  1. 2 million now 100k how long until 15k? A week a month?

Not that I want to reverse this self-inflicted wound; it’s a wonderful white swan – a gift from God? I just dont like the reasoning (lack thereof).

    • 2 million deaths and 100K deaths are two potential outcomes right now. No intervention = 2 million. Current course (well-executed stay-at-home but no more lucky breaks) = 100K. In short, the mortality estimates are going down as we take steps to mitigate the spread.

  2. Here’s my take, from an old fart boomer. The TL;DR summary in one sentence – yes, it’s serious but the panic is overblown.

For the average person, it’s easy to just say it’s the “flu” because there are some similar symptoms – fever, cough, aches, etc. But, it isn’t the flu. The flu, or influenza, or “the grip” as my uncle used to say, or Grippe in German is caused by the influenza virus. WuFlu is caused by a SARS corona virus. SARS stands for “Severe acute respiratory syndrome”. This type of virus first appeared in China in 2002.

Given what SARS means, it seems to make sense that ventilators would be used as treatment, at some stage anyway. I do not know what his source is, but Karl Denninger (https://market-ticker.org/) makes the claim that the mortality rate of patients in China who ended up on a ventilator was 95%. Essentially being put on a ventilator means you’ll die (from the disease, not the ventilator, of course.) I do not know what the statistics are for Europe or the USA.

So, yes, it’s a serious disease that no one wants to catch. The reason I think the panic is overblown is due to a the following:

    1. Dr. Fauci has been quoted before in the co-authored article in the New England Journal of Medicine that appeared on 3/26. The article states:

“On the basis of a case definition requiring a diagnosis of pneumonia, the currently reported case fatality rate is approximately 2%.4 In another article in the Journal, Guan et al.5 report mortality of 1.4% among 1099 patients with laboratory-confirmed Covid-19; these patients had a wide spectrum of disease severity. If one assumes that the number of asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic cases is several times as high as the number of reported cases, the case fatality rate may be considerably less than 1%. This suggests that the overall clinical consequences of Covid-19 may ultimately be more akin to those of a severe seasonal influenza (which has a case fatality rate of approximately 0.1%) or a pandemic influenza (similar to those in 1957 and 1968) rather than a disease similar to SARS or MERS, which have had case fatality rates of 9 to 10% and 36%, respectively.”

The point being, many, many more people have WuFlu than just those who test positive. That makes the denominator much larger and brings down the mortality percentage.

    2. Professor Walter Ricciardi, scientific adviser to Italy’s Minister of Health is quoted in the Telegraph, 3/23:

“The age of our patients in hospitals is substantially older – the median is 67, while in China it was 46,” Prof Ricciardi says. “So essentially the age distribution of our patients is squeezed to an older age and this is substantial in increasing the lethality.”
“The way in which we code deaths in our country is very generous in the sense that all the people who die in hospitals with the coronavirus are deemed to be dying of the coronavirus.

“On re-evaluation by the National Institute of Health, only 12 per cent of death certificates have shown a direct causality from coronavirus, while 88 per cent of patients who have died have at least one pre-morbidity – many had two or three,” he says.

    3. I was a kid during the Hong Kong flu pandemic of 1968. While I remember hearing it on the news, I do not recall any fuss or panic being made about it. Schools were not closed; shops and businesses were not closed. We continued to have are family get togethers, birthday parties and holiday parties. Yes, that was the flu; this is SARS. Perhaps SARS can be transmitted more easily between people. I don’t know. Nevertheless, the Hong Kong flu killed about 100,000 in the USA. Let that number sink in. Yet, if you look at the Wikepedia page for the Hong Kong flu, the main body of the text fills up one screen, without needing to scroll. Hardly anything there. Compare that to the length of the WuFlu page, and it’s not over yet.

The contradiction, of course, is what’s happening in New York and Italy. What’s the difference? Why are the hospitals overwhelmed now and they weren’t in 1968? Larger population and the hospitals didn’t keep up? Back then, hospitals followed the help the sick model. Today they only follow a business model to make money. Even if Italy, for example, was counting every death as caused by the WuFlu, OK, but why the hospital overflow, stacks of coffins hauled off by the army, etc.? Perhaps way more elderly people in Italy? And then there’s China. Impossible to believe? Not one more case? Ridiculous. But Chinese culture always stressed saving face, so numbers coming from there can’t be trusted. More questions than answers.

