10. It is surprising that the Germanic name for Ostern/Easter has survived only in German and English. Even the Dutch and Scandinavians have renamed it after the Jewish “Passover.”

    The names of months used to be different as well. To this day, days of the week are named after pagan deities (with exception of the English “Saturday” from the Roman Saturn).
