China is watching, counting the number of Tomahawk, THAAD, Patriot, SM-3 and SM-6 missiles being expended in this latest foolish war. Even with its +1 Trillion USD Pentagon budget and ‘The Greatest Economy Evah’, the gravely weakened industrial base of the U.S., depleted by 45 years of Wall Street looting, cannot possibly replace the missiles fired in anything like a timely manner. It certainly doesn’t help that the “Defense” companies, after suitable payoffs to top brass in the Pentagon and the loathsome scumbags in Congress also loot the Pentagon budget through weapons procurement like Somalis at the Learing Center on crack, instead of producing cost effective weapons.
The U.S. position in the Pacific was already weak vis-à-vis China, particularly (though not exclusively) regarding Taiwan before this latest clusterfuck in the Near East. Now the U.S. Government’s position is even more perilous and getting worse as the latest war drags on, depleting weapons inventories further. Trump is gambling with other people’s lives that China is either unwilling or unable to seize Taiwan while the U.S. is all bollixed up elsewhere.
But wait, there’s more! China also controls the manufacturing of countless finished and intermediate goods that are imported daily to keep the U.S. economy (such as it is) functioning including Defense Dept. procurement. The U.S. economy would grind to a halt without Chinese imports including producing new weapons. All of this because of Trump’s and the ruling class’s devotion to Our Greatest Ally and its Epstein type bribery and blackmail schemes The Usual Suspects have been running for decades. If Trump believes he can successfully implement conscription in response to military disaster he will find out how unpopular he really is.
Xi apparently regards a war to re-unify Taiwan with China as a failure. He wants it to happen without a shot being fired. All he has to do is blockade it now that Trump has gone full retard on Iran – tying up a huge portion of military assets to die for Israel.
This and this is what those in the US military are fighting and dying for – whether they know it or not.
