Black Belt Liberation Day is coming.
Gutting the Voting Rights Act, nuking the filibuster and packing the courts is the political solution. It will end the gridlock and create the path toward major legislation passing Congress.
Won’t it simply result in an increased number of white liberal congress members drawing on black voter support replacing the black caucus ?
No, it will net at least 12 solid Republican pickups
That’s positive but how much of a margin of safety will there be in the medium term in the light of long term demographic change ? Will it turn out to be thin ice ?
The South is whiter than it used be around 1900 when black political power was eliminated in the region by Jim Crow laws.
