New York Times: Why Trump Attacked Iran

I don’t watch FOX News.

I couldn’t tell you what goes on there because I only watched Tucker Carlson’s show. We cancelled our subscription when he was fired in April 2023. We used to turn the television off when Hannity came on at 8 PM. I haven’t watched a single episode of Jesse Watters Primetime.

The Right is composed of various niche audiences and the online Right more or less ignores the BoomerCon Right that reads and watches the Murdoch Press. Unfortunately, the president is a FOX Geezer and Trump’s disastrous decision to attack Iran appears to have been motivated by how he thought it would “play” on FOX News to the senior citizens who are still watching that garbage.

Sean Hannity, Brian Kilmeade and Jesse Watters fanning his balls on there goaded him into doing this. Undoubtedly, the $100 million from Miriam Adelson played a role as well.

New York Times:

“Standing at the lectern in the White House briefing room on Thursday afternoon, Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, read a message she said came “directly from the president.”

Because of the “substantial chance of negotiations” with Iran that could bring the United States back from the brink of jumping into the war in the Middle East, President Trump’s statement said, he would make a decision about whether or not to strike Iran “within the next two weeks.”

Mr. Trump had been under pressure from the noninterventionist wing of his party to stay out of the conflict, and was having lunch that day with one of the most outspoken opponents of a bombing campaign, Stephen K. Bannon, fueling speculation that he might hold off. …

The president was closely monitoring Fox News, which was airing wall-to-wall praise of Israel’s military operation and featuring guests urging Mr. Trump to get more involved. Several Trump advisers lamented the fact that Mr. Carlson was no longer on Fox, which meant that Mr. Trump was not hearing much of the other side of the debate. …”

This explains a number of things:

  • It explains why Trump made Pete Hegseth the Secretary of Defense
  • It explains why Trump made Dan Bongino the deputy FBI director
  • It explains his curious dismissal of Tucker Carlson for not being on television
  • It explains why all of his online Right influencers – Tucker, Bannon, Charlie Kirk, Jack Posobiec, Alex Jones, etc. – were aghast at his decision to do this and tried to talk him out of it
  • It explains why he is endorsing “MIGA” on Truth Social

Virtually no one is pushing for this except FOX News, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Post. The early polls reflect the fact only the BoomerCon Republican base supports the strikes. Trump has no idea how poorly this has landed with the online Right because he doesn’t use the internet.

Note: FOX News is airing wall to wall BoomerCon warmongering triumphalism.

  1. Levin is repeating the same BS message first promoted by David Frum over 20 years ago. With his plan to ‘primary’ Massie while supporting and endorsing the disgusting Sodomite Lady G, Trump now basically requires all Repukes to sign a loyalty oath to a foreign power (Israel). Don’t be surprised in the least if the Dems walk away with the midterms – which means his presidency will be over, the lamest of lame ducks. There was some hope that he’d at least make immigration enforcement a priority which will likely all go out the window as all of the Adelson types are in favor of open borders / great replacement so they can profit from cheap labor.

  2. Yep

    I m the same .

Only my life is like Charleron Heston in the Omega Man ( great movie)

At night my streets do Black HBU spring break , with a new Hate ha White people 4 day weekend Juneteenth .

  3. Sounds like a self solving problem. The average boomer is 70 years old. Turns out we elected a boomer zionist. Which everyone was aware of.

He was always gonna have to pay off this faction of his base. It was just a question of how much it would cost. Thats a political calculation he is going to be forced to make.

    • This was my reasoning.

I hated the MIGA Zionist cheerleading, but I saw it as a self correcting problem: generational change is accelerating, the television audience is shrinking, the online Right is becoming more influential as time moves on, Trump had Elon’s vast fortune and didn’t need the Zionist money, he proved in the primary he didn’t need FOX News

      • Your basic lines of thought were correct, but you got cocky and certain of victory a bit too early. The enemy is still in the field and has not yet exhausted its forces. But please do not now over-correct your course by slipping back into blackpilling.

      • None of that has changed. Nobody is gonna start watching Fox news over the iran thing. Their rating are always going down overall. Every day more and more people are becoming noticers.

This is a generational shift, so its gonna take a generation. My interest right now is more on JD Vance. He and I have a similar background. He has been solid, level headed and outspoken about everything thats important. He is the future that could replace Trump in just a couple years.

  4. The Constitution was set aside in 1868 when the central Government was made the determiner of the limits of it’s own power with the 14th “Amendment”. This Empire is nearing it’s end, going until it craters like they all do. We’re under a form of Communism, which the Communist Jew that controls us is trying to shift to the older type. If Jews are protected you’re in Communism.
