I have just been transfixed by the news cycle on X since the death of Iryna Zarutska went viral and which was followed by the even more viral assassination of Charlie Kirk on Wednesday. It is hardly the first time that I have been unable to focus and write about a major breaking news story.
My mother-in-law was also down here visiting us and the kids last week. The fact that Charlie Kirk was gruesomely murdered in front of his wife and children and the world for debating liberal college students was deeply unsettling. I watched his grieving widow Erika address the nation and explain that she told their daughter that “daddy was on a work trip with Jesus.” It left me wondering whether engaging with these insane people on the internet and risking becoming a target of a lunatic was worth it. Is owning the libs worth never getting to see your children grow up or your grandchildren?
I felt like I needed to “touch grass.” I wanted to spend more time with my family and less on politics. I certainly wasn’t in any rush to chime in and state what should be obvious to everyone.
Charlie Kirk was the most mainstream conservative in America and he was murdered for being a “fascist.” The ghouls who celebrated his death and who took pleasure in destroying his family consider all of us “fascists.” The lunatic who did this will doubtlessly inspire other copycat killers. Virtually everyone who reads and comments on this website is much further to the Right of Charlie Kirk.
It is amazing that something like this didn’t happen years ago. It got me thinking what Auburn or Pikeville or Charlottesville or Gainesville had been like in 2017 if Antifa had brought guns to those Alt-Right events and had attempted to shoot and kill one of the speakers. In those days, these people were content to “punch Nazis” which was transgressive at the time, but eight years later and in the wake of Luigi what we are seeing is that assassination culture has been layered on top on Wokeism. They still believe that “speech is violence,” but now believe that justifies them taking a shot from 150 yards away.
In Utah, I think one era ended and another began with Charlie Kirk’s assassination. These people have turned to violence. The age of triggering and owning the libs is over. Debates are over. I’m not sure when exactly it began, but this cultural moment peaked in 2016/2017 and it has ended in 2025. Force will now be used to crush the Left in a government crackdown like in the late 1960s and 1970s.

I waited your on opinion on this issue, finally you’re back. I wast most impressed by the joyful reaction of the entire global left (including in my country. I know that those on the left hate us and that they have more hatred than we do, but I never imagined anything like this. Even “intellectuals” km my country said he deserve it. On the contrary simgers like Coldplay and actors like Chris Pratt sent prayers for Kirk. What impressed me was not Kirk’s physical death but his human death. The process of dehumanization put in place by the left. However these levels had already been reached with the death of Aaron Jay Danielson, who was killed in 2020 by an antifa. I think he was dealing with backlash from his Jewish donors, but I also think this had nothing to do with that and was just the latest trantifa domestic terrorism.
What has surprised me the most about this is the genuine and unqualified declarations of people like Sam Hyde, Nick Fuentes, yourself and others whom Charlie Kirk has spent his self made career gate keeping out of the mainstream. So many of us have bitterly resented that of Charlie in the past. Something happened this summer though when he began to move towards us, let guys like Tucker speak openly about Israeli influence. I have immense respect for Charlie now. That was bravery, and an example of integrity, a demonstration of his good faith to his stated goal for American interests first.

When I watched Sam Hydes video yesterday, and Nicks tribute to Charlie I didn’t see what I thought I was going to see. I haven’t seen any calls for radicalization, from anybody at any point of the right. I saw massive deradicalization. These guys who have been in the wilderness came forward into the light and endorsed the legal crackdown of the rightful government against our common enemies. That is bigger than anything else thats happened. The rightwing just became truly mainstream….
Now is the time for unity on the right, resolve to our common purpose, and unrelenting speech to drive home the message of a dominant nationalist vision for the future of the republic. This opportunity isn’t open ended, and it will pass. Sam Hyde was right, the next few weeks will decide if we are resolved to fight, or if political assassination becomes the new normal. Our voices must be heard, and the people who speak for us MUST speak clearly and loudly NOW.
This isn’t the time to indulge cranks. Its time for them to be silent, or get in line. Our priorities have never been set in sharper relief than right now. Our greatest challenges are here at home. As to your contention in your the last sentence of this post, that Trump will use the power of the FedGov to crush the violent left such as antifa, I remain hopeful but skeptical. This morning I saw that his AG Pam Bondi has came out declaring: “There’s free speech and then there’s hate speech” and that the government was going to go after hate speech. It looks like Trump’s team are potentially gearing up to go after *peaceful* speech that they deem hate, maybe even “racist” blogs and campus protests against the Israeli genocide of the Gazans, not after groups like antifa that are both violent and threatening violence. Maybe Bondi just spoke very poorly, and maybe she meant “threats of violence” when she said “hate speech”, but I doubt it.

I never paid too much attention to him, but I agree this left a very bad feeling in people who still have a soul. I feel bad for his wife and kids.
