USA Today: Fringe Ideas Are Going Mainstream In U.S. Politics

I’m a fan of Patriot Front.

The truth is that so-called “extremist groups” like Patriot Front or League of the South only have a few hundred members or a few thousand supporters though scattered across a country of 330 million people. The amount of time and attention that is paid to us is really a waste.

I’m not under any illusions that what we are doing on the “far right” is significant. Violent accelerationists who are the most “lethal threat” have demonstrated time and again that they also pose no real threat to the government. Most of the disturbed people who occasionally lash out and engage in violence are inept clowns like Glenn Miller who only succeed in reinforcing their own marginalization.

This “mainstreaming of hate” trend, however, is truly significant though. The real threat to the status quo is that millions of White people on the Right and Center are persuaded that people like us are right and begin to agree with us. Coastal media continues to lose its legitimacy and audience in vast swathes of the country and shrinks back into the regional Acela Corridor Twitter Bubble. The so-called “watchdog organizations” come to be dismissed as nothing but partisan NGOs and lose the power to police the “mainstream.” No one even listens to Jonathan Greenblatt anymore and “misinformation” spreads like wildfire. Eventually, the precious “norms” are tested and discovered to be bankrupt, a relic of a bygone age when “Face the Nation” meant something other than Face the New York media.

At the end of the day, it is really up to people like Brian Stelter and Jim Acosta and Jake Tapper and Chris Hayes to win the argument, not lose the argument, to the “domestic extremists.” Ironically, you still have to like win the argument with your opposition in a democracy, which looks like it will be the downfall of the woke professional class. You can’t rely on little -isms and -phobias to stigmatize your opposition as beyond the pale when their ideas and narratives are broadly accepted as true by the public.

“Oren Segal, vice president of the ADL’s Center on Extremism, said these findings show a wider trend: The narratives that would have been considered in left field a few years ago are now being heartily embraced by politicians who hope to curry favor with supporters of former President Donald Trump. …

A report released by the Anti-Defamation League on Tuesday showed that candidates for local, state and federal offices have parroted white supremacist propaganda, expressed support for conspiracy theories including QAnon, and spread lies about election fraud.

Another study led by the voting rights advocacy organization Public Wise identified more than 220 sitting politicians or candidates who participated in or “directly supported” the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, either by spreading disinformation about the election before the riot or expressing support for the rioters. …

The ADL report outlines dozens of other examples of sitting politicians and candidates expressing support for causes varying from QAnon, the disproven anti-Semitic conspiracy theory that claims powerful Democrats and celebrities are engaged in a secret pedophilia ring, to groups like the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, to the lie, pushed by Trump, that the 2020 presidential election was stolen.

Experts on extremism said American politics appears to be entering a new era in which openly expressing support for what would have previously been considered marginal ideas is a proven and sometimes powerful campaign tool.

“I don’t think we’ve ever had so many candidates, in so many parts of the country, who are openly conspiracists or connected to white nationalists or various forms of extremism,” said Heidi Beirich, co-founder of the Global Project Against Hate and Extremism who has tracked extremists since the 1990s. “It just shows how much fringe ideas have been mainstreamed over the course of the last five or six years.” …”

If these people were capable of persuading people outside of their shriveling, sheltered, left-leaning, politically correct, corporate PMC bubble, they wouldn’t be leaning so hard on the crutch of censorship and deplatforming. In spite of all the censorship, I am looking at the trends and projecting total victory over the East Coast “journalists” and academics for “misinformation” and “disinformation.”

The long reign of New York media elites over their empire is over. If we had the tools in the 1960s that we have today, we would have defeated the Civil Rights Movement.

      Most of us here know very well (((who))) sold it. That’s only half the equation though. The other half is rarely discussed: Why was this sale successful? While the stage was being set under Reagan, the ones who finalized the sale were CIA-boss George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton – with full (((Ministry of Truth))) propaganda for it. Ross Perot warned about the issue (remember the “giant sucking sound”?) and Pat Buchanan openly opposed it in the 1992 primary. Putting aside the rigged election in 1992, why did the normies buy into what clearly was a looting racket by (((Wall Street)))?

      The answer is that the idiocracy, edumacated in public schuls, were programmed (bewitched) into buying it. Thus even when warned, they swallowed the con – hook, line and sinker. The normie is generally incapable of thinking things through and looking at possible serious consequences down the road, having been programmed since kindergarten to be unencumbered by the thought process.     • Even though the Ministry of Truth is not a viable business model – supported by basically laundering billions in slush funds – the ruling oligarchs will ultimately cut it loose if viewership falls below a certain level. At the end of the day its chief purpose is propaganda and misinformation. If the mandarins at CNN, et al fail to deliver the lies successfully, Soros et al will cut them off. Their decline is real, which is indeed a good thing.
