Note: Trump’s lead has grown to 38 percent and 41 percent respectively in the latest ABC/Washington Post and Monmouth national polls. It is his widest lead yet in the race.

Trump is from the N.E. and his greatest support is from the South, so, it would seem he would need someone to draw votes from other sectors.
I’m guessing He will be advised to choose a woman or Hispanic or negro if he in fact gets that far.
So, according to conventional political wisdom, a Southern man would be off the table for V.P.

Thursday on the “The Joyce Kaufman Show,” while discussing Tuesday night’s Republican presidential debate, conservative commentator and author Ann Coulter warned only GOP front-runner Donald Trump recognizes that “the threat facing America right now is we’re about to become Uganda.”
Commenting on that field, Coulter said, “When you take Trump out of our race, they are really all monkeys.”
“These guys all want to be like Reagan,” she added. “When Reagan ran was he constantly saying, ‘Elect me, I’ll be Calvin Coolidge.’ For Pete’s sake, Reagan was elected 35 years ago. The world was a different place. The main problem facing America is no longer the threat of a nuke from the Soviet Union. It’s not encroaching communism. The threat facing America right now is we’re about to become Uganda.”
When the host added, “And racial Islam sees its opening. That’s even scarier. We will be a third-world banana republic and radical Islam will have its way with us,” Coulter added.
On the topic of Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus’ opening statement at the debate welcoming Hispanics, Asians, and women, Coulter said, “What on earth? And, by the way, I noticed that white men weren’t included on the list of people that Republicans stand for. Why are Republicans embarrassed about getting white votes? What is that? Democrats can’t get them, I can see why Democrats are always going around dissing white people, but why does the Republican have to be embarrassed about getting white votes?”

Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney on Friday slammed Russian President Vladimir Putin with who GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump has expressed mutual respect.
“Important distinction: thug Putin kills journalists and opponents; our presidents kill terrorists and enemy combatants,” tweeted Romney, the former governor of Massachusetts.
His tweet came hours after Trump again expressed admiration for the Russian leader during a television interview, where he was pressed about Putin’s efforts to silence political opponents and journalists.
MSNBC co-host Joe Scarborough pointed out to Trump during the “Morning Joe” segment that Putin “is a person who kills journalists, political opponents and invades countries.”
The host appeared taken aback by Trump, who brushed off the remarks and responded by stating that Putin is “running his country and at least he’s a leader, unlike what we have in our country.”
“Again, he kills journalists that don’t agree with him,” Scarborough, a former GOP lawmaker, reiterated.
“Well I think our country does plenty of killing also,” Trump responded.
Romney, the 2012 GOP nominee, has rebuked Trump before, including earlier this month when the celebrity Republican candidate announced his proposal to temporarily ban Muslims from entering the United States.

Republican presidential candidate Ohio Gov. John Kasich’s campaign has released a new website and video satirically touting a Trump-Putin 2016 bid for the White House. Its slogan: “Make tyranny great again.” “In a bold and visionary move characteristic of everything he does, today terrific billionaire Donald Trump named Russian President Vladimir Putin as his running mate in the 2016 U.S. presidential campaign,” the Kasich campaign said in a news release. The website, Trump-Putin2016.com, is a reference to Trump and Putin heaping praise on one another this week. “By signing up you are waiving all constitutional rights, civil liberties, notion of privacy and subjecting yourself to a steady stream of hugely outrageous comments,” a disclaimer on the website reads.
