Caught In The Black Undertow: Detroit—And America?

VDARE

Check out William L. Houston’s excellent review of Charlie LeDuff’s Detroit: An American Autopsy at VDARE.

Note: Naturally, Gov. Rick Snyder chose a black emergency manager for Detroit in order to deflect charges of “racism.” Once again, Detroit is being run as a “civil rights” trust for black people rather than it ought to be as a world class metropolis.

  1. Charlie LeDuff is a jackass, and he’s not even from here and doesn’t even live here now. Last Sunday, LeDuff got completely shitfaced at some St. Patricks Day party downtown, and took a piss in the middle of a crowded street, bit a security guard on the finger, and cussed out the police as he got arrested. The guy is a joke.

  2. “Last Sunday, LeDuff got completely shitfaced at some St. Patricks Day party downtown”

Uh, St. Patrick’s Day is this Sunday not last Sunday. He must be what they call a Black Irishman. LOL

  3. I’venoticed that St. Pat’s “Day” seems to go for ~around ten days here in Chicago. It’s something to do with some dispute in the1970s between the official Downtown St. Pat’s parade committee and a break away South Side Irish parade. The Irish are like that, holding grudges from some social snub from decades, centuries ago.

Trying to get local Irish to focus on crucial current events like looming mass amnesty for 11-20 million non White illegal aliens takes a back seat to some divide over parade committees from the 1970s.

  4. I saw the guy’s name is “Kevyn” and I immediately searched for a picture. My suspicions were of course confirmed. The tragedy and the farce are going at the same time.

  5. I never felt a part of the factory town culture, so it’s hard to care about it. But it sounds like Charlie Le Duff’s family would not run the place much better, sadly. For a place to work, it needs so many things that area seems to lack. Why on earth, with cities such as this, would a faction in government INSIST on keeping open the south border, bringing in another politically incited “proxy population” from all the south americas? Whites are doing that.

  6. No, DixieGirl.  The Mexican immivasion is deeply unpopular with Whites as a group.  It’s the Chamber of Commerce that loves it, for the cheap (because supported by the middle-class taxpayer) labor.

  7. Nutter’s name is quite appropriate. He’s got his panties in a wad because the media broke it’s no snitch rule about blacks being the assholes that they are.

  8. Seems to me the mexican invasion is more popular with White folks then we’d like to admit. Middle class and upper middle-class White folks that is

The building trade “thrives” on them. Right now I am working on a house before selling it. It’s in an upper middle class neighborhood. I see a large number of mexican work crews, doing yard work, new construction, and the more general home repair stuff. Even had one crew ask if I wanted an estimate. I see a couple of cleaning crews a week too. My guess is a lot of these folks enjoy having servants without having to hit the big money income. Some of it I blame on status whoring and being lazy, some of it is not. A lot of men have become so specialized for work they never learned how to do a lot of basic home maintenance.

  9. What’s the rub between Paul Kersey and Leduff about? Leduff using Kersey’s stuff and not crediting him?

  10. “Seems to me the mexican invasion is more popular with White folks then we’d like to admit. Middle class and upper middle-class White folks that is”

We always had black folks do the housework and cooking when I was growing up. Since house niggers are no longer available because blacks refuse the work people are turning to using Mexicans/Central Americans. On the West Coast all the gardeners used to be Japs. Now they are almost exclusively Mexicans. I just wish that communities would ban those damn noisy leaf blowers that they use.

  11. Rich people love to have servants to lord it over.  It’s a dominance thing.  Sailer says the great-grandchildren of the Okies cost too much and are too tempting to the tanned, toned, silicone-enhanced girls of the valley (too much testosterone).  Hiring some short, brown Indios from Oaxaca who haven’t even bothered to learn Spanish in 500 years of colonialism is cheaper and they don’t have to be treated like humans, which is how the neo-feudalists like it.

Could part of the divide between “Yankees” and Southerners be the attitude toward servants?  Could Yankees be instinctively inclined toward a more egalitarian society, where people do most things for themselves?  You tell me.

