Epstein got high positions (teacher at a ritzy private school and manager of a hedge fund with no apparent customers) and plenty of money without the right experience or education. Usually, that means connections of a dubious and/or secret type. Of COURSE it had something to do with him being placed in charge of a disgusting operation, like blackmailing powerful people through sex with the underaged. It doesn’t surprise me that Mossad was behind it, although when it comes to the enormous amounts of funding needed for something like buying and maintaining a private island, other intelligence outfits and elite groups were also probably involved.
