I’m not sure about the conviction. Policeman shoots a fleeing suspect who has wrestled with him, to the ground, and who has put a hand on a weapon of his (the taser). I’m all but sure the U.S. Supreme Court has not decided a case that has involved anything like that.

Considering how much time has gone by, I can believe that. I’ve wondered whether the amount of time is usual or is, instead, an indication that the prosecution is unsure of its case. This past May, Slager was hit, too, with a civil-rights charge and two other federal charges, to all of which, he’s pleaded not guilty. Am pretty sure trial of those charges has not been scheduled.