  12. “Rich people love to have servants to lord it over.”

No, they just want to have more time for hunting, fishing, sailing, and golf etc…

  13. I’ve never had problems finding young White girls to clean my house or young White men to help out on the farm

I think old school Southron folk are more comfortable with rank systems and tend not to look down on working class Whites, as long as neither group tries to portray itself as the other. I base that on my own experience as 1st generation money. I was surprised to find out how much in common I had with old school, old money families

Here’s the thing. The town I noticed the mexicans doing everything is an army town. The county I live in, the one with the old money, you see negros or Whites doing the work (expect the golf course). Given what northern elites do with immigration over the last 100 years, I’d say northern money has a bigger axe against working Whites then Southern, but I’m just making a guess

  14. EITHER obey the Scriptures “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you,” “Let each bear his own burden” and “Let ours work with their hands,” so to live independent of ANY form of slavery — OR choose to “do it to others before they do it to you,” using others to “create immense wealth” and “have time for sailing, golf, etc.”

  15. You really should pay more attention to the Bible. It is full of stories about Godly men who had servants and slaves

  16. The elements of racial and cultural diversity, old and recent, in the northern as well as southern states, were nearly all brought or invited here to be used to create wealth, and leisure time for sailing, etc.

  17. Follow Christ, and the apostles, rather than Solomon who enslaved even many of his own people and created immense wealth, leisure and a name for himself, and destroyed his people.

  18. Sort of, in the Old South race mixing was illegal and punished both formally and informally. No one ever said they should accept TNB

  19. One of the most dangerous mis-teachings of Calvinism is that the elect are marked by prosperity and power — that lording it over many servants and employees is “next to godliness.”

  20. If you close your eyes, open the Scripture and point to a verse, it might be the words of false prophet or Satan, or a fallible man like Solomon. Follow Christ, and interpret the old in the light of the new.

  21. @Mosin

“The elements of racial and cultural diversity, old and recent, in the northern as well as southern states, were nearly all brought or invited here to be used to create wealth, and leisure time for sailing, etc.”

That’s what I meant by tru dat, although you’ve got the Presbyterians number pretty well too.

  22. I have no idea what Calvinist believe. I have no theology but the Bible and do not strive to make the Word of God fit various secular beliefs

  23. “I have no theology but the Bible and do not strive to make the Word of God fit various secular beliefs”

That is the correct view, Stonelifter. We like to say we are “neither Catholic nor Protestant,” but strive to be faithful to the Word. But history of theology is VERY useful to study! You should learn what the Calvinists believe, or believed. There are thousands of years of accumulated intepretative experience, great wisdom however mixed with a lot of foolishness to be sorted.

  24. I don’t find history of Christian theology, Bible translation and interpretation, etc. boring or irrelevant at all.

  25. I was on another racialist site today where I noticed a headline: “Whatever you do, don’t read the Bible! It is a complete waste of time, full of Jewish lies, nonsense” etc.

  26. Coming back to this thread, I noticed “strive to make the Word of God fit various secular beliefs.” But it is the modern “Creationist” misinterpretation of Genesis that strives to misuse the Word of God against the humanistic misuse of science. At one time it would have been natural to accept the stories of the six days and the Flood as literal histories as well as the vehicles for teaching lessons of truth. But today, blessed with knowledge of the fossil record, genetics, etc., we know it is wrong to still treat the lessons as history. But the LESSONS are still the same.

Many of those who insist on the modern “literal” Creationist misinterpretations of Genesis and Revelation, refuse to take the words of Christ in the Sermon on the Mount literally.

  27. Biblical slavery was a way to pay off debts, not exist as perpetual chattel. God condemned using alien people as chattel, Israel did it anyway, and they paid for it dearly.

  28. Solomon and later kings used their own people, as well as alien peoples. Right now, WE are being used as chattel to pay off global banking “debts.”
