Washington Post: Netanyahu Decided On Iran War Last Year, Then Sought To Recruit Trump

John Mearsheimer is right.

The “12 Day War” is over for now because Israel needed to be resupplied with missile interceptors. The ones we have already spent defending Israel from Iranian missiles cost half a billion dollars. Israel passed a law during the conflict which criminalized posting war damage to social media. The current peacefire is like the one in Gaza where Israel resumed the war after Trump transferred weapons to Netanyahu.

Washington Post:

“JERUSALEM — In the fall, long before President Donald Trump embarked on an effort to resolve concerns over Iran’s nuclear program through negotiations, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had already set Israel on the road to war, according to current and former Israeli officials.

After Israel decimated Iran’s air defenses in a missile skirmish and crippled its main ally, Hezbollah, in October, Netanyahu issued a general order to prepare for a strike, the current and former officials said. Israeli intelligence officials began huddling to compile lists of dozens of Iranian nuclear scientists and military leaders who could be targeted for assassination. Israel’s air force began to systematically take out air defenses in Lebanon, Syria and Iraq to clear the skies for future bombing runs against Iran.

Meanwhile, Israeli officials were pursuing another track in their preparations — to sway Washington. Israeli officials have long believed that military action with U.S. participation to target the Iranian nuclear program would be more effective than Israel going alone. On Saturday, Trump indeed joined the conflict, ordering U.S. forces, including B-2 strategic bombers, to strike three Iranian nuclear sites …

In private conversations, however, senior Israeli government officials said they had already decided by March, weeks before Netanyahu met Trump in the Oval Office on April 7, to strike Iran with or without U.S. participation by June at the latest, said two people with knowledge of the matter. The reasoning was that Iran would have rebuilt its air defenses by the latter half of the year, one of the people said …”

So, let us review where things stand today:

  • The president of the United States has used the U.S. military to attack a foreign country on behalf of Israel. This is also the second time it has happened. The first time was when Trump assassinated General Soleimani for Israel in his first term
  • Bibi Netanyahu has been shopping this war to American presidents since at least the Obama administration. He made the decision to go to war last year with or without Trump
  • Bibi Netanyahu correctly calculated that he could maneuver Trump into the war
  • The negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program were nothing more than a ruse by the Trump administration to lull Iran into a false sense of complacency and a psyop against Trump’s own supporters who wanted to believe he was serious about engaging in diplomacy
  • The strike on Iran was sold to the public based on an avalanche of lies about an impending second Holocaust, hysteria about Iranian sleeper cells, a “mushroom cloud” over New York City, etc.
  • The Ayatollah is claiming that Iran’s nuclear facilities are intact
  • The war has been paused for now because Iranian strikes depleted Israel’s air defenses

Just wonderful.

We have learned from this experience that in the span of a week we can get dragged into a war with Iran by Israel based on the same lies that FOX News used to get us into the Iraq War. Israel could also resume this war at anytime it chooses and Bibi Netanyahu has been boosted and empowered by it. Israel has learned that it pays to always escalate conflicts with its enemies and the MAGA base has been conditioned to shout down anyone who is skeptical of Trump’s foreign policy decisions as a “Panican.”

  1. We also learned that most MAGA people are actually MIGA people who will easily be sold the same lies as in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

  2. All excellent points, sir. So here’s a question. Why is Adelson’s smaller donation more valuable than Musk’s larger one? Note that Musk is now largely out of the picture, while Satanyahoo and his crew loom large. One of Musk’s parting shots concerned the Epstein compromat on Trump which we can practically guarantee in in Satanyahoo’s hands. The more interesting thing to emerge about the latest Kabuki show is that the Ayatollah might have a copy of the files on Trump also. This is the most logical explanation of the schizoid behavior of channeling Juan McStain and Lady G one minute (bomb, bomb Iran) and the Mocha Messiah (let’s sit down and schat with my homeboy the Ayatollah) the next. Too bad nobody on our side has a copy of the compromat on Trump and the rest of the slimepit in Sodom-on-Potomac.

  3. If Russia and China don’t pay the US back for arming Ukraine and Taiwan, by arming Iran, then they are cowards. Iran hasn’t been a good ally, because the clerics really are cowards, but it is in Moscow & Beijing’s interest to retake the skies over Tehran at the very least. You would think after losing Assad they would fall over themselves to prevent more dominos tipping. But Putin & Xi must be content to see themselves surrounded by Judeo-Western proxy regimes until even Belarus and North Korea are flipped against them. We have world leaders on the BRICS-SCO team
who would lose HOI4 to a teenager.

  4. Meanwhile, we have a 30-40 trillion debt. We should be focusing on our country and our people. They only thing we need to do with Iran is not let any Iranians in, and hunt and deport all Iranian illegals.

Focus on the economy and demographics. Go for real, fundamental change – not talking points. Abandon Ayn Rand-style “laissez faire” just as we abandoned Karl Marx at the outset of the cold war. (Before that being a member of the American Communist Party was perfectly OK.)

If we treat Israel the same way as we treat other “allies” such as India and Taiwan (who would also love us to fight for them), then there would be zero anti-American feeling in the Middle East. They hate us not because, as George Bush said “They hate freedom”, but because we allow us to be used by the Zionist entity in inflicting suffering on them – again and again and again. They might also “hate freedom”, but that is their business and not ours.

  5. I don’t support the strikes at all. Iran has been a week away from a nuclear weapon for 25 years according to Netanyahu but I still support Trump. We on the right stick to our principles and sit out elections if we don’t get 100% of what we want. Meanwhile the Leftists don’t care what their politicians do as long as they get their handouts so we lose elections we should have won. Deporting Biden’s barbarian hoard is too important to turn my back on Trump. It’s crucial to rid ourselves of these scum before they breed anchor babies and ruin America forever.
Trump is the only president who has tried to stop illegal immigration in the past 60 years. We have to let him do that and support him in this fight to the death of our culture and even the long term survival of our people. Don’t let them bury us in a mud slide. If we are overwhelmed with New Democrat voters we will never have a chance to fight another day.

  6. And while Imperial DC spends billions on arms for Israel and arms for Ukraine in addition to the money needed to run the Ukrainian government, there are our own people still living in tents in North Carolina due to the impact of the September 2024 hurricane.
