I repeat … if this deal holds up.
The details don’t appear to be ironed out. It is an informal agreement. There could possibly be some legal bullshit in Mexico. The bottom line is that the caravan situation in Tijuana has spiraled out of control and it is not in Mexico’s interest for Trump to close the border or retaliate in some other way or continue to have all these illegal aliens literally breaking down the gates of their own border.
In light of the Iron Bowl this afternoon, I will just say this was like a 4th and 20 pass when you are down by 21 points in the third quarter for the Trump administration. If these caravans had busted through the border and kept coming, it would have shredded Trump’s credibility on immigration. Now, it is possible he might politically survive this near death experience and come out with a win.
