It was the day before Donald Trump came down the escalator at Trump Tower and announced he was running for president. It is inarguable that prices were lower for virtually everything in America. The average national price of gasoline was $2.89 a gallon. Obama was negotiating the Iran nuclear deal. The national debt was approximately $18.5 trillion. It is currently racing toward $40 trillion.

Conservative pundits and politicians spent the whole day yesterday raging online against Millennials and Zoomers complaining about the price of burritos. The price of a Chipotle burrito bowl has doubled in the Golden Age from what it was when Obama was president. Portion sizes have shrunk. You get less food for more money at Chipotle in 2026. Fitness influencers complain about it all the time.

The average White family does it all – cooks at home, grills food, eats out at restaurants, eats fast food – and has experienced prices going up across the board. People who shop at Sam’s Club and Costco have seen prices go up. Most people buy the same things at the grocery store every week and aren’t imagining that prices are soaring. Sure, it is less expensive to eat at home than to eat out at restaurants, but that has always been true. It is more expensive to feed your family now period in the Golden Age. Whether you are grilling a steak at home or eating one at a restaurant, it still costs you are far more now.

Look how far we have come since the 2024 election. Conservatives blame Uber Eats and DoorDash for $20 burritos. They are sharing tips on eating Ramen noodles and stretching ground beef with refried beans. The same people who used to bash progressives with “you will eat the bugs” memes are basically pulling out granddaddy’s old cornpone and fatback recipes from the Great Depression.

Scott Greer assures us in Whitepill that conservatives have changed. I need to read the book. I’m not seeing it. If anything is true, we seem to be reverting to the conservatism that I remember.

  1. My wife and I(Gen X with 3 teen sons) were just discussing the other day how we were able to live through a relative “Golden Age” of affordability vs income. It’s shocking how bad Gen Z has got it as far as what they are have to spend as far as education, housing, food, insurance, etc with wages that haven’t changed that much since the 90s. The Republican Party isn’t resonating with people under 30 as the Rs just crank out the same old Boomer “Pull Yourself Up By Your Bootstraps/Eat a Dirt Sandwich” BS like out of Eyepatch McCain. Of course the Democrats really aren’t addressing it either as they are getting insanely rich off of the current system.

    • People believe prices are going up when really it’s the dollar that’s going down. Thus has it been since the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 and will continue until the dollar reaches its intrinsic value, zero. The Stable Genius did not cause this but he has accelerated this destructive process. Now he has his dick in a wringer called Iran, making everything worse, and he doesn’t know how to get it out.

      • + what 12AX7 says. Back in the early 80’s, my mom complained that it took $30 to fill the shopping cart while in the late 50’s, it only took $10. And now, $100 doesn’t fill the shopping cart. When it got worse is the 70’s when wages stagnated and no longer kept up with inflation. Our ruling elite, when things got tight because of military and social program spending, decided to throw middle class Americans under the bus. Step 1 was August 15th, 1971 when Nixon took us off the gold standard. That allowed the dollar printing presses to run 24/7. And the people to benefit by inflated currency are the first people to get it – our ruling elite. So, it’s come full circle. Add to that deregulation and lack of enforcement, started by Reagan and continued by the uniparty, and our ruling elite are more than happy with the current situation even though it’s gotten worse for everyone else.

      • This is exactly so. Charles A. Lindbergh (the father of the famous pilot) wrote this about the Federal Reserve Act. For writing this in a book, his book was banned by Woodrow Wilson and the plates were literally destroyed:

        “This Act establishes the most gigantic trust on Earth. When the President signs this bill, the invisible government by the Monetary Power will be legalized, the people may not know it immediately, but the day of reckoning is only a few years removed … The worst legislative crime of the ages is perpetrated by this banking bill.”

        Benjamin Strong was put in as lipstick on the Kosher Hog that was to gobble up everything. The 1920s were the first big “pump and dump” swindle by the usual suspects. By 1929 some more astute folks were starting to note that when shoe-shine boys are giving out stock tips it might be time to bail.

  5. What’s happening is well beyond the ability of Donald Trump (or anyone else) to control. For decades running the Epstein Empire was able to shove off much of the inflationary result of Keynesian “economics” (fictional-reserve usury-rackets plus uncontrolled spending) onto other parts of the world. That’s starting to crumble so all of a sudden the idiocracy in the homeland is starting to see the effects locally. How many decades have all sorts of decent folks warned about all this crap?? I’ve lost count. Sinners can repent, but stupid is forever.

    It’s the same in Canada, Britain, Australia, the EU and all over the world.
    The cost of living rises far faster than wages, if wages rise at all.
    It’s because of our fiat, corporatist, oligarchic, imperialist worldwide system.
    All this liberal-conservative BS is rearranging furniture on a sinking ship.

    One day civilization as we’ve known it for the last two or three centuries will likely collapse, but no one knows when, it could go on for decades more, and it’ll be up to those generations living then to pick up the pieces, if there are any pieces worth salvaging that is.
    The hypercompetitive elite know all this, but they don’t care, they can’t help themselves, it’s in their nature to run Ponzi schemes.
    Civilization itself has become one big Ponzi scheme, it kind of always was, but especially now.

