setbacks aren’t permanent defeats. We should lobby the Trump administration to reverse course on this. I see an effort is already underway on this on X.

  16. I’m a boomer and have been listening to the same old bullshit about Iran “almost having operable nukes” since Bush I. Man, when does a thirty plus year lie get old?