    • If you can get Doxycycline and asthma Ventolin. It will mitigate the first punch from the onset and after that you will recover.

It’s a shitty flu season too so these things do help anyway.

  3. The chart that Blormp is looking at with an expression of arrogant stupidity reminds me of that graph which shows that the median IQ for Negroes is 85.

  4. Those last two posts were some brutal shit.

One made some sense the other one was fit for trash day
..which it is in my hamlet.
Thanks Brad for allowing the “other views” so we can see what sanity still looks like.

I did see flat erf and moon landing stuff here recently wtf was tha aboot eh?

Thanks stay safe, pray and watch ya back friend.

    • “I did see flat erf and moon landing stuff here recently wtf was tha aboot eh?”

People who doubt FEDGOV and the J-Media about GlobEarth and fake Moon landings…. whack jobs
People who doubt FEDGOV and the J-Media about everything else … intelligent thinkers

      Beginning to see the pattern?

  5. Trump shut the borders to Europe three weeks ago, but pajeets from south asia are still entering the country freely. Why?

  6. Hunter, could you look into the issue of protective masks?

First, they were telling us that wearing masks PPE would not help. But now, I am hearing whispers, trickles on the news sites that maybe masks DO help, but they deliberately misled the public because they did not want the public buying them en masse. Is any of this true?

If so, we here at home are going to start sewing our own. But I am curious as to what the truth is about this issue. Thanks. Great work as always. Stay safe.

      • Wear gloves and wear a mask. Additionally load up on vitamin C take vitamin D if you can’t get sunshine. And talk to your doctors about what they’ve found out and how it matches or doesnt match your symptoms. The doctors are now seeing real live cases and are starting to get a feel for the symptoms.

        • Taking C and D3 is always a good idea, viruses or not. Selenium works well against “enveloped viruses” like corona-chan, supposedly. Selenium and iodine are supplements one should always take, as well.

    • Yes, they lied, this is settled science in East Asia and forcing mask use keeps the 86% of mild or asymptomatic cases from spewing trillions of viruses all over the place. They wanted to save them for the hospitals and wanted to hide the fact that YOU COULDN’T GET ANY MASKS BECAUSE THE SHELVES WERE WIPED CLEAN NATIONWIDE BY THE CHINESE MAFIA IN MID JANUARY! And our authorities just let them ship most of them out of the country to scalp in China like a football game ticket the way some shady Ferengi on Star Trek would.

Yes the virus is different from the ordinary flu, most flu deaths are from bacterial pneumonia that sets in, this thing that was in filthy bats just 6 months ago* causes such a strong immune reaction it destroys your lungs. Same sort of “cytokine storm” that occurred with the 1918 flu.

*One youtube channel from a guy with yellow fever who reads Chinese showed an online help wanted ad still up in Wuhan posted November 18th looking for a PHD Virologist to work at a lab where they were working on BAT VIRUSES THAT CAN INFECT HUMANS LIKE EBOLA AND SARS! So knowing first hand just how incompetent and careless the Mainland Chinese are I have no problem believing someone was reckless at that lab and may have caught something and carried it out into the general community. A very real hypothesis.

  7. Regarding Italy, this article in Bloomberg cites a report from the Italian Ministry of Health that the winter flu season has been relatively mild and thus may have preserved a larger pool of elderly for the WuFlu & Death to harvest. The graph from the report shows that the mortality trend for those 65+ was significantly higher during the flu season 2016-2017 than the current trend, even with the WuFlu.

    • The presence of Chinese returning from the Yankze Kiang after Chinese New year.

  8. It’s the natural progression of things when we have no leadership in the White House. He’s only the leader of the Jew Economy. The Jews keep making more money off the Coronavirus and all Trumptard talks about is getting people back to work for the Jews. Why don’t he put the Cure out so everybody can get well and back to normal? He’s not got the Coronavirus while other World leaders have it. He got the Vaccine months ago? You know he did but we don’t have a united nation here in America. It’s the rich who got all the money and cures vs the middle class and working poor who get dumped in a hospital and get a $36,000 medical bill out of it. That’s the next thing that should happen…..100% medical bill forgiveness because we have a government run by an idiot that didn’t protect us. Deo Vindice !
