Tucker Carlson Interviews Ted Cruz

As we wait on the edges of our seats for Donald Trump to make his final decision on plunging into Israel’s war with Iran, it is getting uglier by the minute on social media.

Obviously, I have a lot to say about this issue and where we go from here, but that is on hold due to Trump’s foot dragging. I assumed the bombs would start dropping within 48 hours on Wednesday. Trump announced some kind of “two week” delay yesterday, but I don’t put much stock in that.

If we make it through the weekend without jumping into this, I will be surprised.

  1. Ted Cruz is a blathering idiot. I could go into a Reformed exegesis of why the state of Israel is *not* comprehended in the spiritual blessing given to Abraham, or talk about Romans 11 and Galatians 3, but the evangelicals who need to understand that probably are not reading the comments section here at OD anyway.

    • @Joe Putnam,

“I could go into a Reformed exegesis of why the state of Israel is *not* comprehended in the spiritual blessing given to Abraham, or talk about Romans 11 and Galatians 3,….”

Joe, you are spot on. I knew plenty of Christian staffers in DC who knew this too. Nonetheless, they gave time and listened to people who would call in and lobby over Bless Israel stuff. Its amazing that a Texas Senator feels he actually can get voted by running on it publicly.

“…but the evangelicals who need to understand that probably are not reading the comments section here at OD anyway.”

Probably also true. Which is why we need to reach out to them and get them reading at OD. Irs not just discussing with them misapplied theology on politics regarding Israel either. Plenty of evangelicals buy into the race neutral, color blind, all races are the same mantra because some misunderstood Bible quote.

This is Hunter’s objective. He is seeking to join the mainstreaming of our broad rightwing nationalist views into the body politic. Stopping misapplied theology is key to breaking the liberal and woke mind virus thats holds much of America in thrall. Getring evangelicals into reading things like OD will help.

I also dont believe that holding these theologically erroneous beliefs is necessary either for Israeli security or non-White interests. So, I am not worried jettisoning them will necessarilly result in death of Israel and re-enslavement of Black people..

  2. @Hunter Wallace,

“I assumed the bombs would start dropping within 48 hours on Wednesday. Trump announced some kind of “two week” delay yesterday, but I don’t put much stock in that.

If we make it through the weekend without jumping into this, I will be surprised.”

The breathless pearl clutching and shrieks of imminent political Armageddon by “influencers” in the MAGA coalition, especially the Dissident Rightists, was more than amusing. Really, it was a bit much Hunter. Acting as if Trump was already giving orders to bomb, the troops were landing, the I.E.D.’s were going off, the troops were coming home, our war a defeat, all in a flash period of a few minutes in your mind.

Slow down. Take a look at the geopolitical station. Take a look at the domestic situation. Reason the likely choices Trump can take. Then consider what has already occurred. The only conclusion you can reasonably come up with is Trump doesn’t want to invade Iran with any number of troops. Its clear, we cant involve ourselves in a major land invasion of Iran. We could do it but at the cost of other more pressing problems, such as the border, the cartels, Taiwan, and securing the domestic front. Th3 geopolitical situation leaves few options for Trump dealing with the Iranians.

So, Trump offered the Iranians a diplomatic solution. They laughed at him. In reply, Isreal with US assistance began busily militarily dismantling the strategic assets of the Iranian regime. The Iranian proxies have abandoned Iran. Russia has abandoned Iran. The Middle East has abandoned Iran. There is little reason at this point to invade Iran. At most, Trump may order the final aerial bombardment to take out what remains of the regime.

Therefore, Trump is again offering the Iranians a way out. If they say no, Trump could use a few strategic air strikes to finish off the regimes hardened strategic assets, and eliminate the last of its rulers. There is nothing left to do but let the survivors either negotiate or conduct some coup de etat. In the end, Trump isn’t going to invade Iran.

The end result of this epic girly meltdown of the Dissident Right was to just keep it marginalized. Threatening the break up of MAGA was a bit over the top. There was signifaling Trump was going to do that. It just made the DR’S look childish. Similarly, the political capital lost by rightwing infliencers is significant. Overall, being an Anti-War fanatic on behalf of America’s enemies has been a losing game plane of the Dissident Right since Oswald Mosely. They played it superbly again this time. Lame.

That being said, the interview by Tucker shows the vaccuity of much of the conservative right even on foreign policy. Not knowing the population of Iran or even trying to guess it was a fatal blow to Sen Cruz foreign policy credentials. Tucker by contrast showed an understanding, not nessarily an expertise, that was still greater than the Senator’s. Cruz attempt at wielding the wand and spell of the blessing of Israel at its absolute failure to effect Tucker was epic. Tucker gamely proved his sophistication in defending non-interventiionism.

What this all means is that the old coalitions and factions are coming apart and being reorganized. Trump has so far pulled off one of the greatest foreign policy coups since WWII. He has neutralized the Iranian threat without dirtying America’s hands while the Israelis have shown the Muzzies its best not to screw with them anymore, while other Muzzies are coming to the alliance table as partners. The Middle East looks to be about successfully secured. Meawhile, the MAGA non-interventionist influencers have lost some political capital with the Administration. Overall conclusion, speak softly, dont pearl clutch, and continue forward toward meeting up in the middle with the broader Rightwing Nationalist movement domestically and internationally.

  3. This could have been prevented if all the people who are pressuring Trump now had started pressuring him a lot earlier – preferably before the election, best of all before Miriam Adelson gave him $100 million.

After the election, there was still time to pressure Trump to change the direction of his foreign policy. If he had seen a massive grassroots pushback when he allowed Netanyahu to break the Gaza ceasefire, or when he waged a war against the Houthis at the behest of Israel for the benefit of Israel, or when he humiliated himself and the entire American nation by showering Al-Qaeda leader Al-Jolani with flattery, he might have been shocked into changing course.

Now we are apparently on the brink of another unnecessary counterproductive regime change war. Our only allies are Al-Qaeda terrorists and genocidal Israelis.

It didn’t have to be this way.

It wouldn’t have been this way if all the people who are finally pushing back had been doing so all along.