    In the meantime, we will continue playing these games, liberal-conservative, republican-democrat, Ukraine, Palestine, Iran and Taiwan, while the elite prepare for the coming economic, societal and ecological collapse by building underground cities, rockets to mars and whatever else they’re planning we know or don’t know about.

  7. But this is what you wanted. Cheap prices were predicated upon the American global dominance backed by its military. You were given a choice: Support American global power and reinforce it with a military buildup in the face of growing massive threats or retreat to neo isolationism and watch food prices and quality of life explode.

    The cheap prices of the earlier eraneas subsidized by American power. You hated American power and wanted to grill. You can still grill it just will be extremely expensive. Once you and the Sand N@gger Jihadis cement the new weak America by forcing the US from the Middle East thereby allowing the Iranians to annex the Hormuz, watch the Petrodollar start a freedall.       • A global oriented economy is already a fragile economy that is for certain. It is also certain that corporate capital was behind the creation of this system. But, that was done decades ago. So how are they the cause of a conscious effort to outsource food production by our elected representatives? This is a long term general policy failure not some short term corporate capital greed campaign gone away.

        The fact is for the intervene decades, Corporate conglomerates subsidized American food consumption by offsetting low profits in the US with higher prices to other areas. It’s also true that Government spending during the Obama years following the 2008 crash eroded the dollar, further increasing food costs.

        It should be remembered that this erosion via deindustrialization and financial station of the economy has been going on for decades as well. But, again, the Conglomerates complied by further suppressing profits in the US

        However such a system serving the American consumer requires American military power to enforce the mechanics such as the Petrodollar. This is how the conglomerates could manage markets across the globe thereby ensureing profits form other areas and above all by keeping feetizer and other inputs at lower than market costs.

        That system fell apart as more and more third world powers demanded more and more from conglomerates to stop food costs rising in their markets and agricultural input costs into their markets. COVID literally broke this system.

        That system has been een crippled since and the conglomerates could no longer just keep pressing down to keep food costs from rising in the US and shifting the losses elsewhere by increasong prices there. The wars launched by Putin and the Sand N@ggers have irrevocably destroyed the capacity to keep food prices down artificially in this globalist trade system. The debt levels and erosion of the dollar and Petro dollar also reduced dollar purchasing levels.

        So here we are and it’s hard to say this is some sort of corporate capital conspiracy to jack up profits unreasonably. It’s simply a systemic failing of corporate conglomerate dominated globalism after having various setbacks from financial collapses, third worldist and Sino-Russian spoiling sttageties, and wars launched by those SOBs. Corporate Capital and the US government actually did it’s hardest to subsidize American quality of life food consumption. It can’t do it anymore. Hunter’s neo isolationist polocies will only superchaece this collapse. We will all starve because of his hatred for Israel, love for Sand N@ggers, and US military global projection. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

    • You can make lots of meals for $2 and under. Just use the wrappers and packaging that the store bought food comes in as well as any junk mail you get to stretch out the meals. For fiber add sawdust if you do any carpentry but stay away from the pressure treated lumber, that’s not good for you.

    • Not that they ever will, but if the Wickard v. Filburn decision (from 1942) were overthrown, one could actually grow food to feed yourself and family without government permission. It was a unanimous decision that created this government power out of thin air (the same way the “Federal” reserve created money). Proving yet again – even back to WW II – that there is only one actual party calling the shots. That decision alone fully justifies the complete overthrow of the lawless foreign occupation regime in Sodom-on-Potomac. May it’s destruction come swiftly and with no warning.

      • Today, the regulatory landscape has changed, and no active laws ban you from doing this.
        The mandatory penalizing quotas of the 1930s dust-bowl era are no longer used in modern farm bills.

        The current USDA programs use voluntary incentives, crop insurance, and conservation compliance rather than strict mandatory production caps.

        Freedom to Farm exists. You can legally grow as much wheat as you want on your private land for personal or livestock use without federal interference. Much of the landmark case has been rolled back in precedence. Although the right of the federal government to deny you to home grow you own pot in marijuana legal states was affirmed. This is probably what is making you mad. You cant legally grow your own pot.

        • The decision still stands and it can be used as a justification for outright seizure of family farms – and farms are already being taken via “eminent domain” for “Data Centers” (Domestic Surveillance and Stasi centers). The law if a total farce, especially in the hands of unaccountable Blackrobed Clowns who’ve appointed themselves as Philosopher Kings. We’d be better off literally hanging every single one of them.

  11. The 1990’s and early 2000’s were not quite the Golden Age — maybe the Bronze Age? De-industrialization, and the start of mass 3rd-world immigration had already set the course for the USA Titanic. Then came the 2007 financial crisis, and things never quite recovered. Then worsened. Mass immigration hit full throttle, and the out-of-control spiral started. Biden era; pedal-to-the-metal, over the cliff. Trump and the Crony Class are now looting the corpse.

    It’s a bitter, bitter pill to swallow. I was a little kid, and got chills down my spine when I heard a beautiful White woman sing the Star-Spangled Banner: “The land of the free, and the home of the brave.” What did the guy say when he came, hat in hand, to Don Corleone, in The Godfather? I believed in America.
