It just goes to show how culturally unmoored these people are from both ordinary people and Western culture in general that a homosexual in a gay marriage is going around calling Thomas Jefferson immoral for being a slaveowner. In their view, “homophobia” is the real sin.
Note: The term homophobia was non-existent before the mid-1970s. We’re watching these people casting aside and making up new moral values as they go. As the argument goes, we’re all terrible people for not believing in their values which were made up like 4 years ago.
Homosexuality was (media) promoted, starting in the early 70’s. Prior to that, it was considered a weirdo perversion. The social acceptance of queers was entirely (media) generated and coordinated.

I think your assessment of Jefferson is too harsh. There are good things and bad things about Jefferson. The good outweighs the bad. The problem wasn’t Jefferson himself so much as other people misunderstanding him.
@Ironsides – do you genuinely believe that Jefferson, and all the other White Men, EVER believed that this country would descend into such degradation? I doubt, if we were able to travel back in time and tell them that Whites are being exterminated from our own country, and England is in even worse shape, in this year, that they’d laugh in our faces at the utter impossibility of such a dire situation.

Mayor Buttplug describes himself as an Episcopalian and has favorably compared himself with whack job Mike Pence’s version of Christianity. The VP’s version of Christianity may have its shortcomings (always focused on Israel/the so-called “Rapture”) but it has, at least in the recent past condemned sodomy. I guess politics is above religion with “Conservatism, Inc.” because taking their cues from the White House none of the professional “Conservatives” will touch the sodomy issue with a ten foot pole.
Writing as a NE Yankee with settler roots I want to comment first that there is much sympathy in surprising parts of the country with HW’s viewpoints as expressed on this site. Don’t automatically assume there is monolithic support for left wing positions in blue areas of the country including places like California or the Northeast. The Left controls the money now and therefore the megaphone but all will be up for grabs when they eventually ruin the currency.
The second point I would like to make is that referring to the Pocket Catholic Dictionary, ISBN 0-385-23238-1 Doubleday Books 1980, 1985 page 409 “Sins Crying out to Heaven” four sins are listed under this category: 1.) Willful murder, 2.) Oppression of the poor 3.) Robbing workers of their wages and last but not least; 4.) Sodomy. One doesn’t have to be Catholic to agree with the previous list either, reason and natural law lead one to the same conclusion that these actions are sinful in an especially grievous manner.
